  1. Barry going back in time to save his mother, changing his mind after he's ALREADY THERE not because he has an epiphany about it being a completely stupid and selfish thing to do, but because his future self tells him not to and everyone just being like, "sure my life might cease to exist as I know it, but go ahead and do you, Barry!" is the epitome of stupid storytelling and so many viewers/reviewers thought that finale was amazing, haha. Not to mention the fact that Barry let Eobard out of his cell for absolutely no freaking reason. Ugh. The Flash's grading curve is strong.
  2. Not arguing with you necessarily, but I can see guilt-ridden Oliver worrying about voluntarily letting Laurel walk to the precinct alone and wondering whether he should've taken a few minutes to make sure she got there okay vs. putting everything on hold specifically to go and save her above other people in the city. When he worried about her getting to the precinct, Waller wasn't getting ready to level the city, and Slade's men weren't attempting to flee via the tunnel, but after Laurel was kidnapped, he had those things to deal with. So, while Oliver probably could've taken a few minutes to make sure Laurel got to Quentin safely, he really didn't have the time to go on a one-woman rescue mission when there were other pressing matters that could affect a lot more people.
  3. I didn't say it made sense. You wrote that he didn't have any reason to think of her in that moment, but he did.
  4. Sure there was. It was right after Felicity mentioned that there were over 200 reports of masked men trying to destroy the city. It doesn't make sense that he seemed to care more about her in that moment than the other two where he put his mission ahead of her safety, but since he just left her to walk to the precinct alone, I get why Felicity mentioning that would make him feel like he should've made sure she got there safely.
  5. I wrote about this a couple of weeks ago, but I agree. Barry is the victim of plot-mandated stupidity just like Oliver is, but the whole thing he pulled in the finale was the worst. I think he just gets a pass because he's more popular/likable than Oliver, but he's so whiny about Iris and is occasionally a selfish moron. I think The Flash also gets a pass because of the effects and wacky science that can explain away most of the plot holes.
  6. I think he says "I should've gone with Laurel to make sure she got to the precinct." Whatever he says before "should've" is really not easy to hear.
  7. Yeah, I think the only time a non-masked character will get on a poster is for their own show. And even then I'm not so sure anymore.
  8. This one I kind of get because my god, how many more people can be on there? I'm more upset that Oliver's just kind of tucked back behind Barry. I know The Flash is more popular and they're hyping LoT, but the hero of the show that got all of that started should have a more prominent place in the promo, IMO.
  9. Yeah. I never really thought too much about the freak out because I figured he was just worried that she was walking to the precinct by herself instead of them dropping her off there. I guess when it's Laurel vs. random mirakududes he's anxious, but if an actual enemy has her, all bets are off, haha.
  10. This is the poster people are talking about, for those who haven't seen it:
  11. That whole "person you love the most" thing was idiotic. The plus side is that it did provide me with the scene that makes me cackle more than any other on this show: when Slade is on the comms with Oliver and he tells Oliver that he's got the one that he loves, and if Oliver doesn't meet him when and where he says, he's going to kill her. Thinking that Slade's talking about Laurel (because he doesn't know that Slade has Felicity yet), he says, "You do what you have to." LMAO. Not that I think Oliver would've really let him kill her, but damn, son. OTP AMIRITE?
  12. He was definitely suggesting that they find a place together - he said "we" several times. But I think he was framing it in the context of, you can't keep staying at Laurel's and we can't sleep in the foundry, so let's find a third location where we can be alone. When she reframed it in the context of moving in together moving in together, the lil hamster that powers his brain came to a screeching halt, haha.
  13. I had just woken up yesterday while he was doing his Twitter Q&A and it took me way too long to figure out that a squared circle was a ring, haha.
  14. This is me being optimistic, but I don't think we'll have to worry about Felicity being on Ray island in S4. Ray's not a love interest anymore, Ray knows about Oliver and the rest of the team now. There isn't really any reason to keep him separated from the team anymore.
  15. I'm curious about what strides Oliver made with Sara as well. I mean, he obviously cared very deeply for her, but I didn't see him improve very much through his romantic relationship with her. Their first episode as a couple involved Sara carelessly inviting him to a family dinner with Laurel and him accepting the invitation like an idiot. There was the bit where he pushed her away during the Suicide Squad ep, and she convinced him not to. But then he still (and even still, a year and a half later) needed additional support from other people to convince him that he doesn't have to do everything alone. I suppose she did get him to stick firmly to his no-kill stance with the whole Roy thing, but that's something he was already doing anyway. Like I said, I don't doubt that he cared for her - he obviously did very much. But their romantic relationship didn't seem to do much for either one of them IMO.
  16. On topic: SA tweeted a pic of a naked J. Biebs, so...forewarning and all that:
  17. I think I'm partially responsible for your argument getting twisted, with my comments about bestselling authors knowing a thing or two about reader engagement. It was a poor attempt at expressing that JC's critiques came from personal experiences with her writing, where were also not even the point of your original post. So, sorry about that, haha.
  18. I got the feeling from the LoT trailer that Ray is going to be mini for a while. I wonder if he'll even interact with people that much, or if they'll have Felicity or someone figure out pretty early on that he's not dead, he's just tiny, and get him regular-sized again. Or if regular-sized Team Arrow (or, ugh, just Felicity and maybe STAR Labs people) are going to work on getting him back to normal size for a portion of the season.
  19. Looks like she edited the head off of the person back there, which raises all kinds of questions. Did she ask to be digitally decapitated? Was she making a terrible face?
  20. But we weren't talking about whether or not a bestselling author is capable of writing poorly, we're talking about whether HER critiques were written poorly. But good lord, who even cares at this point.
  21. Nobody was commenting on her books or their quality though. We were commenting on her critique of the show.
  22. Well, at least she told him as much here, haha. I don't mind the speeches so much because IMO Oliver thinks he's such a pile of shit that I do believe he'd have to hear positive things about himself several times for it to really sink in. It is getting excessive now though.
  23. The conversation isn't so much about Crusie's opinion as it is about SA's tendency to not deal with criticism well. Which is an offshoot of the conversation about his "tough shit" response to that person's tweet thinking that someone would be a perfect Casey Jones. Seems like most of the conversation about Crusie is regarding whether SA was right to dismiss her simply for criticizing the show.
  24. It didn't hold your attention, but it held enough people's attention to make that woman a kajillion dollars, which was my point but is irrelevant to what we're talking about here. But you have your right to think Ms. Crusie's opinions weren't well written - I happened to enjoy reading them, even if I didn't always agree. Although I suspect that if Jennifer Crusie hadn't been writing about how she thought Arrow was slowly getting terrible, SA wouldn't have thought her opinion was badly written at all.
