  1. I'd forgotten that he was so much younger than Liz. Sorry to hear this.
  2. Drivers of electric cars need to be mindful that they are nearly silent. (And creepy.)
  3. Was he carrying a cell phone and texting? Suicide by car? Did you honk at him? Be like the woman in the commercial, "The doctor said it's not contagious."
  4. Fear sells. If the Sunsetter folks could find the "fear" angle, they'd sell more retractable awnings. Forget using your back yard more often, buy an awning or you'll die.
  5. Pssst ... I think it's Louis, not Louise. ;) Disney has filed a patent on humanoid robots. Coming soon to a theme park near you. I'm guessing they haven't watched the original film or HBO series?
  6. Article in our newspaper recently that libraries are no longer quiet because they offer so many services that do not include reading books. Or research. They are now social places. Sorry.
  7. I haven't seen much on Fatty Arbuckle; he was acquitted but his career destroyed. George Reeves's death was whitewashed. However, if it has to be a feud, I got nothing.
  8. I caught the last 20 minutes or so of this on TCM last night. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but I 'm not certain comedy is Bette's forte. I'd like to see it from the beginning, so I'll try to catch it again. I suspect the title is misleading, because Bette portrayed a wealthy, spoiled young woman.
  9. For years, Charles was The Most Eligible Bachelor in the World. There were all sorts of young women dreaming of Prince Charming. When he finally chose someone, she must have been Very Special. So, of course it was a fairy tale. It could be nothing less.
  10. The man who wrote Cat From Hell? *shudder*
  11. Lots of celebrities aren't recognized. Hence the infamous "Don't you know who I am?" that crops up all the time.
  12. I found it, Inside Edition: http://www.insideedition.com/investigative/21784-how-reliable-are-home-dna-ancestry-tests-investigation-uses-triplets-to-find-out "I think the answer here is that we've come so far in terms of genetic testing, but you can't just spit in a cup and have every single answer that you are looking for," Dr. Stork said following the test results.
  13. Did you shake your cane and yell "Get off my lawn!"?
  14. Age is not to blame. Victoria was 18 and inexperienced when she became Queen, and she handled it. Charles was under a lot of pressure to get married and produce an heir, and Diana was suitable.
  15. Apparently I have a thing for guys in baseball caps, because in the other commercials I just see 'generic handsome guy.' It's the Terminix ad that zinged me.
  16. I would. I like Round Table. I want one, right now. I guess it's bug season, because I'm getting a lot of ads for Terminix and Orkin. The ad for Orkin is annoying, the woman dressed in white, in the sterile white house, with everything in plastic containers and spray cleaner in hand. It's new and I can't find it, but you'll remember it. It may even be the same ad, but the kids are log rolling in the swimming pool because they saw a bug.
  17. Enough to bring back Flo? I wonder how many themes Progressive is running these days. It seems like Geico has a few, also.
  18. Dear John, I have been unable to sleep since I broke off our engagement. Won't you forgive and forget? Your absence is breaking my heart. I was a fool, nobody can take your place. All my love, Belinda. xxxxoooxxxx P.S. Congratulations on winning last week's Powerball lottery.
  19. I have a crush on the Terminix man. His name is Tom Parker, and he was in one of the "settlers" ads for (whatever it was). I think I'd sign a Terminix contract if he came out to my house. He reminds me of Kent McCord (Adam-12). https://www.ispot.tv/ad/A9gK/terminix-cockroach
  20. The only two things I've heard about Bette was that she used Vaseline as shadow primer to make her eyelids shiny, and that she didn't like to wear a bra, which gave costume designers a real challenge. I was looking for a photo of the shiny eyelids, but I think it's mostly visible in the films and not stills. ran across this though:
  21. It was from an interview in People magazine. http://people.com/archive/mario-lopez-bares-all-vol-69-no-25/ It's kind of long, and that quote is at the end:
  22. Maybe she didn't need to work, but wanted to work? The tv series implies that Joan was strapped for cash (doing her own yardwork, getting fans to work around the house), as was Bette. They both had children and houses to support.
  23. Nancy Reagan? (I jest.)
