  1. She wasn't really discussing it though. She was shutting down conversation by saying she simply believed everything the Bible said and she "doesn't like to talk about it." Derick was trying to explain his more nuanced, reality-based view of the Genesis story and Jill might as well have put her hands over her ears. You got a window into how narrow and rigid her education was.
  2. One interesting thing: Moses Farrow has an instagram. Nowhere on his Instagram are any recent pictures of Woody or SoonYi. Makes me wonder how much contact they actually have.
  3. Fenna found herself a chair. Nice flex Fenna! Don't settle for anything other than the best.
  4. I wonder if Jill is doing it partly to stick it to Joy. Joy's dog Brielle disappeared quickly. Poor Brielle. I hope she found a better home though.
  5. Another Fenna sighting today in Jill's stories! Team Fenna.
  6. USC vs Kansas was one disappointing blowout.
  7. I will say one thing nice: Fred Brennan's Pomeranian is cute.
  8. Women back then were taught to abstain during the pregnancy. So if Bonnie was a honeymoon baby then it's possible Rhett and Scarlett didn't actually have that much sex since she shut him out pretty quickly after Bonnie's birth and Rhett wouldn't have pushed Scarlett to resume relations until her body was recovered.
  9. I am so upset that I watched this documentary and now need to do a brain bleach because I can't unsee the "diaper porn" forums.
  10. So ... I've never even known how to get to 8chan. Is it in the dark webs? I don't think you can just click on a link to get there. But I looked up some of the "Qtubers" and it seems as if Liz Crokin still has her channel. The Qtubers I thought were the most interesting group. I noticed that many of them seem intelligent and generically good-looking. Why would they do this?
  11. He went to public schools. In public schools if you're a young earth creationist people will definitely look at you weird.
  12. I was surprised how fierce Jill was about insisting on the literal creationism story. Most Christian people nowadays believe what Derick believes -- that the creationism story wasn't meant to be taken literally but metaphorically. She looked triggered just by Derick saying "we don't know everything."
  13. Serious question: what job COULD Jill get? If Derick has his own law firm one day I suppose she could be trained to do some clerical work. But no degree of any sort, no job experience, no training ...

I recommend people read Hang Time. It's one of the better sports autobiographies. The racism and segregation black athletes had to face in the 1950s was absolutely appalling. I can't imagine traveling with a team and then being told you couldn't eat with the team at a restaurant or stay at the same hotel as the team. He also has some interesting things to say about Wilt Chamberlain (they did NOT get along).

"Damn RIP" is trending on twitter and when I clicked on the trending topic I found out. How sad 😞 What a legend.
  16. I tried once explaining what Q was to my mom. She was like "Wait, who are the vampires again?" At which point I gave up. But I always feel uncomfortable with exposes about Qanon and this documentary was no different, because I feel like no matter how well-intentioned it always seems like reporters manipulating some deeply unwell people to say nutty things on camera. I also think it gives these people an open mic to say stuff like "George Soros has a submarine full of babies to be eaten." These people do not need a megaphone. They need help.
  17. When Jill kept saying how much she "didn't want to talk about it" you could see Derick pressing his lips and looking like he was about to let out an exasperated sigh. It seemed like he was trying to gently tell her that you can believe in the Bible's creationism story while acknowledging that the Bible doesn't 'answer everything' and therefore that six days story doesn't have to be taken literally, but she wasn't having any of it. And yeah, all of a sudden I got a window into what day-to-day life with Jill might be like. When Derick said "I believe in gravity" you could kind of see a blank look wash over Jill.
  18. It's going to be rougher when Izzy and Sam are both in school and she can't help them with their homework.
  19. I thought Derick looked visibly annoyed when Jill was so pressed about literal creationism. His position is one I'm familiar with. They think "six days" is more like a metaphor and "days" could mean eras that span millions of years.
  20. Not really a surprise. Derick went to public schools when he was young. He had to have taken science classes. Even if he doesn't believe in evolution he seems to know that the Bible doesn't answer "all" questions. Jill looked very pressed. Wonder if sometimes she resents him because he's so much more educated than her.

Heartbreaking season-ending injury for LaMelo Ball. He was for sure going to be ROTY too.
  22. Heartbreaking loss for Rutgers 😞
  23. Fenna is adorable. I stan. If Jill knows what's good for her, she'd make a separate social media account for Fenna.
  24. Watched video. Side hugging to marriage wasn't awkward. She hasn't been to TTH in years. Wow. They're invited but they don't go. Still believe in creationism, but believe in science like gravity. They will allow that they "don't know" how old the earth is. Says the Bible is 100% true, but it doesn't "answer everything." Jill seems more resistant to the idea of a more fluid creationism than Derick, surprisingly. Derick thinks it's important to be raised not to rely on a man. He doesn't want 30 year old kids living in their basement. Jill seems very uncomfortable when Derick says this. Fenna is still around and someone sent Fenna doggie toys. Fenna is going to obedience training. She's very "active" and "loving." Which basically describes every puppy ever. Open to more kids.

Depends on the sprain. Some sprains are worse than bone fractures. I had a sprain that didn't heal for maybe six months. Several torn ligaments. Even today it's not the same. I used to be able to run about 10k every day. Now I can no longer do that.
