The Wonder Woman (I could look up her name, but nah) who said she had won some world competition -- that had to have been in a special subcategory, right? Because that tutu costume we saw was nothing special. Nothing! You know how the national spelling bee has gotten so popular? I'm thinking I'd like to see an entire competition televised. We barely see any other costumes, and those only for 10 seconds each. I'd like to hear the judges ask their questions and get a better look at all the details. Boy, that Ashe costume is some kind of jinxed. I was disappointed for Rikki that the bow didn't work, because it did look cool lit up.

I didn't think it was the funniest episode, but "Cherry Poppins" made me choke-laugh. It must take a lot of work and timing for Chris to get his beardly scuff exactly right every day. Just shave, already.

Greedy bride Shawanda also had the oddest bushy/misshapen eyebrows, and was wearing what looked like a cheap (and ill-fitting) chambray or denim shirt dress over slacks. Fashion maven, indeed.

The friend who demanded that the bride go significantly over budget because she doesn't believe in sparing any expense when it comes to fashion can bite me. There aren't enough shut-ups in the world. Not that bride Shawanda didn't agree, but the friend bothered me more. I realize that blond bride's ticket to the show was her sob story about growing up in an orphanage, but having her crowbar that fact into her introduction was ridiculous. I felt sorrier for the consultant having to listen to that than I did for the bride.

Yep. I'm not your life coach, Louis. Enough, already. My reaction to the show is similar to how I felt about Men of a Certain Age. I appreciated that it was so well written and acted, but damn. What a downer.

Sure seems that way. The audience is primed to laugh by the first person. I wonder how the editors choose which answer to show in which order?

Both shows feature sadsack losers, but somehow Maron doesn't bother me while Louis does. Go figure. I was glad to see the last of Jen, not so much because of her character but because watching bad relationships that are bad in a true-to-life way makes me sigh in a depressed way.

It's funny how the comics always seem to play to the audience instead of the camera. I'm hoping we get some good viewer submissions making fun of Chris, just to see him squirm. I was kind of happy already with "you suck 20 dicks!"

That one mad snort. All the hastags were pretty good last night. I always look online at the top viewer submissions from the night before and guess which one is going to be shown on air -- and I'm always wrong! Ah, sense of humor. So individual.

He was a successful businessman/entrepreneur before winning the first season of The Apprentice and has what seems to be a very financially successful career now as a motivational speaker, real estate developer, TV host and producer, restaurant owner, etc. I (stupidly) remember from The Apprentice that his first business was Cigars Around the World, which he had previously sold. I'm not sure if he was involved in real estate development before Trump, but he wasn't a carpenter or contractor. I don't doubt that their "cachet" as a couple has helped both of them land gigs they might otherwise have not, but Bill was and is pulling in a ton of money in his own right. Kind of the Stedman to Giuliana's Oprah.

I sometimes wonder along the same lines -- like, the cops will have arrested/detained someone and they're positive he/she committed the crime, then they're proven wrong by DNA or an alibi or whatever. The cop invariably states how "disappointing" or "frustrating" it was. Really? Isn't ruling someone out progress? Isn't part of their jobs to make sure innocent people aren't wrongly arrested? The personal drive, especially for the attorneys, to be right and "win" is ultimately destructive to the judicial process, I think.

I don't know what any of the other competitors do to make their livings, but it's starting to seem a little unfair to me that Holly and Jessica are pretty much professionals with Crabcat and have access to high-level companies and resources. Not accusing them in any way of cheating or taking advantage, just that I'm not sure it's a level playing field. But then, they don't win all the time, either. Oh, Carl. That costume was doomed, despite all the help from your nice sister. So hurried and slapdash. At least his hubris was punished, because the boy was in a certain amount of pain from all the hunching and skin-gouging. I'm over his chocolate milk and unnecessary shirtlessness. I have a girl crush on Chloe. She's so (a) normal and pleasant, or (b) a good actress. Either way, seems like she'd be a delight to know.

Oy, so true! She turned a pretty cottage into a hybrid, no-style monstrosity. The interior was okay, but all that work and effort to make it into a contemporary house kind of broke my heart.

Amidst all my fast-forwarding, I sometimes do stop to watch the final house tour, just to make sure it's considerably over budget and out of the homeowners preferred neighborhood. There have been parents who wanted a new house because their child's playroom was too small to hold all the toys. Sigh. I won't drive it home, but we're all thinking it.

Lenny just wanted to prove that Lenny Knows Best when he gave what's-her-name that advice. He wasn't pissed afterwards about helping her, he was pissed because she didn't give him credit. Which, please. She may have known what to do all along and was ignoring his bigmouth belt. I took that comment to be not so much "your heritage," but "you have to say something" while cooking. You can't simply stand there and narrate what viewers are seeing, or we might as well just read the danged recipe. The network's emphasis on family stories is super ridiculous, but anything would work -- a tip about shopping for a particular ingredient, or its growing season, or how to use it in other recipes, or a memorable previous time they made the dish. The "star" has to be able to relate to people and make his/her show interesting.

I'm neutral about his voice or appearance, but his florid prose annoys me (I assume he writes his own copy). If the story is set in Nebraska, his narration would be something like: "As the amber waves of grain grow peacefully in the fields, a dark smudge inks its way onto Oak Lane..." And his constant rhetorical questions: "Was that the truth? Was it a lie? There's no way to know now." He seems to think he's Aesop, writing a morality tale for the ages and that every story needs his personal, philosophical summary.

The tipping point for me is bathrooms -- one for a family of 4+ and I'm all, "LIST IT!"

Those danged crystal/beaded belts can cost upwards of $500, and the consultants fling those around for almost every bride. Upsell, ladies!

The craziest part of that to me was that Gilles never said anything to the police about his attack! His version made it sound like he was just so stunned: "Did that actually happen?" that he was unable to fully process it. But Altinger would likely still be alive if Gilles hadn't opted to whimper in a corner by himself. But then, I have a special grievance against people who know about or witness crimes (especially teenagers) and blithely go their way.

Amy was such a vixen with the social sciences! I also loved Amy and Sheldon's video chat conversion in The Agreement Dissection when Amy has a hangover and found the Korean man's business card tucked into her cleavage. Mayim really sold it.

Cat toys -- I had a cat who was fascinated by Q Tips. If I was using one, she'd run over and stare up at me longingly. I ended up tying one to a string to use for chasing. She's also the one who would drag toys to her water bowl to drown them after capture.

From The Closure Alternative: Sheldon: No. They can’t just cancel a show like Alphas. You know? They have to help the viewers let go. Firefly did a movie to wrap things up. Buffy the Vampire Slayer continued on as a comic book. Heroes gradually lowered the quality season by season till we were grateful it ended. It's funny because ... This wasn't a line, but Sheldon's surprise and chagrin in that same episode when Amy continually denied him closure was hysterical. Her expression and body language when she erased the the tic-tac-toe game were particularly great, too.
