  1. When I was kid, I took an honest-to-goodness in-store Pepsi Challenge and picked Coke. The lady running the booth seemed so irritated I ran off because I thought I was about to get scolded. Of course, now I know I was just an irritating kid and it wasn't about my answer, but obviously I still carry scars. :)
  2. Need Alexis this week at City, but if he plays against Brighton in the FA Cup we riot.
  3. Sczc was absolutely awful. That should have been a nil-nil tie.
  4. Christmas miracle - Arsenal comes up with a big win on the road at West Ham! With Ozil and Ramsey due back in january, dare we yet again ask if this team is turning the corner?
  5. I liked that but I immediately wished they'd had the family shout "Happy Nineteen Eighty Something!" :)
  6. In the grand scheme, Arsenal's loss at Stoke really wasn't cataclysmic. It's just the nature of how it happened that is so painful.
  7. I always thought he was a massive improvement over Kelly Choi. And I'm even straight!
  8. As far as I can tell, the final battle of the Knockout was none of our business.
  9. So i don't know for sure, but the fact that Curtis is hosting "Kitchen Inferno" for Food Network next month - which is going head-to-head with the Top Chef mothership in its timeslot - makes it look like he's done with Bravo.
  10. Listening to the Classic AT40 channel on iHeart has me thisclose to downloading Leif Garrett's "I Was Made For Dancin'". I've never been shy about my love of disco, but this one seems one step beyond for some reason. :)
  11. I'm not taking the Arsenal loss nearly as badly as perhaps I should be. Stinks being the only EPL side to lose to the MLS, but I have to remember a lot of guys didn't make the trip over. (Then again, the guys who did should've played a lot better.) I'm sure I'd be taking a lot of gruff from Spurs fans if I associated with any :)
  12. mertensia, you're right. One person plays all five rounds every week. I thoguht this was pretty bad...and I watch "Guy's Grocery Games". It's just like every other game show NBC has done this century (except perhaps 1 vs. 100)... lots of flash and almost zero substance. We didn't see much cooking, we didn't get the thought process of the judges. (Or any qualifications as to the quality of their palates - burned salmon wins?! - or, really, any qualifications of the guest chefs beyond those who live on TV.) The show was overly fond of its own mechanics. I like Adam Richman, but he's not gonna be able to make the show good.
  13. Gillian, Set the DVR: that one's going to be on Fox.
  14. With Suarez out of the league, I don't think I'll hate Liverpool as much as last year. It'll be good to focus my enmity completely onto Chelsea and Tottenham :)
  15. Both are readily available here in specialty shops. I have a small jar of vegemite that I've been working on for about a decade :)
  16. QPR vs. Derby this Saturday to fill the last PL spot for next season (10 Am Eastern on BeIn Sports here in the States). I like seeing the London teams do well - Blues and Spurs excluded. - but can't root against Derby, either.
  17. How about these late season bursts of quality from Sunderland and Crystal Palace? They might have something going next year. Sunderland is especially impressive given they sacked their coach earlier this seaon.
  18. Well, for me personally, it's been a nailbiter of a season. The two teams I can't stand, Chelsea and Liverpool, are fighting for the title (although Man City still has a chance to sneak up there), while the two teams I like most, Arsenal and Everton, are fighting for one Champions League qualification spot. It looks like Arsenal has the upper hand, as long as they continue the return to form we saw against West Ham. Everton's got a much tougher stretch of matches ahead of them. Despite my sour taste for Liverpool, I was still greatly moved by the ceremony for the victims of Hillsborough. I still don't know if I'm ready to watch the ESPN documentary.
  19. I enjoy it more when I dislike all four contestants. Usually, when I like one, they get ganged up on and I feel sad. When I hate 'em all, I can just enjoy the carnage. Plus, I can tell Alton's having a ball with the show.
  20. I haven't been terribly impressed with this season at all, but I really enjoyed this one. Alison, in particular, was fantastic. (He says, being male.)
  21. A good break-in point is Spearhead From Space - new doctor (Three), the show converts to color, and there aren't any carryover companions. The things you don't know at this point aren't a huge barrier. I started there, then backed up to The Invasion, then backed up again to the beginning (all the while, skipping ahead every now and then). I'm just about to finish up with Five. I also skipped the audio-only missing stories, so I'm pumped about backing up again soon to Web of Fear and Enemy of the World.
