  1. As soon as they were talking about Highlander, I kept saying: "Please let Clancy Brown reference everything." So beautiful! I can completely relate to both Murray and the JPT. Yes, we have Facebook and Snapchat these days. But really, I maybe interact with around 12 people from high school and those are the ones I've known since elementary school. People move, they have their own families. They lose jobs and parents pass away. So yes, as they say: "Life happens."
  2. Right, hence plot over character and of course how many times does Oliver have to do something "stupid" just like Taylor. I get they are still teens in high school. However, Oliver still acts like his family is the worst thing in the world, yet they get his back and his best friend is so privilege he doesn't even know how the basic functions of a car work. Also, Cooper not having Uber, seriously? That you can't hand wave. The Otto's finances like many sitcoms or dramas are just a joke from one episode to another. Most of season 1, they were acting like they were one moment away from being evicted from the house since it was owned by a woman who's son was a complete moron (I don't miss that character). Then in season 2, Greg is so focused on getting his book published so he can tenure because it meant "stable income". Yet goes and buys a flipping $800 smoker, Katie is eating out all the time and the kids are constantly saying their parents don't have any money to give them. Plus, add in the fact that all that time spent on Spencer and he doesn't leave ONE DAMN THING to anyone. Then when Greg does get tenure they stick him in a broom closet that he HAS to make his new office. Umm... he would still have an office if he wasn't tenure, he is in a damn university and yes, TV show, many professors do work in a cubical even if they are making just around $60K a year with no tenure. Then Katie goes and spends money on regular stuff, they aren't the Conners and most people who get a bonus to pay off one MAJOR bill or maybe just two little bills. Saving an extra $100 the next month can go a long way in a family of 3. Yet, oh no Katie is: "Time for shopping!"
  3. That's what really just made no sense. why weren't they at the Dunphey House? This was a planned out shower for apparently weeks. Yes, I get that Alex could care less about sports just like Gloria or even Claire. But Come on! They act like they don't know Jay or Cam at this point in their lives. As for Manny, dear God! That was just the worst acting Rico has ever done and Phil apparently was hit in the head with the door because he was acting extremely stupid. In fact, it looked like that Manny was going to finally get a clue that outside of Phil, no one cares about his crap and even Phil it has waned on. But oh no, Phil immediately enables Manny's crap. I'm sorry, no matter what, the writers just retreading the same thing over and over and over and over again with Haley and Dylan. Haley is a hormonal mess and complaining about how being pregnant has ruined her looks, emotions, ect. Dylan keeps constantly doing something so dumb or reacting to things in such a stupid way. You CAN'T convince me he made it into let alone THROUGH nursing school. Even when Claire brought up his problems since day 1. It just screams how much Claire and Phil should have been: "Haley, seriously, he is a dumb ass, stop it. You are not going to like the way your life is going to turn out." Especially after he returned from his divorce, and learning that while his family kicked him out of the house, they made him the way he was because Dylan tried to be like them. Talk about just a pot of stupid ready for a Dylan to see a button that says:"Don't push and you will die." and then pushes it thinking it's a joke. Lily, Gloria? Seriously texting that stuff on a phone that is not yours. Also, what happened with Mitch and Cam saying they NEEDED to get Lilly her own phone? You just proved why she also needs it.
  4. Same with Mark, yes, her sudden change to Goth and Ronny. If Jill was that worried about him, she be calling the school or vice versa when you have that big of a change over the summer. First Jill just thinks that Mark is just confused, but then goes into full thinking that Mark wants to kill her and Tim. The horror movie bothers me because for a number of reasons. First of all, Wilson and Al being super wise would have been: "Mark are you sure you want to depict your parents like this? You sound like you HATE them." Oh no, they just roll with it. Then add in when they see that Mark is using a real blade, I be more of: "Mark, I know it looks great, but sorry if you or Ronny slip or I move wrong, someone is going to get hurt." Oh no, just go into panic mode or Mark's: "It looks better" excuse. For a kid that seem to find his passion for filming, you had to hit Mark up with a lot of reality at times. Especially in the final season when people were getting pissed at his films. Of course, when you look at it, Mark couldn't buy a clue. Then he was: "Oh, I guess I did go to far." Yeah, Mark there is being passionate and then there is being more oblivious than your father at times.
  5. That's very true. Something too by the end of the series, Jill has NO FRIENDS at all. Her classmate is gone, after they spent all of season 6-7 building her up. She is just gone. Everyone else has moved away. The issues that Jill SHOULD be dealing with, she doesn't. She instead tries to see things that aren't there or panics over the smallest things. Yet, yells at Tim or the boys when they get upset over things that ARE a big deal. Yet, to Jill it all pales in compare with her life and how she grew up.
  6. Yes and then Mike brought up the old plans for a restaurant and Kristin was all: "Hey, I could do that." Ed hated it because he didn't want "fat people" coming into the store. I do agree, it's not how you "get the job" it's how you handle it. However, yes, Kristin has a very: "I know everything and I'm the best" attitude. Just like Ryan is all: "Money bad, religion is bad, politics bad. Yet, my reason for it all is because my dad was an asshole and I got my girlfriend pregnant in high school."
  7. Right, and it's also showing why everyone hated the story and was created just to keep Lena and Martin apart. It's happening again. Especially, when she hasn't been heard of the rest of the season. However, it coming back is very unlikely the ratings are worst than they were last season.
  8. Yeah, you really can't do that. Neutral only works if you have the key in the ignition, it's been that way since the 70s. I do laugh at times with Cooper, but other times. He like many of the "privileged rich" of town are so clueless about things. I'm shock they can flush the toilet.
  9. Right on both things, I mean people who don't get why some people "like that stuff" it's just looking at how you like something others don't. I get so sick of that bias on both TV and real life. However, they have shouted from the hill tops of Junior panicking over really nothing and this bullshit "gap year" the writers want to use. They think bringing in a Cousin Oliver just like adding another kid to the series is going to fill in the gaps left from Zoey. No, it shows the writers are not as smart as they think they are.
  10. Really, really you are throwing a Baby Shower on Super Bowl Sunday when you know both your grandfather and uncle are HUGE football fans? Really Alex? As for Claire, I wanted her to tell Dylan in the van: "Well, and you couldn't acting like you barely knew how to tie your shoe. So of course, I think you are an idiot." As for Haley, get over it girl and go buy maternity clothes.
  11. It felt like they wanted Deb to have a life outside the house and in the last couple of seasons, especially when the kids were older. I was hoping that Debra would have gone back to work or done more. I do remember when she went after Ray that he and his coworkers "goof off" at work and lead to him creating his home office. Which, is much more constant now than in the late 90s. However, in a way, I think Debra was just tired of being at home dealing with the kids most of the time. By the time we got to season 4, the twins were in school and Ally was starting to get independent. I do agree the transition to Ray's family was what kept most of the issues going along with Marie being a "smother" and never being wrong. However, by the end of the series, you wonder why Ray and Debra didn't divorce because they were fight in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE!
  12. That drives me insane! On The Middle they did that for years. Yes, they would say: "Oh, it's like 20 degrees outside" yet they show no snow, and their grass as green as July. I remember years ago, they showed Boy Meets World and everyone was bundled up since the show was suppose to be in CT and yet, the way they were walking around, you would swear it was the middle of May. I get it's expensive, but at least TRY to look like it's that time of year. Not all of us can live in California where there are palm trees everywhere.
  13. That what was so inconstant with Jill. She wanted Tim to listen to her problems and read her mind on what she was feeling. However, when Tim needed Jill to listen or understand he was having problems. It was: "Oh, whatever, I don't care, that's your problems, Tim. I'M MORE IMPORTANT. Haven't you been listening to how I moved 8 times growing up the past 20 years?" The time Jill did listen is when Tim kept jumping to Bud's orders, which, yes, Jill was very in the right. However, the times when Tim was going through his "mid life" crisis or his work starting to degrade it was: "Oh well, get over it, hey! I need to go get a piano I can't play, but it has memories to it. I'm off to talk to my cousin everyone else in the family avoids."
  14. I found it also interesting with all the talk of: "She just want's my daughter anymore." I wanted Amelia go: "So, did you look into rehab? Doing an injection with other family members, ect?" Oh no, Amelia immediately goes; "Well, I'm an addict too, blah blah blah." Then as soon as NotBetty's dad is in he's: "We are taking Leo and that's that." Up until less than an hour ago, you never knew he existed. Plus, it also means that NotBetty has been lying to everyone since day 1 or the fact they should have brought in the social worker where she could have been: "You exisit?" Or: "No, according to our records, you are dead." It's a cluster mess.
  15. Right and I'm wondering if they want to try and "renew" the Vanessa/Carol friendship with less Vanessa trying to sound "politically correct". Because since the show has been back you either have Vanessa yelling at someone or just there. More focus has been trying to make "new Mandy" work or bring in the new cousin Oliver for Vanessa.
  16. Sadly, Carol hasn't been in the picture for almost 2 years. Even Chuck saying how she moved out of state for a while. While the show wanted to basically try to have it's cake and eat it too. I think they wanted Chuck married again and do more than just insult Mike. Because you know, Joe insulting Chuck and vice versa was not enough.
  17. That the show is pertaining that she had this "crappy" life and the reason she didn't want to have children.
  18. Yeah, the more and more it goes, it seems everyone wants to drop everything for Delilah, but as soon as they don't, she gets all pissy. She is very self centered and while she may take her 12 year old son fine as being gay, what about his crush's parents? Do they even know their own kid is gay too? I at least get what everyone was saying about being 100% financial responsible for a kid instead of just making sure they are the "fun relative". However, the more I look at Rome and Regina, I think they have way, way too much bagage to be anyone's guardians either. Even if Regina is starting to admit, she didn't want kids because of her uncle molesting and her own mother's problems she still doesn't want to face or her dad just giving up and walking.
  19. Junior this entire season has been a mess. One BIG mess, they did not think out the "gap year". They keep showing him making one mistake after another in very DUMBer then usual even for him. Everything that involves Junior just shows that no one in his family likes him. Why is he even listening to Dre and Pops way, way, way outdated dating styles. For that matter, where does Dre even think that way? Also, only cash? Umm... unless this is one of those mini style places that has been around for decades at as mall location (though most places take debit/credit now). Why would Junior even go there when he didn't have any cash on him and didn't think he would need it. This is Black-ish's problems, it keeps trying to act like some of cast are stuck in the 60s-80s style of thinking. Or how they got out of "the hood" and now feel privilege. Yet, apparently none of them understand the basics of today. All the writers keep coming off like they never go out at all either and then pretend they know what they are writing going: "Can't you see our genius and funny writing?" No, no we can't.
  20. Which really should add a different wrinkle into things if Regina DOES have a relationship with her father in some way instead of: "I'm Regina, I was molested, my mother didn't help and my father left, NO KIDS for me!"
  21. How true and then add into his sex talk addict Italian speaking sister and that is a family I stay far away from any type of relationship. At least Linc is aware and understands Meredeith, they just having Deluca come across as: "hey, I have a MILF."
  22. I also wonder if it's a new tread with a lot of Netflix shows. Many are ending this year such as Orange is the New Black and Grace and Eve. Shows that are in their 8th seasons and many have said they started losing it about 3 years ago and dragging things out. Streaming services like Netflix, Hulu or Freeform do see when a show is getting both expensive and losing interest unlike many networks that say: "Well if it's pulling in ratings, keep it going."
  23. Very true, just like someone who has an addiction and denying or trying to just pass it off as: "well, their lives are tough" just leads to a endless cycle. Seeing all this now gives a much better picture of why Regina hated her mother and even more how she still uses the: "kids don't come with instruction manuals" excuse. When really the denial and continue to allow that main part to be part of their lives lead to all the crap they are going through now. I do wish we knew more abut Regina's father and if he knew all this or did and also chose to deny it too.
  24. That's exactly it. It felt rushed and yes they could have tried to be that: "Regina never felt that need in her life." Yet, as soon as they brought in her mother, and her resentment. There was something stemming from there. Now, getting all of this is just feels rushed. It could have been done with more care and the actors are up to the task. However, when it was all said it was: "I had a crappy experience growing up and No kids for me and don't even bring it up!" It came off as too cliche instead of a rational decision and playing into: "people who don't want kids are screwed up." While sadly it does take that form in real life, but at the same time with people. If you want kids and the other doesn't, guess what. You aren't on the same page and neither is going to change that mind. So, hence force: "DON'T GET MARRIED!"
  25. I agree, the only reason Scandal ended was because everyone was ready for the show to be over including Shonda and the ratings had dropped a bit. Other wise they would have tried to keep that show going. I don't see Station 19 being over any time soon even if they try to carry Miranda and Ben's plots between the two and the show doesn't return for another month. Then again, ABC is renewing shows that just HORRIBLE or they are running out of ideas in their first seasons like: A Million Little Things, Fresh off the Boat or Single Parents.
