Reminds me of an old Erykah Badu quote. Someone once asked her "so you're wearing your hair natural now?" Erykah's response was: "Natural? You mean the way it grows out of my head?"

They really are cute together. And the unrestrained PDA was hilarious - as was Britta's reaction to it. Nice to see a mature couple in love. One of the things that keeps me tied to GH is that we have at least three "root-able" couples: Laura and Kevin, Liz and Finn, and Liesel & Scotty. Btw, saw an old Love Boat episode with Kin Shriner last week. Amazing how his mannerisms and acting style haven't changed one bit over the decades - he talked with his hands in 1977 too.
-
Agreed. I wretched when Olivia asked Ned "So was all of that just to impress me?" Lady, you had a baby with Mooby. Does it really take that much to impress you?

She's not on the show, but hello! Robin! Maxie, (even though she's acting not so smart these days, but understandable). Thanks for that GHScorpiosRule! I like them both, especially adorable Robin, but yeah. Maxie has been so ba-ba-booey these days she fell off my radar.

Even as a straight guy I've gotta admit DZ is a good-looking young man. It amazes me how none of the Qs or anyone else in Willow's orbit doesn't see that this woman needs counseling. Would love to see the little turd brought down a few pegs. Jeez, other than Elizabeth and Dante are any of the offspring of legacy characters not horrible people???? ETA - Ned is basically ok, so maybe it's not all bad.

Definitely not vanilla. A vanilla shake or cone with some sprinkles or chocolate topping can make one smile. The SLS and his wanna-be Stepford wife certainly do not.
-
Yeah, you can't convince me that at least one of the writers doesn't visit these boards at least occasionally. That whole "vanilla" thing was just too specific.

Not sure about the time-line, but I wonder if Darren Starr was preoccupied with the SATC re-boot. It's been a long time since a show has fallen apart like this in its final season. But it was time to wrap this up anyways. As another poster stated elsewhere the entire cast, even Kelsey, look much more, uh, mature now. Looking closely at Liza with my unforgiving, HD, big screen TV, it's hard to imagine now that she could ever passed for 26. "Younger" indeed. Guess the concept was never meant to last much longer than it has, although SF is still holding up really well.

Not a spoiler, just a hunch: Jax is going to get a job as a Professor at Joss's college so he can keep an eye on her. The way Ingo played it, you could almost see the idea written across his face as it came to him.

Based on tomorrow's preview St. Jasus handles Joey Novak in the softest way possible. GH writers, if you're reading this, check out how a real gangsta, Tony Soprano handled a similar issue (note- not for the faint of heart): Don't mess with Meadow Soprano

I remember what Original Recipe Edward (who I'll always love) once told Lila about Tracy Q, "well, she's always been a Horsey woman - you know - Big Boned." Boy, that comment wouldn't play well with today audience at all. ETA - I still miss JE a lot, she would add so much to GH's canvass right now. And the way she exited last time around was horrible.
-
Agreed. I wasn't a fan when she took over the role, but AS and the character has grown on me. Think it started when the writers stopped trying to make her Tracy 2.0. I also get a kick how she's branded herself as "BLQ," even though every time I hear it there's an urge for a BLT sandwich - but not from Kelly's.
-
Heh - I remembered that right before you commented. Let the kidnapping and pistol-whipping begin! It'll be good for what ails him. On a more serious note, I loved Laura in Grandma mode today. And it appears Carly and Alexis were competing for "biggest hypocrite" crown today, and Natasha won it running away.
-
And then today he was an obnoxious asshole to Cam, and spoke like Ava was some peasant who married his father, all to/right in front of Laura's face. I'm happy that Laura scolded Spencer, but it should have been a harder smackdown. I have to wonder, was he going to add his beloved grandmother to his list of enemies if Laura said anything positive about Ava. I liked Cam's snark about Spencer's ego. Spencer was extra-Douche today. I couldn't stop thinking "nothing wrong with that boy that a good kidnapping and prolonged pistol-whipping couldn't fix." Not that I'm advocating violence on this show or anything. In other news, I hope Austin becomes the friend Chase so desperately needs. His old PCPD partner and buddy Dante doesn't seem to have much time for Chase.

Bo always had a 1950s, "hard-boiled," "man's man" air about him. He so wouldn't have fit in on GH these days, a show where Mooby and Jasus are the exemplars of masculinity.

Same here. I grew up with the Actress (Vernee Watson) and happy to see a mature, female POC getting so much work (she's also a Lead on Bob Hearts Abishola). But as a true veteran in this medium she deserves so much better than this dreck. Aunt Stella doesn't have to be a Saint like Mary Mae Ward, just write her like a normal person. Can it be that difficult?

There's an old theory that if you put an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of typewriters one of them will write the Great American Novel. Another monkey will write a GH script.

Although I generally enjoyed Friday's show - primarily due to Rep. Stacey Plaskett, who I didn't know anything about - there is definitely a "tired-ness" starting to surface. The show has become formulaic in an odd way - the opening segment is now mostly used as a forum for Bill to shoot-the-shit with friends or folks he admires (Tarantino, De Grasse Tyson and now Eric Adams), the Round-table segment that now has an obligatory feel to it, and then the hot-and-cold running New Rules to wrap things up. Unless he's just doing this for the dollars, I wouldn't be surprised to see Bill hang it up in another year or two.
-
Agreed. Btw, is your Avatar Dame Helen Mirren? I love her!

As a melanin-rich Black man myself, isn't it sad that this is still a thing in 2021? At least we have Molly and TJ's domestic partnership to hold on to. Also, as another poster pointed out, it's been ages since this show has featured so many African Americans on screen, I think you have to go all the way back to the Ward family when this last happened. I almost cheered out loud when we saw that Curtis had hired a deep, dark Ebony Princess to tend bar. And although I'm mostly indifferent to Shawn, I also enjoyed the very real-feeling interactions between he and Curtis recently. At least some things on this soap are getting better.

Kin Shriner's been on GH for over 40 years now, and most of the time he's been hair-style challenged. I recall he and Tony Geary used to joke about each other's hair back in the day.

It's almost like the writers have been reading our posts and decided to throw us a bone. Thing I still don't get about the Nixon Fails S/L is that Nina knows the kind of person Sonny was - and probably still is deep down inside. Add to that the fact that neither has ever shown the slightest interest in the other, and none of this makes any sense. Particularly from Nina's end, unless she wants to be part of the club of "Brenda bots" (TM Olivia Falconeri) that Sonny and Jax have shared over the years.

I think none of them should have been cancelled. they could have found ways to save money. but it was like aww when I heard the Llanview mention. Of my relatives that watched ABC soaps, GH was always their least favorite, even during its late 70s-mid 80s heyday. I still believe Oprah missed out on a second fortune when OWN didn't pick up AMC and OLTL after the Prospect Park online debacle.
