  1. Disney seems to have so little interest in this, I don't know why they didn't just dump it on streaming at the start of everything. They could have eaten the loss and avoided all of the bad press. It's a shame. I was actually looking forward to this. Gal Gadot is also pregnant, which only makes it more complicated.
  2. They (and Marvel) are also doing a huge Pride celebration in June, and both are doing a big book with multiple stories about queer characters, by queer writers and artists. One of them is the Renee Montoya Question, and if there was ever a character that was done dirty by constant editorial meddling... Unfortunately, Infinite Frontier Renee is now Commissioner Montoya, so I'm going to be waiting forever to get a real story.
  3. I confess to being a bit surprised that that’s the version of Doctor Fate they’re going with.
  4. Did he seriously use "Song to the Siren" in a montage? Can he leave one haunting song alone? Jeez.
  5. My opinion of the need for this aside, the costumes are fantastic.
  6. Unless it's the cold-blooded murder of Jimmy Olsen, I suppose.
  7. Stephen Fry accidentally revealed that he's playing Fiddler's Green.
  8. They'd likely never launch a new X-Men movie without Wolverine, and the O5 are also all white. I can definitely see a movie that's like First Class, but they'd take characters from all different eras. I just want a Storm solo movie at some point.
  9. So Infinite Frontier #0, allowing us 2-3 page quick hits on some of the things in the pipe. Basically, it's frame story of the Spectre showing Diana a bunch of previews of stories from across the...I'm not sure. All these all on the same Earth? Who knows. I'm actually more into it that I thought I would have been. It's certainly more positive (unless you're a fan of Jonathan Kent) that I was expecting. Although Black Adam is apparently being called Shazadam, which...no. No to the power of no. Highlights include: Barbara and Helena both discussing how they feel like they should remember something to do with "birds" as Barbara says while she's not hung her cape up permanently, she feels she can help more people as Oracle. Hippolyta has assumed the role of Wonder Woman in Diana's absence, and left Nubia as the Queen of the Amazons. I'm of mixed feelings about that. I loved John Byrne declaring that she'd been the Golden Age Wonder Woman, but I was hoping it would go to Nubia. In a surprising holdover from the New 52, the classic version of Alan Scott comes out of the closet to his kids. Quick teaser images of Ted Kord and Booster Gold and a GL squad made of Kyle, Hal, Jessica, and Guy. Post-coital Dinah and Oliver. And...WALLY IS THE FLASH AGAIN!!!!!!
  10. Hey Guys-- Just a few comments. It's absolutely okay to discuss Star Trek's approach to social issues, but this is a sensitive area for a lot of people, and so I request that you keep the Be Civil Prime Directive in mind. On a related note, given Disco's introduction of Star Trek's first transgender and non-binary characters, I would ask that you familiarize yourselves with the GLAAD Media Reference Guide, which is the tool Primetimer uses when talking about issue of gender identity and sexual orientation. Please PM me if you have any questions.
  11. Hey Guys-- Just to be clear, but going forward, spoilers don't belong in the individual episode threads. They're fair game in the Media or Book threads. Thanks!
  12. Twitter has now advanced from #ReleaseTheSnyderCut to #RestoreTheSnyderverse. I can't.
  13. "Will Punky and Travis get back together?" is a lot more interesting than "Will Punky confront her mother?"
  14. To my complete surprise, I found myself really enjoying it, mostly because Soleil Moon Frye sells the hell out of standard family sitcom material.
  15. Wanda going to the empty lot in Westview and just collapsing out of grief was honestly heartbreaking. It's late. That's all I got right now.
  16. Joker: 101 Dalmatians Edition.
  17. I honestly think Captain Marvel is one of their best origin story movies. It comes down to the chemistry between Carol and Fury (and Maria). And for all the flack that the big glow-y fight scene gets for the use of "Just a Girl," the entire point of the scene is that Carol hasn't realize how powerful she actually is until then.
  18. Filming has either started or is just about to. Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romjin have been posting things on social media from Toronto but being coy about why they're there.
  19. Speaking of both director's cuts and less-than-interesting movies, Blade Runner bores the hell out of me. It's gorgeous to look at, and I do love Vangelis' score, but it draaaaaags. For that matter, no matter how good-looking Ridley Scott's visuals, the fact he cares so little about the actors just means that when he makes a good movie, it's by accident.
  20. I always thought S4 was the show they should have been making all along. If they hadn't stretched the Xindi story across 24 episodes, it would have been fantastic instead of just "very good."
  21. Time Variance Authority. They monitor the multiverse and clip off problematic timelines. I would love it if they did, but I can't figure out how they would do it. With Mar'Vell being long dead in the contemporary MCU (as well as being a middle-aged woman instead of a younger man), they'd have a really hard time explaining a teenaged son.
  22. Does anyone know if "Agatha All Along" is available as a ringtone anywhere? I cannot get it out of my head.
  23. That's more or less exactly the trailer I was expecting.
  24. I found the actual procedural part ho-hum, but the character work was pretty good. I was really impressed by the scene where Catherine called Clarice. For two actors working against nothing, they really sold the trauma and desperation. I was also quite surprised they managed to match the cinematography of the movie so well. Not just the typography, they matched the color palate almost perfectly. I'm still not sure if the fleeting seconds of actually seeing Bill were taken from the movie or just very good recreations.
  25. Yes. Billy uses the codename "Wiccan" and has Wanda's magic, Tommy uses "Speed" and has Pietro's, well...
