  1. Gosh darn it - GH! I'm liking you again. There's a late 80s and early 90s feeling now, especially with the organic cast integration. Had Dante and Finn ever shared a scene before? Even with Dante's many hospitalizations? Even the behavior of un-likable characters is more realistic now. The teasing banter among the Carlys and Dumbledore seemed like a real family dynamic. Such conflict here. Although Carly Sr. is a succubus, LW is a stunningly beautiful woman - who could blame Jagger? And they were clearly feeling each other today. Was so worried we'd get Jasus and She-Beast Part III. Re: Ava - hard to say what her real game is but damn - unlike a few here, I feel like those bangs have done wonders for her, dramatically softening her face and flattering its unique contours. As one of the few Lucas Lorenzo Spencer fans on this site, it feels good to me. I will never get over that his character appears to be really, truly dead. In an off-screen, totally pointless death that didn't advance any particular narrative. However, IRL, even Luke detractors wouldn't want to see him as a feeble geriatric walking with a cane. Re: Cyrus - JK has been knocking it out of the park recently. Clearly the new showrunners have decided to make his conversion totally authentic - and his chat with Laura today was some of the most mature, realistic dialogue this show has seen in ages. There was a moment there when he was discussing the failed radio show where he gave off a real John Malkovich vibe.
  2. Ok - I'm going to be the one to say it. Drew to Nina: "45 minutes of hate sex on my office floor." Really dude? With those pecs and abs??? Guess the character is not old enough to remember the song "60 Minute Man." It was a hit for Billy Ward & Dominoes in 1953, check it out on YT. Well, at least Drew tried.
  3. Because then we'd be subjected to more Brick and nobody wants that. Except for Stephen A. Smith.
  4. From the second I first saw NuNuJordan, my first thought was, "Well, she's pretty, can't act a lick, but could always be a stunning model." And as cringe-worthy as a potential pairing with Drew is, would we really rather see her with Brick???? As a fan of Hallmark movies, I've got to stand up for Ryan Peavy - he was sub-par on GH, but has actually become a very competent romantic lead on the Hallmark Channel. Check out "A Timeless Christmas," he was very, very good in that. Re: the Bloated cast - about a third of the cast could be culled and no one would miss them. So many, like Sasha and Cody seem to serve absolutely no purpose at all. Blaze and her Mom don't seem to be destined for a long stay unless the Mom is paired with Sonny, which will probably happen. And why the heck is Lois still hanging around??? As another poster stated, doesn't she have a job? A home of her own? Come to think about it, I haven't seen Ned in ages. Think it all boils down to this: too many characters, not enough stories, even with the better writing these days.
  5. An organic, warm moment portrayed by two vets. Tracy seems to have softened of late, smiles a lot more and a bit of twinkle in her eye. Nice to see. Under the new writing regime, every character except Snarly and Nina has toned it down a bit. Not sure how much more of Hysterical Heather I could have taken. Lots of characters interacting outside of their normal circles in ways that seem adult and mature. Really hope its lasts.
  6. As a Black man around Marshall's age, it was triggering and actually made me think about giving up this show for the first time in 42 years. Back in the day, there was a lot for men of color in our age group to be angry about. And a lot of people not understanding or mis-interpeting that anger. But it is over now, and enough said about that. The good thing is, I'm more team Kevin Collins now than ever before. In other news, after seemingly trying to turn over a new leaf, it looks like Caroline is back to being Snarly Carly now. It was fun while it lasted.
  7. Great catch on the alias! I have a feeling that's the new writer having some laughs at the expense of the former writing crew. Yeah, the whole "I was protecting myself" thing rings so false. if nothing else, Original Recipe Jasus was nothing if not "selfless," LOL. Ava and Valentine? Chef's Kiss. And just like that, Valentine went from the most boring Cassadine ever to one that has my full attention. Other than the wrap-up to Marshall's mental illness (which, other than Kevin's scholarly analysis was so cringe-worthy I couldn't bring myself to even comment on it), the whole show has been so much better.
  8. Yes, because Heaven forbid that Marshall get a second, third or even fourth opinion.
  9. True. I remember when Carly generously gave their original wedding date to Luke and Laura ahead of their ill-fated third (?) marriage. It still stands out in my mind because it was so uncharacteristic of Carly and I felt Jasper had something to do with that.
  10. They were one of GH's most attractive couples, in a "Master Race" kind of way (TM Jill Kendall from Mom).
  11. I had a question re: Lucky and Maxie, but Daisy answered it already, mostly. But it wasn't Kirsten Storms' version of Maxie that got fixes for Lucky, was it?
  12. Because no one on a soap can stay single for very long, except for Cyrus.
  13. Anna also sobs uncontrollably at the Bear family in the bathroom tissue ads too.
  14. Also, a lot of us old-timers recall SB's love scene with Kimberly McCullough where his pants were...ah... noticeably tighter in a certain place, if you know what I mean. I actually remember screen captures posted on TwOP back in the day.
  15. Preach. Remember this line (paraphrasing) "I had an awful childhood, there was very little love in the house," as Carmella sat next to him, rolling her eyes. They were at the therapist's office to talk about his suicidal son, not him. In other news, the sooner Brooke Lynn gets out of that horrible wedding dress the better. As they say, kindly, "It's not for you."
  16. As my peeps would say, "tore up from the floor up."
  17. Did anyone else notice that today was kind of a Black History Month shout-out? Multiple Shawn Butler references, Stella's cringe-worthy "You is free" proclamation and Marshall's angry "I don't feel free" retort, it hurt my feelings as a Black man. Hey morons-in-charge, why didn't you just bring back Brian and Claudia while you're at it? And end with clips of Justus and Mary Mae Ward? For Fuck's sake!
  18. Now Streaming: Only Murders in the Pulpit. Starring Dan Aykroyd, Shakira and Eddie Murphy.
  19. She's actually the only authentic mobster we've had on GH for years. Really miss her scariness. GF's facial reactions to Cyrus are pure Gold. You can tell she's not sure how to feel about her half-brother. And poor Kevin is stuck with the BIL from Hell (hey, that rhymes!) Particularly when it's backed up with white whiskers whenever MB doesn't have time to shave. He should take a page from silver fox MEK's book. He makes grey look distinguished and sexy.
  20. We have one locally and I don't understand it. Also not thrilled with the idea of being surrounded by people who are good at it. There's an axe-throwing school in my community. One block over from an escape room. Makes me wonder about my new neighbors.
  21. Can't imagine it would be anyone else. Even this writing crew has to see that having SB slide back into his old role as Sonny's side-kick is nothing anyone wants to see. Plus, it would be the first time Sonny's had a truly worthy adversary instead of a semi-annual, made-to-order Loser (Oh how we miss the Balkan, heh). Plus that would likely mean SB's only back short-term (since Sonny can never truly lose, ala Victor Newman), and we could all rejoice about that.
  22. Totally agree. There was real emotion in the room, and it was clear that JZ was well-loved and the feeling was mutual. When JZ appeared in the YT spoof of soaps, her office was decorated with pictures of co-stars she clearly adored, Kin Shriner, Anthony Geary and Sonja Eddy.
  23. Knowing these writers, that could still be in play. I saw some anvils there, and the Spencers are the only Legacy family more decimated than the Qs. Maybe Angela is Bobbie's unknown other daughter, or perhaps belongs to Patricia Spencer, who died before we even got to know her.
  24. As I mentioned over on the 60th-anniversary thread, the only time we get to see Sonny ("180 pounds of pure muscle" according to Diane) personally beat up someone is with a frail senior citizen who recently recovered from a heart attack and is wearing a hearing aid. In a Church. Wow, our Leading Man, people. Another thing, no true Mob Kingpin would deliver that kind of beating to a rival and leave him alive to tell the tale. Sonny isn't good enough to lick Tony Soprano's shoes.
  25. If we ever needed proof that the showrunners are absolutely, shamelessly tone deaf....
