  1. I really am starting to get irritated with the use of the word "hubby" or "hubs."
  2. I think she's also talking about BCP, because it's a big fundie talking point that BCP CAN prevent implantation.
  3. H/B have withdrawn from Worlds.
  4. She might be "joyfully available" but considering Ben and Jessa don't seem to like each other very much, maybe Ben is "unjoyfully unavailable."
  5. Jessa rather defensively says in the video that she gets "baby fever" because they're "so cute." Then she says she's not against birth control, only the types that prevent implantation. She looks about as thrilled to be pregnant as she is with teaching the kids. "Baby fever" indeed. More like Saturday night sex night led to #5.
  6. I don't think Jessa is thinking towards her kids' futures in a deep way. I think she assumed Ivy and Fern will get married and be their headships' problems, while Spurge and Henry can find some sort of manual labor job. But mostly, it seems to be all about "owning the haters" with Jessa.
  7. Not saying this is the case with Joy, but some women wear winter coats to hide their growing belly. When I taught at a school with a lot of teen moms, this was one of the giveaways -- wearing a winter coat in seasonable weather.
  8. Why do people stalk kids and think it's okay? People suck.
  9. I wonder why Jessa doesn't buy a ready-made curriculum. There are homeschooling curricula that follow a sequence. Jessa clearly has zero talent for teaching.
  10. What's worse is Jesa's tone of voice during the "teaching." She sounds bored out of her mind. No excitement. No engagement. Honestly, she;d do better buying one of those ready-made curriculums.
  11. Bruno Massot says he has PTSD from skating with Aljona:
  12. Gideon shouldn't be with a shovel with no shoes on. Seriously what is Joy's phobia of shoes?
  13. I really hope Jill puts the kids in a Christian school, if she won't put them in a public school.

Nate McMillan was giving his walking papers.

I mentioned this in the Prince Harry thread, but Act One by Moss Hart is one of my favorite memoirs. It's not an autobiography, as it's not chronological, nor does it cover much of his life. But he does describe his lonely childhood, his slow climb to literary fame, so well and so vividly. The book is full of humor and life.

    The NBA

I've never really gotten the point of All Star games.
  18. Also, I disagree with Ellie. I think the eggplant colored coat looked great. It's a lot like my heavy winter coat.
  19. Amazing acting from Pedro Pascal this episode.
  20. Not really excusing Lea but Lea was a child actress. Many child actors develop a reputation for rude, unprofessional behavior when they become adults.
  21. I have a former friend like that. She always said that she was rude and mean because her family was abusive and dysfunctional. But she would never stop with the mean, rude comments. It became simply unpleasant to be around her, and over time I cared less tbh about her childhood, because she was now an adult and still selfish, rude, and self-absorbed.
  22. Ok what do you do with this: I have a co-worker that I'm friendly with and he is constantly asking for money. The month before last he asked for $400. He paid it back, but then promptly asked for $500. He paid back the $500 a few days ago, and asked me for $500 again. This time I said that I couldn't because I have to pay a mortgage and bills. The first time it was child support, the second time IRS back taxes, this tme it's to help his dad pay for a divorce lawyer? I see him every day so it's awkward to say no.
  23. Last week I saw Lea Michele in Funny Girl. I had previously seen it with Julie Benko, who was lovely. But omg, Lea Michele took the show to a whole new level. She ALMOST made the weakness of the book (especially in Act 2) bearable. Her pipe are amazing. Tickets are expensive but if you buy close to curtain time there are some $99 seats available.
