  1. I'm sure after a whole year together, they're qualified to give relationship advice, y'know, what's worked for them over the weeks.
  2. When I consider individuals moving overseas, it's one thing. When I consider Americans (or anyone else) flooding an area and getting prices jacked up so that the local people can't afford places, I'm uncomfortable. Hell, in the US, we complain about Californians, and they're our countrymen! Australia to the Netherlands I'd love to know how long these new couples last, especially in foreign lands.
  3. It ain't easy being a cat, what with all that licking and sleeping and keeping your staff in line.
  4. Something didn't seem right, so I did the lookup myself. Leaf and Feather Farms
  5. I laughed when Mr. Johnson used the curling iron to wand people entering the festival.
  6. Lyon, France At first, I had negative feelings for the glamorous-life wife, but in her TH, she came off as being reasonable. The place they got was a good compromise. I thought the first place was gaudy. (That's Miami style?) Too much space, trim, and sparkly things. Nice couple. Hope they find their way to Paris someday.
  7. From Houston to Michigan to Run a Bed and Breakfast This zookeeper couple wanted to open a nature-themed bed and breakfast in rural Michigan. They wanted acreage so that their guests could enjoy birding and hiking. At the first home, they thought the basement might make a good place for the guest(s). Just a basement. I'm not understanding how this would bring in much income. As zookeepers, I somehow doubt that they will be working from home in Michigan, and there was no mention of jobs locally. The wife stated that maybe they would do a glamping thing at first. At one point she commented that for $360K, one home with 10 acres would have to be move-in ready. 🙄 They ended up getting a place with 10 acres. When they pulled up to it, the husband said that, "it looks like a house". They got it for $239K. Three bedrooms, two baths. She will use one room as her crafting room. They hope to build Accessory Dwelling Units for guests. Imagine arriving here at the start of your vacation. Maybe you adventurous researchers can look up Leaf and Father Farms in Cement City and let us know how the business is going. Maybe even book a visit. As a private residence that the couple wanted to turn into a small wildlife habitat, this made sense although I would still wonder what they would do for an income. But a B&B? Do they have other money stashed away for this venture? Talk about a half-baked business plan. Or a half-baked HH back story.
  8. Do female cats have better aim than male cats?
  9. Has Sass ever finished? Has he ever started? I didn't get the impression he got far with the car ghost. I'm still trying to imagine a ghost baby.
  10. Gone is the gold front tooth from last season.
  11. "Stay away from my butt crack!" This is becoming as common a phrase on HGTV as "The room feels really cozy."
  12. Let me see, one has not had sex in 30 years, the other didn't have satisfying sex when she was having sex, a hundred years ago. I say they have all the chemistry they need. You don't suppose Hetty could get pregnant, do you? And don't talk about her age. You know nothing about ghosts and what kind of special abilities they might have. 😏
  13. I suspected that this woman and Adrian are old acquaintances, if not friends.
  14. A common expression that comes up when there's a discussion of another state's low rankings in education, housing, poverty, medical care, etc. compared to the rest of the nation is "Thank God for Mississippi!" Whenever a city has a greater-than-average crime rate than the other cities of the US, it's often described as having "one of the highest crime rates" in the US. Technically, true, but misleading. So if my city has the average amount of crime and yours has 1% more crime and another city has 150% more crime, both are frequently labeled as having "one of the highest crime rates" in the US. I've only recently come to learn this. I would guess that mathematically, it's possible that half the cities in America has "one of the highest crime rates" in one category or another. Yeah, it's true, though. Laurel has a lot of property crime.
  15. The one thing I liked in this episode was that Eileen was honest with her shrink. I know that she's all about truth, but as we know, TV writers usually like to show protagonists being super macho when it comes to the aftermath of traumatic experiences. I was pleasantly surprised when Eileen stated that she hadn't been sleeping well and couldn't concentrate but claimed to be fine, after all, she'd already been embedded in Afghanistan. When the doctor talked about PTSD and mentioned insomnia and panic attacks as symptoms, I didn't expect Eileen to let that sink in and then admit to having had a panic attack on the flight to Alaska. That was about it with this episode for me. The investigation gets more twisted and unless characters are memorable, I don't strain myself to keep up. The months-long absence of this show didn't help, either. I don't know how much longer I will continue to be a viewer.
  16. Not understanding the discussion about 1970 and "Love Story". Why couldn't Flower have seen the movie in later years as a ghost?
  17. His school is where he'll be going to teach English. I don't think he's going to culinary school. Maybe I missed something. She'll be remotely managing a pet sitting business. Hmm... Nice couple.
  18. That's what I've like about this family. Luke to me was like a mannequin. He was always being carried around and talked to but his parents seemed to speak for him. Now he's speaking for himself. Charlotte had moments in front of the camera when she was smaller. I've appreciated how they've mostly backgrounded the older three kids. I've seen some footage of late of the twins. That's what's made me curious about the ever-silent middle child. It'd be funny to learn that she's the biggest blabbermouth of the bunch, but nevertheless, camera shy.
  19. I thought the lowers were a dark blue, but, as you said, it might've been the lighting. I'm re-doing my kitchen, and choosing the cabinet colors was the hardest decision. I considered nearly every color. If I were selling the home, I would've gone with something more trendy. When you look at what you've seen come and go in the last 20 years just watching House Hunters, you realize how quickly styles come and go. Remember when cherry cabinets was hot? Not too many years back, people were staining their floors a very dark brown. Now they're going back to a natural color. Wood cabinets are back, too. I have a feeling tuxedo cabinets will be a thing of the past really soon. I was relieved with this house when Jenny didn't talk about painting the brick. I figured the kitchen would end up with sage cabinets, but that color showed up in the bedroom. Has anyone seen or heard Dave and Jenny's middle child speak? I wonder if she's the introvert in a house full of extroverts.
  20. Maybe the father's completing the rest of a contract. I, too, was curious about this pace nonsense and checked Wikipedia. I wouldn't move to a place whose population is 83% of my current city's if I was trying to get away from the hustle and bustle. And the weren't even living in Modesto, but in a city 20% smaller than Chattanooga. Crime, homelessness, politics, cost of living, and natural disasters are tops among stated reasons that people are leaving California. I suspect they concocted the story they did so as not to offend. I liked when the father walked through the saloon doors and declared that the kitchen wasn't big enough for both of them. That final scene of the father raking all those leaves while four able bodies watched...c'mon HH, you can stage a scene better than that.
  21. I believe she felt overshadowed by Janine's accomplishments and didn't feel encouraged to achieve as Janine was. I'm starting a collection to purchase Barbara that gift card. Anyone in?
  22. Alexandria, MN I didn't think the woman was all that picky, especially when she liked that "custom" kitchen ("absolutely phenomenal") that she said "literally" looked like it came from a magazine. The tired-looking blue countertops and tile floors were modern? I'm sure when you've experienced homelessness and lean times with your young son, by the time you can afford to purchase a home, you want to give him more. That didn't stop me from chuckling, though, when she talked about getting Jackson a space of his own. Yeah, we used to call that space of your own your bedroom, which you shared with a sibling. I'm happy for the woman and her son. Florida to Pittsburgh There's nothing that teenagers wants more than to have their father become a stay-at-home dad. Too bad they didn't get his often asked for Victorian. Now he can't see one or both of his sons come down the "regal" staircase in a ball gown. Definitely not a "cookie cutter" couple.
  23. Sweden to Thailand Something that struck me as odd was how the husband dismissed cooking facilities in their living quarters because they had a restaurant. So they would eat each meal at the restaurant? Would she cook up one thing for the family and the staff could cook up menu meals for the guests? Would she be carrying food back and forth from the restaurant and home? Also, she liked having a pool for the kids. I can't see having kids traipsing around the pools and restaurant where there are guests. But maybe theirs will be a more communal establishment than any place I've ever stayed at.
  24. Atlanta Lady wanted 6 bedrooms: one, a glam room so she could put on her makeup; two, a workout room; three, an office, although she remarked once about having a media room. And three more for guests. Her budget was $800K. After looking at homes that partially fulfilled her wants, she ends up getting the three bedroom with no garage and street parking for $599K. 🙄 Dear HH/HHI: Please, more shows with house hunters who like to think of themselves as divas or influencers or media stars, particularly in Atlanta and Mexico. And for good measure, throw in Americans in the UK who want old world charm with back yards, large kitchens and closets, and open concept, particularly in a $1500/month budget. I just can't get enough of these.
  25. When are people going to stop with all the cosmetic crap? Sausage lips; nostrils so narrow, it's a wonder she can breathe; Groucho Marx eyebrows. Surely her natural aging would look better than that.
