  1. My mother was given to her grandmother. A year later her mother had another child and kept that one. My mother knew the story but her mother would never acknowledge that she was her child. Her brother doesn't know that he has a sister. Her mother was a real piece of shit.
  2. In other words she's no different than the White women she looks down on. She was trying to take a short cut to the 1% in NYC by way of wealthy older man. Just like most of them. So much for working twice as hard as everyone else.
  3. A brand new cast. Women that no one has every heard of. Women in NYC who are doing exciting things. For example, a woman with a young family who works on Broadway. A woman who works with her family in the family restaurant. An immigrant family who came to NYC with nothing and created a successful business. They can still be glamorous and have nice things but that's not their whole life. Women in the age group of 35 - 55 who have had success in family and business. Anything but these dismal failures who go bankrupt just to look like they have money.
  4. NYC is the only one I'm still watching but I can't imagine these housewives shows would attract a younger crowd. There are way too many reality shows that portray people their own age and have more in common with. Exactly what age is he going for?
  5. Way to trivialize the race problem in America, Eboni. These women, as deranged as they are, have the right to live in an insulated world in the Upper East Side surrounded by "their own kind" if they want. Same as you moving to Harlem to be with "your people". Eboni certainly sucks at helping the race problem in America. It's not helpful to call people bigots without anything to back it up. She's argumentative, she uses trending terms constantly and at times incorrectly. She's jumped on the bandwagon and has no interest besides promoting herself. Does she even have any close White friends?
  6. I can see Ramona being the first one out if they are going in a different direction. But then Sonya and Luanne won't really fit. Eboni is boring. Leah is gross. I would love to see better casting. Women from all different boroughs with husbands and children. Getting all the women from Manhattan is part of the problem.
  7. Room service was closed down in hotels during Covid-19. I think she was wondering more if she could even get room service.
  8. I love how they weren't able to do the "three months later..." at the end because her pregnancy would give that lie away. They need to stop that along with the couples claiming they want the opposite of each other.
  9. I also wonder how many Black men or Latino men she dated. The younger women I know in NYC have all dated men of different races. It's a diverse city outside of the UES, UWS and the Financial District.
  10. Some people barely know they have it and others, like my grandmother, are paralyzed. She seemed to have significant symptoms already. I assume Australia's health care is as good as the US?
  11. My grandmother couldn't walk after five years. Maybe they've made progress since then. They would have to get a ramp if her illness suddenly progresses.
  12. This family looks typical based on their mother and father. A mix of races, eye color, skin color, etc. I don't see any mix with Kail's most recent kid. Especially based on her first three.
  13. It's a bit hypocritical of June to be in love with a commander. With a new wife he must have a handmaiden by now. And there's no way he's gotten this far without doing some shitty stuff.
  14. Lawrence always seems to just be puttering around his house alone so he probably jumps at the chance to talk to someone. Was Putnam's visit allowed by Canada to show Fred that he was completely abandoned by Gilead? His only hope was to turn on them. How is Nick always wondering around alone being wherever he wants to be. You'd think he was a KBG Agent from back in the day.
  15. I'm not an attorney but I did contract work for attorneys in estate planning. Besides new attorneys from top schools at the top of their classes, most attorneys do work similar to paralegals because they don't know a whole lot. They really aren't all that valuable until they have a year or two of work under them. I'm making assumptions on Eboni based on listening to her for a few shows, not just her resume. She's not all that different than the rest of the housewives in puffing up her resume. And it's no more of an assumption than claiming "maybe she didn't like the vibe".
  16. Tons of people leave high paying jobs to make $40,000 per year as a public defender? Usually it's the other way around. People start as public defenders, the bottom of the ladder, and work their way up. My point was exaggerating her importance. I guess people do that to get ahead.
  17. There are plenty of attorneys doing work that paralegals do because there are a way too many attorneys and not enough work for them. I know one who worked as a receptionist in hoping to eventually be able to actually practice. The problem was Eboni is her dishonesty. Just out of law school, she was assisting senior lawyers but claimed she was providing legal counsel in all these different fields. And if she wanted trial experience all she had to do was stay with the firm. Eventually she would be seasoned enough to get trial experience. To take such a pay cut after only a year or so sounds like there is more to it. And true there is nothing fishy about not practicing law. It can be tedious and boring and not well paid unless you put the work into it. Her overstating her experience and knowledge is irritating.
  18. She writes this about her short law career: After graduating from the College of Law in ’07, Williams specialized in family law and civil litigation, providing legal counsel on high-profile divorce, spousal support, and child custody cases. Eboni then transitioned into practicing as a public defender, as well as a private defense lawyer in North Carolina and throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. Translating that I think she meant she assisted senior attorneys by doing the grunt work. Found the law firm she worked for: They are an all service firm. I can't imagine why she left to be a public defender. They had criminal defense attorneys working at the firm. I think she's full of shit a lot of the times.

I thought last season they had the wife working in a big law firm that did not do criminal law. They reluctantly let her do a pro bono case last year. There's no way that firm assigned her this case and she would always have the right to recuse on conflict of interests. Did she quit to run for office maybe?
  20. She's actually a divorcee, not a spinster. Pretty typical these days being a single divorced woman in her 30's.
  21. Russian ballet teachers. They will not coddle 12 year olds who think they are the next Baryshnikov or Misty Copeland.
  22. Probably because we are so used to seeing plastic surgery faces like Nicole Kidman. I like when they use regular people who look like how most of us look. So Mare has the daughter and grandson. It looks like maybe her son, the father, was killed? Nothing about the child's mother. The four generation family living in the same house is a little bit of a puzzle.
  23. Yara is pretty honest too. She also mentioned how fat Americans were and the portion sizes that they eat. She told Javi exactly what she thought and what was wrong with him but he was not Mike so he actually worked on issues that bothered her. Calling someone a spinster is from the 1800's first, and not comparable to over eating and overweight. I think there are language miscommunications and cultural differences that they all should discuss. I'm sure they do plenty of "in my country" but the show doesn't put it on. Natalie needs to work on the way she speaks and asking him to change his diet is a lost cause. On the other extreme though, is to pretend like there's nothing wrong with the way he doesn't take care of himself.
  24. Natalie and Yara are only slightly better. Yara was constantly using "so much". "It is so much cold", "I am so much happy". But they are way ahead of most Americans who only speak English. People from Eastern Europe and Russia sometimes speak 3 languages. They never mentioned the cultural differences and language issues. When Natalie tells Mike he's fat and needs to change his diet, she's seen as controlling. Culturally Americans pretend everyone is great and no one needs to change. No, you're not fat! Yes, he's fat and needs to change his diet. They are more blunt and honest in some cultures.
