  1. I heard this on NPR's "Morning Edition" and thought of TGP. China tests a social credit score...with points! https://www.npr.org/2018/10/31/662436265/china-tests-a-social-credit-score
  2. Also, keep in mind there were around 40 episodes a year back then. The Doctor, or a companion, would get the odd week off from filming.
  3. YES! I squeed a little bit. Also loved the TARDIS interior walls reminding me of the room Four went to during "The Invasion of Time" to block the aliens from reading his thoughts. I'm really enjoying this season: Better pacing, smaller scale stories, letting things develop...it's good to me.
  4. Simon wrote that sketch. This episode? Not so much. Why does every Keenan song sound like "What's Up With That?"
  5. Exactly. Phil finds a new career. Yawn. Luke is a jerk, "I'm just Manny's hot cousin." This show is more and more #WhitePeopleProblems.
  6. To be honest, my favorite era of DW ripped off every Hammer Horror film and Gothic story possible, and it was still fun. Plus, Tom Baker at his best, wide-eyed self. Every Doctor has trouble regenerating. Someone mentioned Six didn't. He tried to strangle Peri. I loved her. It was a lot of fun with the slower pace and the small alien threat to a few folks. Felt more like proper DW to me. I was never a fan of the WHIZ!BANG! Moff plots. I also adored the speech about her family, which was a callback to the Second Doctor's mention of his family in TOMB OF THE CYBERMEN. Lovely.
  7. Nope. Nope. Nope. It seems like every week there are more and more "not live" bits. And I have no idea who the auto-tune music guest of the week is. Pete? Don't get him. Never have. Don't understand why he's so beloved. Meh. This week was awful.
  8. They had to cover a lot of ground in the first episode. I thought the dialogue was a bit stiff. Murphy and Avery had excellent chemistry, and ArethaForever was great. Where is Audrey? What happened to her? I honestly cannot remember. I did watch it on first run, but it's out of syndication now.
  9. I am kind of over the show, too, for all the reasons mentioned. I'm really over Sofia, and have been for a long time. I don't get her. I don't find her funny or attractive. Bless her for being able to carry on a Charo character, though I never got Charo either. What happened to Phil's magic shop? Did he just close it up? It's like #RichPeopleProblems every darn week. I'm assuming Nerd!Sister was home from college for the summer and decided to lie on the couch and do nothing.
  10. Yeah, I made it through three episodes because I saw the two leads on THE $100,000 PYRAMID. I had no idea this was a show. I'm out. More, "Man dumb, but mean well. Wife naggy," sitcom mess. And I don't care for the kid's characters. The actors are fine, but the characters are meh. I love some Jenna Fischer, but there should be a better project for her.
  11. I first thought, "So that's what they did with the Biggest Loser ranch!" It's sweet and Amy and Nick should host all the shows on all the networks. I love his goofy laugh.
  12. I know I'm not in the demo, but Minaj I will never get. #OldWhiteGuy
  13. This and LAST MAN... stupid Fox. Does Gordon Ramsey need another hour?
  14. Terry does yell, "JOE!" I re-watched just to see. I hope this show does not get cancelled. It's really a lot of fun and would play much better in syndication than something like LAST MAN ON EARTH. Come on, Fox!
  15. It's ST:TNG season 3 ending ("Best of Both Worlds"). It might've worked if we heard a shot. I finished this season. The show will probably be back. Not me.
  16. I'm glad Todd's stuff is over, but I get it. He's a heavy guy, and those of us who are heavy guys are sometimes bowled over when anyone we find attractive would feel the same way about us. It may not have happened that much in his life, so he gets some slack from me. I'm not sure I want the human race to continue with any of these people.
  17. I remember Roger and David early on having a confrontation. David goes up so bad and Roger gives him the feed along the lines of, "Don't you have something to tell me?" Pause as David looks horrified. "Like how you're sorry?" David then blurts out, "I'm sorry!" and Roger yells, "GO TO YOUR ROOM!"
  18. Kirsten Schaal killed it this episode for me. I really think she's a great comic actor. The garbanzo bean bit had me almost falling off the sofa. My only criticism is the ending of the show has gotten too predictable. There's a mysterious hand or head or something that comes into frame and we cut to the credits. I know the show is on the bubble, but come on...let's get moving toward a resolution!
  19. Oh, Lort! That was terrible. What with the homage to "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" in the truck riding scene ("Tell 'em Large Marge sent ya!") to the Big Jim McBob and Billy Sol Hurock stuff ("They blowed up real good!") I was pretty disgusted. I never remember TXF being so bloody. Everyone is dead in the side cast, except Skinner (he better be alive) and you know CSM survives like Darth Vader. William, don't let the door hit ya where the CSM split ya! Truly an unlikable character. I haven't been this offended by a character in so long I can't remember. Despite having good stand alone stories this year, I'm done. I love Gillian, David, and the rest of the cast, but that's it. After all the money I spent on this show with the original DVD run, I'm not buying any of the last two seasons. CC, don't do any more. No more. Understand? None. Surf. Smoke. Sun. That's all you need now...the three "Ss."
  20. This might have been better off as a limited run series. The premise reminded me of a film from the early 80s (I think) called HOW TO BEAT THE HIGH COST OF LIVING with Jane Curtain and Susan St. James. Now, I'm not so sure. The characters are awfully stupid. I don't think I can do any more episodes.
  21. Is this season finished? Or are there a few more episodes left?
  22. David was the guest on this past weekend's "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" on NPR.
  23. Let's not forget The Villages, Florida. America's number one STD retirement community! I am a Caroline fan. The TJ Maxx coupon line would've come from Mrs. W1, too.
  24. GA held my attention in the morgue scene. She's an excellent actor and brought it. No one has mentioned the lights on William's bedroom wall: WHO. (World Heath Organization, Doctor, ...Are My Parents, ...Am I). Teenage boys are stupid. I was one and I remember. William also appears to be an introvert, so the PICK UP ARTIST book would be an attempt to understand what he would see in movies and the like aimed at his demo. It's completely wrong, but you think it's cool and how guys have to be. When you're older, hopefully you grow out of it and see how you should behave. Like when Bobby Hill called out Boomhauer on KING OF THE HILL. "You just hit on every woman until someone says yes?" This season has been good, not XF great, but good. And good XF is better than 90% of the stuff on TV.
