  1. The Destin couple: You could tell that the wife was pretty savvy about managing money, the household and her husband. She wasn't afraid to tackle renovations (with the help of her father). She was willing to give up the ocean-front property for one that better suited their lifestyle and long term plans. I did like the one that they chose because it had that separate cottage with lots of rental potential and was large enough for the extended family. Landscaping a backyard isn't a big deal.
  2. Nashville to Nuremberg. Amanda wanted more than a bathtub ... she wanted a balcony and a decent kitchen and to be near the social scene. At the end, she had a party with all her new "friends" but I'm wondering how many of them knew who she was or why they were in her apartment.
  3. Who decided that "House Hunters Family" was a good idea? Watched several episodes today back-to-back and most of the kids were overacting and/or totally obnoxious. The worst bunch was the crew in Denver, especially the kid who wanted to trash everything. And, who decided that after the families decide on the home that they'd like to buy, that the whole family has to go running through the house even before the original owners moved out?
  4. Young couple from Utah going to Lake Como so he could take classes in Miilan. Fell asleep before they picked the final apartment but ... Neither one speaks Italian. How is he going to understand what's going on in his classes. Milan is at leas 30 minute train ride from Lake Como. Why not look for some place in Milan? What is she going to do all day in Lake Como with an infant? None of the apartments looked "baby proof" Plenty of good design schools in the U.S. Why not go there and wait until the kid is older and take a vacation to Italy?
  5. Congratulations, cooks delight. Everything looks delicious.
  6. Definitely, MsTree. Even when she's letting Taylor choose tiles and colors. She humors her and then says, "We'll go with this one" (which was Christina's choice). Taylor is getting so big and, it seems, is not as well groomed as she was before. Her hair was definitely messy. Of course, that may be part of her learning to do it herself.
  7. Anyone else notice Christina baring her teeth at Tarik when he suggested taking out the black/white chevron on the peninsula? And she practically screamed "What!!?" at him. She did something similar later in the episode but without the yelling. Not a good look. And, perhaps the cameras are not being as flattering to her because it seems that she has the beginnings of a double chin.
  8. Ok ... I'm ready for this season to be over. Can't they get rid of two or three at a time?
  9. Anyone else notice how often these beach front properties (especially condos) are way over-priced? In the epilogue, the new home/condo owners says something like ... "this place was priced at $250K but we (or our realtor) was able to negotiate it down to $175K.
  10. Rerun of NJ single woman (Shannon) who brought her friend along to help ... and all the friend (Alex) could say was, "You have to have room for the baby" in the most annoying voice ever. What baby? Seems like the NJ single was focusing on her career; not at all interested in a place for a baby.
  11. My thoughts on Matthew are: the powers-that-be are letting him get away with lots of underhanded stuff that puts the focus on him. But, they don't want to cut him yet. They're waiting until near the end when the winner of "Star Redemption" rejoins the cast. That way, he'll be gone instead of going into the second-chance competition.
  12. Giada's blue dress was so tight that I wondered how she was going to sit down in it. Well, she may have 'hiked it up' but that made it even shorter ... so, instead of getting the outside seat at the table (upstage camera position), she was stuck in the back where the lighting was horrible. Being backless, the dress didn't give her boobs any support which she desperately needed. Then, she changed to that other dress (which again didn't support her boobs) for the judging.
  13. IMO ... there are no "friends" on any of the Bachelor shows; just people who can tolerate (or not) each other. Right now, it seems the strategy for Corinne & DiMario is CYA (in more ways than one).
  14. More info from CNNMoney ... http://money.cnn.com/2017/06/13/media/bachelor-in-paradise/index.html The source with knowledge of the situation told CNNMoney that a male and female contestant were filmed engaging in sexual acts on the first day of production in Sayulita, Mexico. (CNNMoney is choosing not to identify the people involved in the encounter because its unclear if it involves sexual assault.) For the next two days production continued. The source said "there was no indication" there had been an incident of alleged sexual misconduct. "The next day [the male and female contestants involved in the encounter] were talking and seemed friendly with each other. The only odd part was that producers were not allowing [the female contestant] to drink, and she seemed really frustrated by that," the source said. By day three production had been halted. The cast remained on set without the cameras present, and the male and female contestants involved in the incident had "mysteriously" disappeared from the set, the source said. Especially interesting: the part where, the next day, "the producers were not allowing the female contestantst to drink and she seemed really frustrated by that."
  15. I didn't realize that they had so many guys sharing the same room in the house. What were there ... three (or four) sets of bunk beds in the room when they showed the guys getting ready? And so many clothes and stuff all over the place. Bet it smells real good too .... NOT!
  16. I think the met guy is still there. The ex-Marine is gone.
  17. Good boot this week. Love Zeke but he was playing erratically, trying to make the big moves when it (a) wasn't time for that yet and (b) getting to the point where no one trusted him. Tai ... hopefully, this week's vote was a wake-up call for him and he'll play his idols in the next couple of episodes. Strange that his alliance voted for him. If he's aware of that, he might be willing to talk to/work with the other alliance. Did anyone else notice all of Sierra's bling at Tribal Council? Wonder if she thought she was going home and didn't want to leave it behind at camp. BTW, what happens to the stuff that people leave behind when they're voted off? Does someone from production go and get it? Or do the remaining players divvy it up?
  18. In a way, Cirie did Mikaela a favor by not choosing her in the reward challenge. When Cirie was chosen as team leader, it pretty much sealed the fate of that team. Barring some sort of catastrophe by the other team, the odds were 1-99 that Cirie's team would win that challenge. And being on a losing team might have been more frustrating for Mikaela than actually sitting on the bench.
  19. Well ... HGTV has to realize that some of T&C's ratings are based on people wanting to see a train wreck. When it doesn't happen, will folks stick around to see the upcoming season of shows?
  20. Now, they're trying to drum up an audience (paying, of course) for their real estate seminars. Christina has posted about them on Instagram and Tarek has posted on Facebook. Don't know how many takers they'll get given their relationship status and the fact that many times they don't actually show up for the seminars.
  21. Jet lag is kicking in for most, if not all, racers. On those long airplane flights, they aren't really able to catch up on their good-REM sleep. And, all of it, airplane flights, roadblock and detour tasks, meals of whatever/whenever ... all take a toll on bodily functions.
  22. Two ... count them ... TWO episodes this week, starting at 9 pm Eastern and continuing at 10 pm Eastern.
  23. Massachusetts to Puerto Rico ... At first, I thought the wife was the daughter. Her voice, her mannerisms, her childish behavior (swinging on the stair rail, whining about living at the beach, etc.) made me wonder if she didn't have some sort of disorder.
  24. Started watching the first episode and only lasted about 15 minutes. It's the same-old-same-old HGTV formula in a different town with different people. I may give it another chance but I'm burned out on these fixer-upper type shows.
  25. I wonder if the ovens are properly calibrated. There seems to have been a lot of underbaked cakes this season.
