  1. I get the impression she's blaming her lack of baking skills on having had a family at such a young age and therefore being unable to go to school for it, but it takes hardly any time, and no money, to find some recipes much better than any box cake mix as well as decorating tips online, doesn't require enrolling in any school to learn A LOT more about it than Pumpkin does. Plenty of parents manage to further their formal education while simultaneously raising children, and many of them also even have actual jobs. I do actually like Pumpkin based on what I know of her from the show, has a nice, fun personality and seems more intelligent than most other members of the family and their associates, but I'm just not buying the "poor me, I can't follow my dreams because kids." I hope she realizes that she still can and does so if that's what she really wants. My favorite cake recipe that almost anyone can make (I use my own chocolate walnut brownie recipe not a box mix, and homemade whipped cream (with nitrous oxide chargers and a whipped cream dispenser, not actual whipping it up by hand, though)): https://www.lifeloveandsugar.com/snickers-peanut-butter-brownie-ice-cream-cake/
  2. Oh definitely. I have a cake decorating kit with the bag to put frosting in and various tips to make it squirt out in different ways, but am nowhere near as good with it as a professional, could never make anything worth selling, just stuff that looks decent and tastes good. Pumpkin claims it's her dream to open a bakery but she hasn't even bothered to learn how to make a basic cake let alone decorate it.
  3. FTFY Without having any actual evidence to back it up, I just think it's highly unlikely that Sugar Bear has any money, especially not enough to significantly help with Alana's tuition. Even if she won a lawsuit against him, if he has no assets she wouldn't be able to collect it. Didn't Draylin mention some kind of job he was going to do in Colorado, maybe as a mechanic or something to do with vehicles? Maybe I hallucinated this or maybe it was just talk about a job he hoped to get but doesn't actually have. I also doubt Alana will finish college, or if she does it will only be after changing majors to something easier, can't really imagine her as successful neonatal nurse considering all the advanced science courses that requires. I have a B.S. in Zoology and just can't picture her even being able to comprehend things like college level calculus, advanced chemistry or physics courses. I mean she doesn't even understand basic terms like eviction or credit score and it seems like her automatic reaction to anything and everything she doesn't understand is to look confused and ask Pumpkin or whoever else is nearby for the answer/explanation which won't work in college. I really don't understand how she even graduated from high school but then again I've known multiple people who were completely illiterate who did, no idea how, could not have happened in the schools I attended. Is that tacky jewelry Justin wears even worth maybe $10? Was anyone else shocked that Pumpkin's supposed dream is to have her own bakery, but then she goes to make a simple cake, uses a box mix and admits she has never made one from scratch (and the box mix turned out looking like a disaster)? I have zero interest in baking especially not as a way of making money, might make one or two cakes or brownies or something similar per year for a special occasion but always do it from scratch, instructions and recipes are easy to find online and Pumpkin obviously has the internet, doesn't need to go to any school to learn plenty more about baking than she currently knows. Same with Alana talking about she doesn't know how to cook because her mother is blind. My mother taught me next to nothing about cooking but I can make all kinds of stuff and anything I don't currently know I just look up online, thought everyone did this now.
  4. I can't stand Sarper but do agree with him about Tyray's constant giggling being a huge turn off to probably almost all women, and also that he should consider paying for sex to get some experience and idea what it's all about before trying with a real potential relationship partner because even if he managed to stop the giggling and get a date to agree to sex with him, his level of inexperience and cluelessness at his age would likely be the last straw for any poor woman who initially agreed to it. His obesity is obviously another issue and drawback but not as much so as the giggling and early teen mindset about sex combined with the weird ideas he's gotten from porn, Carmella, etc.
  5. This guy is a lost cause. He's this age now and so hopelessly inexperienced and ignorant with crazy ideas about what most sex and even dating is like, it would take forever for even the nicest, most patient woman to explain and correct so much while having to put up with always having to hear/find out about new, weird stuff he thinks and wants that I can't imagine him still being attractive to her at all by the time he finally has a clue and starts to maybe act normal around women. I think he has good intentions but a lot of misconceptions that will offend and drive away any potential partner until he learns a lot more somehow; maybe some kind of counseling would help this guy. I don't intend this in any kind of mean or rude way, genuinely want the best for him and hope he eventually has a good relationship, seems a lot to work on though.
  6. Jim Tom is gone, died from kidney cancer September 6, 2023. Article about it with pic of him in hospice care: https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/how-did-jim-tom-hendricks-die-moonshiners-og-cast-member-82-put-nc-on-the-map-with-his-unique-stint/ar-AA1mnuDm Obituary: https://www.legacy.com/news/celebrity-deaths/jim-tom-hedrick-1940-2023-star-of-moonshiners/ I'll miss him, show isn't the same without him. ☹️
  7. How is this episode currently already downloaded to my computer if it hasn't even aired on TV yet? I haven't had TV service in decades, view everything for free online, just wondering how this works.
  8. I've seen this done on "Trailer Park Boys" with vodka so I know it works.
  9. I find this story about Babs believable. She seems like the type to me to be jealous, insecure and controlling enough to manipulate Glenn and the rest of the family this way, to want him to abandon his previous girlfriend and their child, and to not want any part of his illegitimate child, previous relationship, etc. to be mentioned in her presence let alone put on TV. Now when Glenn talks about how "this is what Babs would have wanted," how she would have loved to visit the grandkids, great grandkids, etc., I don't believe him at all. He looks uncomfortable saying it and I think he knows if Babs were still alive they would not be reuniting with this branch of his family.
  10. My theory is that he was going to meet Whitney, possibly mostly/entirely for the TV exposure, and that's why he was friendly at first, called her "sexy" and all that, but then after looking up and reviewing previous episodes of this show realized how much of a complete wacko Whitney is and decided he wanted no part of it, for TV, any amount of money or anything else. Not worth it to have to deal with Whitney at all.
  11. Also after only considering Brandon and Mary's situation for a few hours since watching the last episode, I can already think of a way both of them could vastly improve their lives as much of a mess as they are. I know of a U.S. company that runs a call center, only employs people to work entirely from home, pays $10 U.S. per hour, 1099 contractor positions so no withholdings, and they will hire absolutely anyone living anywhere as long as they can speak reasonably fluent English and have basic computer skills, already have a mostly Filipino workforce since few U.S. citizens will work for that amount. They don't care about or check references, would hire both Brandon and Mary, they could start work almost immediately and have paychecks within a couple of weeks. Brandon could even continue sleeping all day since their shifts are all daytime and evenings in the U.S. which is middle of the night Philippines time. But will either of them seek out this or any other reasonable opportunity? Of course not, they'll just keep messing around with their (maybe) $18/month profit from a stupid little guaranteed to fail store and trying to make a living from being idiots on TV. Mind-blowing. Some people are just destined to fail in life I guess.
  12. None of these couples are any good or has any hope of working out but the Brandon/Mary situation is particularly stunning and baffling to me and it just keeps getting worse. I can't understand why either one keeps furthering this disaster of a relationship and now there are kids being brought into this huge mess! No planning, Brandon moving to a country where there is virtually no way for citizens to make enough money to have a reasonable life yet he moves there practically penniless and he can't even legally get any type of job whatsoever (and acts like this is some kind of surprise to him)! And doing this all for a psycho, controlling, extremely immature bitch who will only ever make his life worse and more miserable. He didn't have it together enough to even be any kind of success in the U.S. where it should have been easy even for a lazy idiot like him, yet he ended up homeless living in his car here, what a moronic loser. Now he wants to sleep all day and play video games and act like this no-hope situation is some kind of surprise and in any way not completely their own fault. I'm having trouble believing this storyline can actually be true but am afraid it is. How can anyone not put any planning into their lives and just keep wandering further into its complete destruction beyond any hope of repair?!? WTF????
  13. OK thanks but just so I can be clear on this, is it a wig or hair extensions on Danielle? Or maybe some kind of animal or trash that she found washed up on the beach while foraging for mangoes?
  14. Watching episode now. Can someone who knows about hair extensions, wigs and such please tell me whether Danielle's hair has been "enhanced" in some artificial way or if it's natural? If natural how is it possible for someone especially at her age to grow that much thick, full hair in such a short period of time? I want to know this secret. It's the only interesting thing to me about this couple. Thanks. :)
  15. Yes, the alternatives are mostly chemical fertilizers. I live on a farm with cattle and poultry and their manure is the main source of nutrients for our food gardens, flavor of organically grown stuff is far superior than what chemical fertilizers can produce. We also use manure from the cows to spread in hay fields to fertilize the grass they eat in winter, is a great environmentally friendly system. Looking forward to seeing this mess of a show as soon as I can download it!
  16. She probably does by now after spending some time with Chris. Hopefully she realized they aren't right for each other, for many reasons, and has moved on.
  17. Astrology is irrelevant to me, can't relate to it so I probably tuned Cleo's conversation about it out, don't remember it and since I don't, don't know what that situation was like as far as how many people, how much noise, etc. If astrology is an important topic to Cleo I can see how she might want to discuss it in some situations. Maybe the producers prodded around until they found a subject she wanted to discuss to get into that. I'll open up to people much more than I usually would if the subject is very interesting to me and I want to learn more about it from them, and/or give them information from my side. I also have no idea why Cleo would want to be on this or any other TV show. I sure wouldn't, like to keep my private life private, but all autistic people are different. IMO Chris just seems clueless about autism. He doesn't understand Cleo so doesn't understand why she doesn't like some of the situations he enjoys like crowded noisy bars. Lots of times people have been convinced I would enjoy something I know I absolutely wouldn't no matter how much I tried to explain that it's just not for me. Also he mentioned more than once that he wanted Cleo to get drunk with him so she'd loosen up or something. Maybe he was convinced that if he just got her buzzed enough she would then enjoy being in a crowded bar, the way it might someone who wasn't autistic but just shy/introverted or something. And if Cleo were drunk he'd feel less self-conscious about his own alcoholism and figure she wouldn't mind him getting wasted like most sober people would. He seemed pretty focused on getting his own buzz on, was going to do that regardless of what Cleo wanted. Lots of drunks enjoy "bar hopping." Probably lessens the chances of them being cut off by servers when it's not known how many drinks they already had.
  18. I seem to be in the minority on this but as an autistic person I completely understand Cleo's reaction to being pretty much forced into that horribly uncomfortable situation for her. Just watching that scene in the crowded bar, surrounded by people and noise, and thinking about if I were stuck there how terrified I'd be, might have an anxiety attack and be left with no choice but to bolt out of there and would probably just leave regardless after more than one quick drink, and without Christian talking to people at another table. No, no, no way would I willingly move closer to that table with strangers and join in their conversation, would be upset at even that suggestion. I couldn't even see, maybe due to camera angles though, an easy and quick way to even leave either. I'd feel trapped and quickly start to hate whoever was making me be there, no matter how much else we had in common and those two seem to have almost nothing, completely different lifestyles, absolutely no hope of working out, Christian being a drunk and not seeming to be into Cleo's cats which are obviously a huge part of her life, aside. I'm so glad I have a partner who is OK with me not wanting to do "social stuff" and when/before dating previous men one of the first things I'd make sure was discussed was how often he had people over to his house, went to bars/parties/concerts or anything like that and made sure he knew I'd never be into it, he'd have to do them alone, that it causes me tremendous anxiety and is in no way whatsoever fun for me, nor will I ever "get used to it." I hate Christian and this "relationship" is completely absurd.
  19. Hey they've already done lesbian and drug addict/psycho, guess it's the new trend for this show.
  20. I wish I had no idea about this situation existing, or most of the other graphic sexual details revealed by at least a few couples on these shows lately, don't remember it happening more than a couple seasons or so ago and would like for it to stop. Thank you.
  21. I don't either. I don't have kids, just dogs, but teach them all lots of hand signals along with verbal words. It's nice in general to have an additional way to communicate with them and I've had a couple lose their hearing in later years so then it was great to still be able to practice obedience and play games and stuff using hand signals, helped keep their minds sharp, and tell them with hand signals that they were good dogs and things like that. Even with a child away at a school for the deaf where they can learn much more effectively than with parents or in public schools, surely they spend some time at home, seems like the parents would want to be able to interact with them more, as much as they could. I'd definitely learn ASL if I had a deaf child.
  22. I haven't watched this episode yet, but wow, Chance has seemed so open and honest in all previous episodes so I'm just shocked at this revelation! 😆
  23. I don't have TV service but am easily able to keep up with everything online. There is a website "premierdate.news" where you can set up a free account, select the shows you want to track and they will email you in advance the dates of new seasons starting, and also when additional seasons have been approved by a network. Also you can do a search for the name of any show followed by "next episode" and usually the first result will be from "next-episode.net" which will tell you when the last episode was, what season and episode of that show it was, and same for the next episode. This is especially useful when shows skip weeks between episodes, to find out when it will resume. I agree! I'm a homesteader, partner and I raise and hunt almost all of our own meat and lots of our own produce, working towards 100% food independence, but are not and do not want to be off-grid, have a nice, comfortable house he built himself before I met him with electricity, central heat and air, modern kitchen appliances, etc., though it is a fairly simple and basic design, big enough for two people but no more, at least not without adding a second bathroom and third bedroom in the unfinished basement or something but we have no plans for that, or any more people moving in. In case of power outage we do have a couple wood stoves and plenty of natural wood on the property to be heat-independent as well if necessary, could also cook with fire if necessary and we often do this anyway because we enjoy it. We do plan to get an outdoor furnace and heat with wood before too long to make heat independence easier, and to save money on heating expenses. He lived here without internet for decades and still rarely uses it but I didn't move in until after having Starlink set up, so glad that is an option now. :) True, but I did learn most of what I know about homesteading from YouTube and there is tons of valuable information there, have been putting a lot of it to good use. Also some of the people with homesteading channels on YT have also written books with great info including building plans for livestock shelters and fencing systems, greenhouses, other gardening info and such. One of them I know of also has his own website, charging a small membership fee which allows subscribers to ask questions about the lifestyle and have it answered by him and other subscribers, who are all dedicated to this lifestyle and full of knowledge and helpful tips. This show is definitely over-dramatic with the "these trees are going to kill you!", "forest fire/flood/rocks/wildlife is going to destroy this place any minute!", "your whole homestead could fall into this sinkhole!" type statements, and I don't believe the timelines, that they supposedly get all of what is shown done in a week or whatever. At least they admit now that crews help them but I still think timelines are fudged. Also think/know a lot of it is acting, not reality. Still interesting, though. :)
  24. I know cigarettes were a major form of currency among inmates, based on books, TV shows and movies, but for some reason thought this had long ago stopped being allowed, similar to how when I was in high school we were allowed to smoke in the "smoke hall" area but have been told this stopped long ago in public schools, and now the legal tobacco buying age is 21 up from 18 I think, but obviously I'm pretty out of touch on all of this. I can understand why prisons might want to allow tobacco both to keep inmates less bothered, and so they can get more money from them via commissary.
