  1. I voted to keep LVP and Kyle, although I would like to see Kathryn back as well. I just don't feel strongly enoough about it to vote for her. I voted to get rid of Yolanda, Eileen and Lisar. If I could only choose one to get rid of it would be Yolanda. I would also like to see Erika gone but not strongly enough to vote for her. I don't think I'd bring any past housewife back. Season 1 Camille would be great (now there was a villain who was fun) but the fake season 2 version bored and annoyed me because I knew she was being fake. Her claws still come out on occasion in interviews when discussing Kelsey but she's tame when it comes to the housewives. I liked that Joyce wasn't scared to take anyone on or afraid to break the fourth wall, but she didn't quite fit in with the show and she could be quite irritating in her individual segments (anyone remember the gun range?).
  2. I agree with zoeysmom. Exaggerating is a form of lying. We're all guilty of it from time to time but Yolanda does it to an excessive degree, both in terms of frequency and severity, and I think some of these "exaggerations" go past the point of embellishment and into the territory of straight up lying. She said or implied that Ken assaulted her when we all saw the video. What he did was in no way indicative of assault/physical harm/etc. She has also claimed that she hasn't driven in x amount of years when we've seen her driving in that time period. She says she hasn't gotten out of bed in x amount of months but she somehow filmed a reality show not in her bed during that time. Those are lies. They may also be exaggerations of the extreme kind but there is so little truth in them that I'm not even sure if they qualify.
  3. I'm sure the exact numbers are not accurate but I think it's pretty safe to say that LVP is a fan favorite, although I think she's shed some fans each season since season three. I wouldn't trust one poll or multiple polls from one site, but she wins practically every poll on every site. I think that's a good indication that she's popular among viewers.
  4. I don't think LVP was saying anything negative about the kids, even in her reveal of what Mohamed said off camera. At the time only Yolanda was claiming the children had Lyme. Bella had not yet claimed to have it publicly, and to my knowledge Anwar still hasn't publicly said he has it. I think that if Bella had already done her interview where she claimed to have Lyme LVP would never have revealed that Mohamed said she and Anwar didn't. She meant only to discredit Yolanda, not the kids. Inadvertently, though, she did end up discrediting the kids because Bella came out later and said she has Lyme, and since Anwar hasn't denied it (to my knowledge) it seems he either wants the world to believe he has it (most likely to support his mother) or he actually does believe he has it. I still think LVP made an error in judgment when she answered Kyle's question the way she did since it obviously put Mohamed in an awkward position, however, I'm not convinced it was a calculated move. She did seem rather uncomfortable with the conversation and did try to shut it down.
  5. The bottom line is that Brandi is a proven liar so I don't think anyone can trust anything that comes out of her mouth. It's not that everything she says is a lie but because she's lied so many times it's impossible to tell a truth from a lie. She also has conviction when she lies and does provide false details. I'm thinking of the lie about Adrienne suing her or the supposed meeting to take down LVP before the season 2 reunion, which never happened. Mo and LVP both deny that Mo said anything about Joanna's odor, and while I'm sure LVP twists the truth sometimes to make herself look better, I don't think she's a compulsive liar, and Mo has never been proven a liar so I would believe either of them over Brandi. If it were Brandi's word against Yolanda's, another proven liar, I honestly wouldn't know who to believe, but I think I'd take almost anyone else's word over Brandi's on this RH franchise.
  6. I just think that if there are only 13 episodes it's best to air those episodes together instead of breaking them up into two seasons (or seasons part 1 and 2). Usually when something like this is done they actually film all of the episodes before the seventh season and then withhold airing the final episodes until the next year. This allows the network to get an extra year out of the series and it also means they don't need to renegotiate with the actors for an eighth season because it's technically part of the seventh season just aired a year later. If they need the extra time to film (as in an entire year not just a few extra months because then they could just delay season seven until the summer and air the episodes together) then by all means delay the final six episodes but this would be a departure from what other shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad have done in the past.
  7. What's sad is Rinna is 52 years old and drunk tweeting/instagraming/texting/calling. She really should know better at this point.
  8. Ugh. I really hope not but I'm sure they want to stretch out this cash cow as long as they can.
  9. There's no way Elizabeth Keen is permanently dead. The actress is having a baby so they needed her off screen for a while. Also, if they were going to kill her off they would solve the mystery of Red's connection to her. Without resolving that her story arc is incomplete and it makes no sense from a narrative perspective to get rid of her.
  10. I don't think people not wanting to accept that Mo and Lisa are on the outs has anything to do with how it would reflect on Lisa. If anything it would reflect poorly on Mo. I think it has more to do with people not wanting to see a friendship end, especially due to Yolanda and over an issue that they believe Lisa was telling the truth about (most don't believe Bella and Anwar have Lyme including me). I hope Mo and Lisa are still friends but I believe that things have broken down between them. Yolanda was probably exaggerating about them not speaking for 8 months (she is the queen of exaggeration after all) but I think the change in their Twitter behavior and the statement he released clearly points to them being on the outs. I think it really has more to do with the kids than Yolanda. In discrediting Yolanda's assertion that Bella and Anwar have Lyme Lisa was also discrediting his kids. Although I don't think it had happened at the point of filming, Bella has come out and said she has CLD. The kids may truly believe they have it or they want others to believe it. Either way they wouldn't want anyone to say they didn't have it. Whether Mo confided in Lisa that the kids didn't have it or she misconstrued a statement he made as they both have stated she was still discrediting his children and I'm sure they're not happy about it. If forced to choose I'm not sure Mo would choose Yo over Lisa but he certainly would his children over her. Lisa should have known better than to answer that question as she did but I don't think it's something that necessarily has to end a friendship. She has since apologized and backtracked so I hope that they can mend fences because it did seem like they were good friends.
  11. This had to be one of the most difficult reunions to plan seating for because while there are teams united by a common "enemy" each member of the team gets along with different castmates outside of their common enemy. Lisar and Eileen are a team but while Eileen is friendly with Yolanda and Erika, Lisar is not (she's the one having Twitter wars with Yolanda). Yolanda and Erika are a team and neither like LVP but Yolanda is on better terms with LVP than Lisar, who can't be on the same couch as LVP because they're feuding. So Erika, who prefers Lisar to LVP gets put on the couch with LVP because Yolanda is on LVP's couch. Kathryn should be on the same couch as LVP and Kyle as those three are a team but then the other couch would only have two people and after Erika's comments on the finale (which Kathryn may have seen a rough cut of before the reunion) she may have issues with Erika. It's total mess. They needed three couches with LVP, Kyle and Kathryn on one, Erika and Yolanda on another and Eileen and Lisar on the third.
  12. So I've been trying to figure out what exactly went down with LVP and Lisar and I think the only thing I'm 100% sure of is that LVP is telling the truth in that she did say "I thought you were going to bring Kyle into it." There is no way I believe her words were "Why didn't you bring Kyle into it?" She's not that transparent or stupid. What isn't clear is her intent when she made that statement because it could have been said in different ways. LVP could have been saying, as she claims, "[Phew] I thought you were going to bring Kyle into it" (insert relieved tone of voice). Or should have said it, as Lisar remembers, "I thought you were going to bring Kyle into it. [Why didn't you?]" (insert accusatory tone of voice). Kyle said in Dubai that she believes LVP used the words "I thought" rather than "Why didn't" but she believes her intent was malicious. Kyle just isn't explaining herself well, and Lisar and Eileen (who wasn't even there) are hurting their own case by focusing on the words used rather than their meaning. I believe that Lisar believed or came to believe that LVP meant it maliciously and in her memory she has twisted LVP's words to be "Why didn't" instead of "I thought", which is less ambiguous. I truly believe she believes that LVP said "Why didn't". I have to wonder if Lisar always believe that LVP's intent was malicious or did she later come to that conclusion because it fit Eileen's narrative that LVP is manipulative, a narrative that was beneficial to Lisar because she could use it to shift some of the blame onto LVP for the Munchausen comments. If she believed at the time that LVP was being malicious it begs the question of why she didn't tell Kyle sooner. She and Kyle are friends IRL so it doesn't make sense to me that she wouldn't tell her at the time that LVP was trying to throw her under the bus. I think it's more likely that in talking with Eileen she came to this conclusion much later. That doesn't mean LVP's intent was ever innocent (I don't know) but it's likely to me that Lisar took it innocently at first (and likely for quite a while), which does give some credibility to LVP's claim that it wasn't meant maliciously because memories get less accurate over time. However, the fact that Kyle initially assumed LVP was being malicious and called her out on it at the time (which LVP doesn't deny) lends credibility to the assertion that LVP wasn't saying it innocently, though if she did mean it maliciously I don't know why she would bring it up to Kyle at all. The fact is we'll never know her intent and Kyle is fine with it either way so these ladies should all move on. If LVP is as conniving as Lisar and Eileen think she is then there has to be other more recent examples of her manipulation. This issue is not going to be the one that brings down LVP and it only makes Eileen and Lisar look bad because the subject doesn't care and they're arguing the wrong point anyway.
  13. This. As i said with regard to Jon, aging the characters up to seventeen made a lot of sense—I really feel like all of the characters in the book read as though they're a few years older than they actually are and in some cases more than a few years—but they really should have cast actors that looked like they were "hollywood 16/17" meaning they really look 18 or 19. Both Kit Harrington and Richard Madden were in their early to mid twenties and looked it. In fact, both of them looked even a bit older than their actual ages, IMO. They're both fine actors, and I agree with shimpy that Harrington has grown into the role, but both look ridiculous when playing immature boys. Season two and five were the weakest seasons of the show. I feel like the best of season five was far better than anything we saw in season two, however, the worst was so much worse that overall it was the worst season. I actually almost gave up on the show after season two. Had my love of season one not possessed to the read the books I probably wouldn't have continued on. I hate to beat a dead horse (horrible expression—remind me to think of another equivalent expression when I'm not quite so tired) but I'm one of those who vehemently hated Talisa, in part because the character herself was so problematic but also because who storyline was awful and her affect on Robb's character. As other have pointed out, Talisa as a character was unrealistic for the setting, completely two dimensional, and one of the biggest clichés in all of fantasy literature. I mean, she literally could have stepped off the page of some historical harlequin romance novel. The romance between her and Robb was so completely unbelievable, shallow and predictable. And don't get me started on the melodramatic, manipulative decision to make her pregnant before killing her off. It was such a Hollywood move and so beneath this show. Perhaps it's not fair, but I also blame her character for her affect on Robb. His actions in regards to her made me hate him to the point where I didn't care if he died. He purposefully, out of sheer selfishness, decided to put his men's lives in danger so that he could marry for true love. He didn't deserve to be king, nor did he deserve any loyalty from his men once he did that. The only reason I didn't want him to die on the show was because it meant the Lannisters were winning and because it would hurt characters I actually cared about. At least Book Robb, though he also made bad decisions, was more sympathetic. He was grieving over the deaths of his brothers and put himself into a rock and hard place situation. He was at least remorseful for his actions instead of self righteous about them. I wish the writers had just gone with the Jeyne plot line. I know it wasn't as melodramatic but I feel like they had a lot to work with in terms of her family's scheming and the questions that could be raised about her involvement in it. They could have fleshed that out more instead of giving us the Talisa mess.
  14. I saw season one and two before reading books one through three so I can't say for certain but I think I would have known Bran and Rickon weren't really dead just like I knew the Hound didn't kill Arya with the axe in book three despite not having been spoiled by the show. I might have thought Jamie was dead, though, had I not seen the show first. I did think Theon was dead at the end of book two, especially since he didn't show up in book three, until I saw season three of the show (or maybe the promos if he was in those). I read the first three books between seasons two and three, but I saved book four, which he also doesn't appear in anyway, until before season four and didn't read book five until shortly before season five aired. I would have been shocked when he showed up in book five otherwise. I wish I hadn't been spoiled by the show because I hated Theon with the fire of a thousand suns in book two (and season two) so I was really upset that he wasn't dead, especially since the torture scenes weren't fun to watch. I dreaded his reappearance in the books but when he did show up not only did GRRM skip the torture scenes but his chapters became some of my favorite of the entire series so I was upset for nothing.
  15. I read LVP's blog too and I think she was saying Lisar was upset that Yolanda would miss her own kids' (meaning Gigi and Bella) fashion show because she was sick but was well enough to go to a Lyme Gala where she was honored in the same city. Yolanda has mentioned multiple times how she had to miss her daughters' runway shows because of her illness though I think she has gone to some. I don't think Lisar's daughters do runway modeling although it seems they both are interested in being models.
  16. From some of the comments the TPTB made I think that the depiction of Jamie is mostly their responsibility. NCW is playing their version of the character. If he had been totally off the mark you would think the director would have directed him to act his scenes differently. I also liked Jon as a character the first season but I still think Kit Harrington was miscast. He doesn't have the right look for the book character and on top of that he looks too old for the part. They aged his character up to 17 I believe (a decision I'm totally on board with) but Harrington was in his early twenties and looked it so some of his behavior came across a bit ludicrous.
  17. I agree Jon/Arya would gross the audience out more than Jon/Sansa I'm just saying they're no less or more likely because of their more distant relation, at least in the books. It doesn't seem like there are that many rootable ships on this show. The only super popular pairing I can think of will never get married (and Bran would not be having a vision of them even if they did) and that's Jamie/Brienne. The only plausible one I can think of is Jon/Dany. Otherwise I imagine the explosion will not be a positive one. If this is true and I'm doubtful. Still fun to speculate.
  18. I think there would still be an "ew, she's my sister" reaction to Sansa (and an "ew, he's my brother" for Sansa) even though they weren't close, or there should be if this was the real world. I think if we took a poll nearly all siblings who were never close would still be disgusted at the idea of hooking up with their sibling even if it were discovered that they weren't blood related. Of course this is GRRM's world where siblings sometimes do find each other attractive so it's entirely possible that Jon and one of his siblings could end up together. I doubt it will be Arya but not because they had a close relationship—that hasn't been a deterrent in this world before and it wasn't a deterrent in the original outline—but because of Arya's age and where her storyline has taken her. Also, I think D&D would have made a different casting decision has they known it was coming. The only reason I can't completely discount the remote possibility is that it was Martin's original intention. If that spoiler is true then Jon/Arya would be the most likely to make the audience explode in a bad way. I'm not sure about Jon/Sansa because I've spent so much time on this forum where that pairing seems to be generally accepted as a possibility although not universally liked. I could see the larger audience exploding though. It could also have nothing to do with Jon although I'll admit that's where my mind went first. I didn't see the original comment so I don't know if it could possibly be interpreted as exploding in a positive way. I know of several shows where the audience exploded when a popular paring finally got together.
  19. I hadn't realized SUR had been around that long. I confused the lounge opening with the restaurant opening as well. I think it's because Villa Blanca, which apparently is newer than SUR, was featured more on RHBH in the beginning. If they mentioned SUR at all before the lounge storyline it was only briefly.
  20. The thing that makes me most question whether LVP really tried to get Lisar to throw Kyle under the bus is that it seems like an incredibly stupid move. Too stupid for LVP. LVP knows Lisar is good friends with Kyle and has been for years. Although the show has presented LVP and Lisar as being closer friends and downplayed Kyle's relationship with Lisar it's my understanding that behind the scenes Lisar is better friends with Kyle. Even if Kyle and Lisar have been on the outs because of Lisar's feud with Kim, they're not publicly fighting and don't seem to hate or dislike each other. It would be stupid to think Lisar wouldn't eventually tell Kyle that LVP tried to get her to throw her under the bus. On top of that, LVP and Kyle are either genuinely friends again (though I'm sure both are still wary of the other) or they have an alliance. It doesn't make sense for LVP to go after Kyle. The Brandi situation was much more plausible in that Brandi was LVP's close friend and Brandi was never friends with Kyle and in fact always seemed to dislike her. LVP would have had no reason to think Brandi was going to turn on her and side with Kyle at the time tabloidgate supposedly happened. LVP was also on the outs with Kyle at the time. The reason I never believed tabloidgate happened, at least in the way Brandi told it, was because Brandi is a lying liar who lies. See the Adrienne lawsuit as an example. Mentioning Brandi in a cease and desist letter meant for someone else and sending Brandi a copy turns into Adrienne is suing Brandi. Without independent corroboration I'm not taking Brandi's word for it, especially when Yolanda and Carlton said they were there that day and didn't see it happen, and Carlton seemed to be convinced that it didn't happen. I'm going to wait to see how the next couple episodes play out before making a final decision on whether I think LVP tried to get Lisar to throw Kyle under the bus (maybe there will be a missing piece revealed that will make it make sense), but at this point I'm definitely skeptical.
  21. Actually, Mauricio seemed eager to talk about it. Kyle was visibly uncomfortable and Alexia finally shut her down.
  22. Maybe they'll include it with the inevitable box set of the entire series once it's finished. That's the kind of bonus feature that would possess some who already collected the seasons individually to pick up the complete series box set.
  23. Watching the first episode, I was once again reminded of how great this show can be. The first season was by far my favorite and I don't foresee that changing with this rewatch. The opening scene is so creepy and a great setup for the series. I think most of the White Walker scenes were well done in the show even if the White Walkers in the beginning didn't quite fit the description of them in the books. The casting was, of course, superb. Mark Addy does such a great job as Robert that it doesn't even bother me that he's much too short for the role. I also love Sean Bean as Ned. I know that some people aren't happy with his casting but I think he does a great job. Maybe I would feel differently if I read the books first. I truly don't mind the changes they made to Cersei in the show, I just wish they hadn't sacrificed Jamie's characterization in the process. Given what we learn about his character in book/season three, the line reading of "The things I do for love" was really off. I wish there had been more bitterness or regret or something to indicate he wasn't a total psychopath. Pushing a child out the window is obviously a horrible thing to do no matter the circumstances but it's made even worse when the person doing it sounds so nonchalant about it. On a shallow note, NCW looks perfect for the part of Jamie, although I do wonder what his doppelgänger, Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost), would have done with the part had he been available. Theon, the attempted dire wolf puppy killer, sucks. I don't remember him snapping at Robb like that in the book though it's been a few years since I read it. Robb, even as early as the pilot, comes across as a different character than his book counterpart. He's not as nice or likable. Or maybe it's that I already know what's coming with Talisa and it's coloring my perception of him. Kit Harrington is one of the few casting missteps, and it's only made more painfully obvious when compared to most of the rest of the cast. Emilia Clark wasn't bad in this episode but she's also one of the weaker actors in the series. Harry Lloyd is great as Viserys but I'm in the minority in that I don't feel any sympathy for him. Maybe I will as the episodes progress but I know I didn't the first time around. Jason Moma as Drogo is another great casting choice. Like Shimpy, I'm glad they changed the sex scene between Dany and Drogo from how it was portrayed in the books. I agree that it was unrealistic and I think it was actually a bit insulting. While GRRM is a brilliant storyteller in many regards, his sex scenes are awful. I look forward to watching more episodes, although I'm dreading a few scenes.
  24. This is what I meant when I said it was a reference to Jon/Arya from the original outline. Jon has a certain type and his type are women that share traits with Arya. I don't think GRRM is going to go there with the two of them and I really hope not but you never know. Certainly he's not going with Tyrion/Arya.
  25. I think when someone talks negatively about another person behind their back it's implied that the conversation should not be shared with the subject of the conversation, however, when said conversation is filmed for a reality show all bets are off. Kathryn, if she wanted to be on good terms with LVP, had to tell her because it was inevitable that LVP would later see/hear the conversation and be upset with Kathryn for not telling her and/or for being a party to the conversation even though Kathryn didn't say anything negative about LVP herself. Erika put Kathryn in a bad spot so I can't blame Kathryn for spilling the beans to LVP. If this was something Erika told Kathryn off camera it would be a different story.
