  1. How can you fight a Dalek without the Doctor? Did anyone else read this and think of “The Stolen Earth”? And maybe also wonder if the copy writer did not or think fans have short memories? Ten did show up, as Thirteen inevitably will here too, but Jack and Torchwood, Rose, Jackie, Mickey, Martha, Sara Jane and Harriet Jones were putting up a good fight without knowing if or when Ten would appear. I doubt they will call back to that time.
  2. It’s been running for 31 years?! Wow! I feel that the Hershey’s people have missed the point in saying that they would run both the new and old versions of the commercial. People don’t like the new one because it interrupts the original so they/we suggested that they separate the two by cutting it into a new commercial. We all wait for that “phew” at the end, Hershey’s tptb.
  3. Yes, it is. It's even their name for the spot: Thank you, @CrazyInAlabama and @Moose135!! I looked up a lyrics video so I could fill in all blanks. I also figured that the other thing that was bugging me was how the song was slowed down for the promo. Just something off.
  4. Does anyone know the name of the song playing under the new CNN promo? It’s driving me crazy, I can almost remember it but it is just on the edge of memory.
  5. Wasn't he the one from that stupid spider episode? Edited to add: I just looked it up, and yeah, he was. But IMDB lists his character as Robertson, not Robinson. In any case, the only Jack I'm looking forward to seeing in the special is Harkness. My thought when reading this was of all the guests tptb picked him? Very unwelcome character.
  6. First they had Donna come on to voice Scrooge’s nemesis and now Missy as his sister? I love the voice casting directors for this show! Thank you for sharing this!
  7. Clogging! How did I miss the clogging commercial? I guess my 2 brain cells didn’t recognize it as part of the series. And I like that one, I try to watch a different dancer each time it comes on. Prevailing Wind you said it, that kid is great!
  8. Geico commercials Ratt problem - clever and fun with a bit of nostalgia thrown in Aunt problem - okay but still amusing Fencing problem - a real stretch, a definite miss for me
  9. Moving this quote over here because this commercial has me scrambling for the remote. Shame on the person who decided to use Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. I don’t think it’s even Nina Simone singing.
  10. Yum! Though I can’t have dairy, I can still appreciate a tasty sounding creation. I am by no means a kitchen chemist. Trying out the vegan/vegetarian substitutions has been a very hit or miss process.
  11. It is a gift you have, and peacheslatour and others like who can cook like that. I’m lucky if everything turns out okay following a recipe I have a little better luck with baking.
  12. And they/we are the ones who know all the lyrics to the song, so wonder what were the advertisers thinking using that song. (And then come here to complain about them.)
  13. Do you mind sharing the recipe? Yes, I’m collecting recipes. I’ve been trying to find one to replace the one I grew up with since having had to go dairy free. I’m mixing techniques until I find one I like.
  14. Cheersin? Cheersin? Dunkin, making up words instead of donuts?
  15. Interesting, never thought about the guy moving between houses nor about them subtracting things rather than adding them. I thought that may be the case too, like with a green screen, but the commercial has been around for years. Was CGI that good 10 years ago? I had not thought about how they made the commercial before this year. For some reason after seeing it for the third or fourth time in an hour, I started to wonder?
  16. This isn’t about the product the commercial is promoting, it’s insurance after all, but a head scratching query about how they made the Geico commercial with the neighbors decorating their houses. The guy whose house gets progressively more elaborate seems not to change his position on the ladder. Is he up against a green screen? I can’t imagine him climbing down between shots for the crew to add more decorations. That would be a lot of downtime for the actor, npi.
  17. Just a theory, it isn’t that there is suspense about what will happen rather the anticipation of a favorite moment. It is like watching a movie you’ve seen a bazillion times but you still savor the hero’s sudden arrival, the denouement revealing the solution to a whodunnit, and so on.
  18. Interesting! Care to share with the class?
  19. I thought she was hinting that her husband is not the child's father. Does she resent the child's real father for leaving her or her husband not divorcing her? 🤔 I think it is that she is negatively commenting on her child’s artistic ability and being really dismissive of the child’s feelings. I don’t find the commercial funny at all.
  20. I thought it was the lament of a workaholic father realizing he missed his son’s life. Either way, it is another weird pairing of song to product. I know I’m going to regret this, can someone remind me what was the previous song they used, the one with the very precise race car driver.
  21. Thanks for the suggestion. None of my family has the app, as far as I know. Not sure if I want to get it just for this one show. I will wait until it comes on Disney+. In the meantime, I will enjoy everyone’s comments and reviews of the episodes.
  22. Thank you for the suggestion. I don’t have the app. I thought I could watch it on the Disney+ subscription, but they only have the first two seasons. Ii really irks me that the on demand feature now has all the episodes as pay per view not just the new ones.
  23. Whenever it comes on, I close my eyes and imagine this one playing.
