  1. I don't mind them doing Six of Crow as a standalone, but I think they could certainly adapt the Ravka characters into the Six of Crow storyline similar to how they weaved the Crows into the first season. It would just be odd to suddenly make Alina a supporting character, though. The Ravka story has gone so off the rails, that I don't think they could just pick back up with the King of Scars duology, without some finesse in between.
  2. I was sad that he wasn't in the Enola Holmes sequel. He was great as Mycroft. That chaos family needed him as a straight man to keep them grounded.
  3. Tom wasn't wearing his ring when he was out in public, including Logan's birthday, but put it back on when he was at home. Shiv had her ring on the whole episode.
  4. Yes, I really enjoyed the revelation that Eddie's long suffering "good guy" shtick never paid off. He made a good point about always bending to Billy's whim, but then when he was no longer under Billy's shadow, and could no longer blame him for his mediocrity, he still never made a name for himself. And for all his "devotion" to Camila, he didn't go to her funeral. I'm surprised he did the documentary, because he came off pretty terrible in the end. I did not see his character going in that direction at all! I seriously thought he'd be the devil on their shoulder to make things interesting. I loved him. And it seemed like in his final scene he was discovering another act to set up for a spinoff, which I would watch for him. I thought the overall story was kind of weak, but Riley Keough was excellent in the role, and her chemistry with Sam Claflin was lightning in a bottle. They really sizzled in all of their "let's eat this microphone together" performances.
  5. The men’s competition was fire! I was on the edge of my seat. Ilia needs to hire Jason Brown for his coaching team, because those component scores were yikes! He barely cracked 80 points, when everyone else in that league were 90+
  6. Yeah, I wonder if "Whatever Team Russia Called themselves in 2022" will get disciplined for the doping and have to come up with a new "Not-Team Russia" name. Hopefully WADA will intervene and handle all drug testing for those athletes, instead of letting it filter through RUSADA again.
  7. I did a rewatch of season 1 right before season 2 was released, and just made it through the season 2 episodes. There was a very obvious drop in quality between the two seasons. The season 1 story is still silly, but it's a fairly tight story. Everything seemed to weave together so that the final episode felt like a legitimate payoff, and the pacing within each episode was well done. Season 2 felt like they were told they were very likely to be canceled, so they just threw all of the spaghetti at the wall, and let it land where it land. Was there fan service? Yes. Was there epic meme worthy material? The best. I'm still laughing at the 10 minute scene of random extras seeing who could spit their blood capsule the furthest, in front of a stain glass window that looked like a preschool art project. But I would never seriously recommend this season to a friend with the promise that it's good. I don't care if this show gets a season 3, but I really hope they get the green light on the Six of Crows adaptation, because the casting for the Crows is just so fantastic, and they're obviously the only storyline that the showrunners care about.
  8. Last season Cain and Leduc were close to getting two US teams on the podium, but then Cain had that awful concussion. In Ladies news, Isabeau just missed the podium, and both Bradie and Amber fell out of the Top 10, so I think the US will only get 2 slots next year, unless they earn a third spot through outside channels (I think Ashley Wagner did this in the past.)
  9. Way to go Ilia! Even with his quad, it’ll be tough to top Shoma, but he’s in decent position for it. His short has really improved this season.
  10. Okay, Kirigan speculating whether Alina had Mal’s bone in her yet, right after we saw them sleep together for the first time last episode, had me laughing like a 13 year old. This episode was not good. Maybe it’s because I’ve been mostly tuned out of the Ravka stuff. I just don’t care about these dozen people fighting another dozen people. Ravka last season felt like an actual place, but this season it’s felt more like a group of kids making an amateur war movie at an abandoned castle. The couldn’t even dub all the prop guns. If they didn’t have the budget for it, they should have cut the runtime and drowned it out with an over emotional score playing over slow motion extreme closeup battle scenes to hide the small scale. They must have spent all of their money on Ketterdam this season. Everyone spent half the episode wondering where the Crows were, and I thought the same thing. Except for Matthias (who I guess isn’t technically a Crow.) I actually love Matthias and Nina, and their story last season was my favorite. But it was a big mistake trying to keep him around this season while he was alone in prison. His scenes feel shoehorned in, and haven’t added anything to the story at all. If they wanted to keep him around, there were better ways they could have done it (put another main character in Hellgate, have the Crows need a person on the inside for some of their heists…) even the Pekka addition feels largely played out at this point.
  11. I'm wondering if they retooled the last episode, and pulled the scenes with Mando and Bo from this episode so that we weren't only following the doctor. This episode was on the short side, while the last episode was longer than usual.
  12. I want to say that she crashed into his car, while on the phone freaking out over possibly dating her dad.
  13. Isn't that the joke they introduced in the first episode of the season? That Sophie might actually be dating her dad? (Not that it still isn't gross...) The welcome committee bit set up like a heist was kind of fun, but I couldn't with the Sophie/Val story. That dress was very Nordstrom Rack. I can imagine the two randos picking it for an event, but a professional stylist? Val. No.
  14. I didn't get a chance to watch any of the skaters, but based on the scores, Isabeau is in a decent position for making the podium. 2nd through 4th place are separated by about half a point, and their seasons best for the Free Skate are all similar in value.
  15. My problem is that Mal feels like an "endgame" love interest. He suits Alina and is a good man, and I'm not sure what their status was at this point in the books, but it feels like they slapped them together at the end of season 1, in case the show wasn't renewed. Otherwise, the pairing is kind of boring, and it pushes credibility that her feelings for him are genuine, when she's juggling a third love interest. Sure, her engagement to the Pirate Prince-now-King is an alliance of convenience, but turn your flirt down, girl!
  16. I had to laugh when Kaz was tormenting Pekka Rollins over letting his son be his weakness, and then immediately sliding over Inej's contract and demand he free her... platonically. Inej is his weakness and I feel like he just played his hand. At least Inej has the skills and smarts to outrun Pekka's men.

  18. Baby registries give completion discounts. You get 10-15% off your order, when you purchase during a certain window based off your due date. You also get sample boxes and diaper discounts. It makes sense to make a registry every time you have a kid, regardless of whether you advertise it to friends and family, just to get the discount.
  19. If they're going to raise the age requirement for seniors, I think it makes sense to raise the age limit for juniors too, because they'd be shifting an existing transition window. What they're really going to have to evaluate is changing the limitation on skills that can be performed at the junior level, because as the article points out, female skaters mature earlier, and will be impacted most by the rule change. They're basically shaving two years off female skater's senior career, which I think is a good thing for protecting athletes, like the Sambo-70 girls, but a detriment to advancing the women's side of the sport the way the quad revolution has for the men's. Maybe we'll really see the women's side lean into artistry, since they'll have the extra seasons having to perfect they're component scores, since they'll hit the ceiling on technical content pretty quickly.
  20. It's the same actress. I think she lost some weight, or her face thinned out a bit.
  21. ISU Results Page for Worlds Competition starts tomorrow night with the time difference.
  22. A Six of Crow spinoff may be in the works. They are by far the more entertaining and engaging scenes, and I find myself only wanting to follow their stories (I only read the Six of Crow duology, not the rest of the Grisha-verse) but I think Shadow and Bone needs the Crows to survive. Maybe the plan is to adapt Six of Crow (what's left of that book) as it's own season, and then continue to weave the characters into Alina's story like they've done thus far.
  23. Sid is technically considered a candidate for the father, so I don't think we're supposed to consider her permanent. In fact, I'm surprised they actually had them get married.
  24. I liked her in In the Heights, but I haven't watched her Scream movies. I'm bitter that Leslie Grace's career stalled after the whole Batgirl debacle. She was a real highlight in In the Heights too.
  25. I agree. Daisy Jones and the Six had an existing fanbase from the book, but the media has leaned in hard on the granddaughter of Elvis playing a rock star. Riley, fortunately, has lived up to the hype, but Amazon is definitely playing the nepotism card to get more eyeballs on screens.
