  1. A lot of people assume you want one of each.
  2. I watched several seasons of One Tree Hill, but I have no memory of this actress/character. Who was she? (in relation to the actual main characters)
  3. Depends on the denomination. Some priests/ministers are only allowed to perform weddings in a church. My uncle is a Catholic priest and the only way he was allowed to perform the ceremony was if it was in a church. It was a beautiful log cabin-y church in the mountains, but still a church.
  4. Do we know that for certain? Couldn't she just be keeping higher privacy settings than her siblings?
  5. There is. Male pattern baldness is carried on the X chromosome, and males get X from mum and Y from dad. (Though mum could have gotten the gene from her mum or dad; doesn't have to be her dad.)
  6. Thanks for the suggestion, but his fear of heights would kick in if I tried to make him stand on a toilet seat.
  7. They have a room like that at the mall. I love it. It's the only place my toilet training son will actually pee in a toilet outside of our house or his daycare. Everywhere else, I get stuck going through the "I have to pee" routine that either ends with us in a public restroom, him playing with the doors then looking at the toilet and deciding he doesn't have to pee after all or with me sounding like "mean mommy" and saying "no" because I can't deal with that routine *again*. I wish more places had mini toilets in the family bathroom. (Our toilets at home have an insert you can flip down that makes the seat smaller for him.)
  8. My kids are only two years apart. I'm old and wanted to get the child bearing done before getting even older. :-)
  9. Can you put some lowlights into the coppery section to make it blend more, but keep most of the coppery colour? That's kind of the reverse of what I've done on occasion: put blondish highlights in dark brown hair so that the grey growing in blends better.
  10. I think the names follow the likes. Which is why I'm a big meanie about not liking those "give so-and-so 1,000,000 likes" posts.
  11. Yes. That's why you'll see piles of posts for "like this page to show you hate hunger" or "love puppies" or whatever. The person farms for likes for a page then sells it to some company wanting a pre-liked page (so that it'll show up more readily on people's feeds).
  12. How is Izzy still in #4s? My eight month old is already in #5s overnight (and is transitioning to them during the day too).
  13. I do! Big chunks of roasted onions are delicious! I toss together onions, zucchini and peppers with olive oil, salt, pepper and herbs and roast or BBQ for major yumminess. That recipe, not so much. And the video is just bad except for the Spurge bits. *He* is adorable.
  14. Kid dancers isn't the focus of Dance Moms. Obnoxious women is the focus of Dance Moms. :-)
  15. What kills me is that the pedestals aren't universal. Every brand has slightly different specs - and they even change them every few years to try and force you to buy new pedestals if you have to buy a new washer/dryer. (I know this because the previous owners of our house didn't look after their appliances and we just had to replace a washer/dryer that were no more than 7 years old. We'd previously replaced similarly aged stove and dishwasher. Fortunately, the damage on the fridge is just cosmetic.)
  16. I quite like Masters of Flip. I appreciate that they don't just do the exact same reno every episode and I like that they often use colour (rather than having everything always white/grey/beige). As for the heels, I'm betting that's producer-driven since all the women on reno shows wear them. Unrelated: I just saw an add for a female Property Brothers (right down to them being twins) called Listed Sisters. It looks awful.
  17. Shalyah is probably being set up as a steal-back for Christina.
  18. I think so. Kortney is equally pretty, and they seem to be happy and well-adjusted.
  19. Does anyone watch Masters of Flip? I couldn't find a forum for it, so maybe it's only on in Canada? But it's set in Tennessee, so I wouldn't have thought so. Anyway, it's a similar concept to Flip or Flop but they admit to much higher reno budgets (often six figures) and Kortney is much more open to using colour and keeping character than Christina while Dave seems much more knowledgeable about construction than Tarek.
  20. When I was in grad school, there were plenty who drank and partied on Friday/Saturday nights. And that included grad students in their late twenties/early thirties.
  21. They always sing in coach order, left to right. So, Blake's contestants sing before Pharrell's who sing before Gwen's who sing before Adam's. So, the only decisions come when there's more than one person from the same team.
  22. $300,000 is ten times $30,000 (not a hundred times) but, yes, it's still a lot more than normal people earn.
  23. I think they're going for the big dramatic "married couple are bottom two" moment next week - and that's why they both scored oddly low (compared to the rest of the competition who were mostly overscored). I just hope it's Carlos who gets cut instead of Alexa. Alexa, I like. Carlos, not so much. Edited to note that I must have misremembered Carlos' score being lower than it actually was. Boo! That means it's Alexa they want rid of - but I bet they're still planning that "married couple in danger" moment.
  24. Our favourite brussels sprouts recipe is from Ina Garten. Basically, you drizzle a little olive oil in a roasting dish, add raw brussels sprouts (halved if small; quartered if big) and diced bacon. Roast. Then drizzle with a balsamic vinegar reduction (which you make ahead once and will last for ages - just boil balsamic vinegar until it's reduced to half its volume). I don't remember the exact temperature - likely 375-425ish - but I bet that can be googled.
  25. Not premature. My OB says anything from 37 weeks onward is full term. (Your official due date is 40 weeks.) I'm currently 38 weeks and at my appointment today was told I'm good to go any day now. So, no, if Jessa delivered 2 weeks before her due date, that doesn't necessarily mean the date was fudged.
