  1. God, please no. My mind immediately went to what that might mean and it shut down in self defense. Some of the usual suspects aside, I was impressed with some of the script and more especially the acting today. It does seem like they're hinting at something about Victoria getting out of control. Personally she always seems unhinged, though, not someone anyone serious would want in a leadership position. As mediocre as the Chancellor Winters story is, I'm now actually looking forward to the days when it's on. Despite not being much of the fan of the characters involved, they're not repulsive level creeps like the Newmans, and any time taking away from that is good. When Adam dumped Sally, all the indication was that he (foolishly) trying to get her to keep the job. It was arrogant and dumb, but I don't remember him prioritizing any revenge scheme over her.
  2. More like a nightmare. I gotta be careful for what I wish for, because I was REALLY hoping for a day without the Newmans, but at this point it's basically a guarantee of seeing Phyllis. Who ever increasingly has a cracked Southern granny vibe about her. Jack was great today though. Everything he said to Adam was true and of course will be ignored. He's definitely a bit naive about Diane- and I like Diane. I think it's that he's becoming attracted to her again, plus being a decent person who wants to give her another chance when she seems to be doing the right things. I could probably wind up liking Adam again, but I'm sick of the manbaby Get Daddy's Attention storyline. And unfortunately, I suspect the end result of this one is Grampire being so impressed by Adam's "ruthlessness" like his hottie old man, that he welcomes him back into the fold where we can start it all over again.
  3. Chance is playing this all wrong. Go be the Newman's lapdog on the force, or actually do your job and stand up to them. Passively doing their dirty work and then talking shit to Victor- which admittedly I love and wish everyone would do to the pissant- just looks pathetic. An air pods gift is ultimately what's going to bring down Billy and Lily's relationship. She's not coming back from that one, dummy.
  4. Yay, the post Newman-victory episode. I felt nothing for Victoria. She continuously makes bad choices and gets bailed out by Daddy, and generally isn't a pleasant person unless you're a Newman sycophant. Pretty much knew what Chance's justification was going to be, and it was straight bulljive. The Newmans don't get to decide what the law is, and what a great precedent to let them get away with it as long as they're just "protecting" someone. Credit to Abby I guess for at least having the awareness of what she was saying, but she'll probably be back to being a family apologist in no time. Thought that dress/color looked great on MO though. Ah, Victor doesn't get why Ashland being alive and just gone would be a better alternative. Never mind that his son and daughter wouldn't have had to go through a violent traumatic experience, as long he got to "dominate" the situation. Great guy, great dad. Then again, Gramps was probably about to treat himself to a fresh new pair of Spanx to celebrate his latest big tough win...of course he was feeling good!
  5. The only thing left that convinces me EB doesn't have complete control is that Nadia's Theme hasn't yet been replaced by a Victor montage of punching guys and bedding women- and super smart CHESS- set to "I'm Too Sexy".
  6. Whoa there, Daddy Devon was UPSET when around the child? I thought he required no bad vibez or you can't be a dad? Abby was being ridiculous with her usual troll logic. Honestly Chance doesn't seem all that morally conflicted (nor should he be). He's concerned that Abby might be upset, but that's different. If the Newmans- I mean, Victor, same thing- didn't want to be made oh so miserable over this, they shouldn't have turned it into a crime for nothing. Literally all the angst everyone has should be directed at Victor, it's his stupid fault.
  7. Yeah, today continued the infinity streak of me wondering how Chelsea is supposed to be appealing to anyone. It's supposed to be charming that she's...eating popcorn and gleefully letting it fall on the floor like a slob. Really? It's funny how the Newmans seem to want to patent being the most protective family ever. Like they're so unique. Lots of families made up of actual decent human beings do it better than any of Grampire's minions ever will. Speaking of, Gramps only really started to get in a good mood once Noah professed his undying loyalty. Of course. Show, I repeat, STOP making me take Devon's side. That disclaimer aside, I don't see how Nate's screw ups have much to do with Devon at all. The whole focus on whether Devon is jealous is so weird. If Nate's supposed to be getting clearance for his ideas, and he's not...then that's the whole issue, and it's on him. Not a fan of either of them, but I love when characters from different parts of the show interact, so good job on the Nate/Victoria scene.
  8. Grampire: "What would you do if Abby was completely justified in defending herself, and I pointlessly covered it up to boost my ego and keep my grown children indebted"? Wow, great argument, moron. The Newmans- at least the sycophantic core of them- should absolutely all go to jail for this. Credit to Jack. For his flaws, I've realized he has chemistry with lots of women on this show- He and Diane at least looked like a glamorous couple today.
  9. Jeeze, Nate's being a dense one. Elena wasn't saying you should have been suspicious at the time the meeting was cancelled. She's saying you should realize NOW since Imani was all but revealed as bullshitting the whole thing. I can't believe he's that stupid. It seems more likely he wants to passively play dumb so he can oopsie himself into getting laid. Sally's transformation character wise has been almost incredible lately. Texting Adam at the end there was pretty cringe, but it's also probably realistic that her coming into her own is a work in progress (at least I hope so). Regardless, I'm legit happy for CH that they're finally letting her show what she can do.
  10. Boes, I want on record for a laugh and applause on this one. Well done.
  11. And there it is. Victor's pissy because Nick/Victoria aren't fawning over him (and they STILL mostly are) for his dumb plan that never even needed to happen in the first place. Time for a nap and a diaper change, sweetie. Not too thrilled with Abby's so called honest conversation with Chance today. She knows damn well what his decision already is, she could at least make the decision to support him or tell him straight up what she thinks. It never quite seemed like "his" until recently, but I think MG is really settling into the role as Adam. Which is too bad, because as mentioned above, his meandering around is probably just part of his big plan to win Daddy's favor. The veteran/cop trying to live up to the ideals of a difficult job, vs a trash criminal cult... I mean family. Who can truly know who's right, it's so "complicated". Ugh.... This show is exhausting sometimes.
  12. If you're going to have a mute character..well, it should be Phyllis. BUT, otherwise, Cait Fairbanks is the perfect fit. I've always loved her background reactions and they're clearly serving well here. Today was a lot of smoke being blown. Victoria, the toughest person anyone knows? Phyllis, savvy? Victoria keeps getting herself victimized and can't manage independence from her own father, and Phyllis is a 4 year old going on 60. Because Phyllis just made her VERY first mistake with mean old Jack, and deserves a second chance. Never mind she's bantering it up with his brother who she cheated with. Who also humiliated her daughter, but for some reason she's not a FIERCE hardass mother over that one? If Abby were smart (ahem..yes, I know), she'd just keep a polite distance from the rest of the Newmans. She's done far better than the others in part because of it, and they frankly do not care about her as actual family. Lol, everyone is going to be working at Marchetti. Except actual Italians, apparently.
  13. Is Victor's Baath Party-esque chess board supposed to be intimidating or something? Because it screams insecure new money blowhard who....wait, ok. Now that I think about, it fits perfectly. Meanwhile, I thought Jack was on point today. Handled Adam basically the exact way that works, with legit praise mixed in with some barbs- those two have a great rapport. And was surprised/relieved to see how he told Billy to F off. Jack comes off so much better when he just doesn't care IMO.
  14. OMG, this is scary accurate. I'm sure MS must have deep, method acting reason though for why Phyllis looks annoyed or bored as shit whenever she talks to her soulmate Jack , right? If Diane's actually some villain, then she's the best one the show's had in years. Whatever she's up to- if anything- SW has been an absolute gift to this show. She's so good. Come on, show. Make the REAL story here that the Diane haters crew is going to fail and turn on each other, and it serves them all right. Brilliant business man Victor outright says he just wants lackeys at Newman who'll protect his precious ego. I'll give Nick some credit here. While I wouldn't say he has a "right" to dislike Sally, since what happened with Summer didn't even hurt her and was nothing more than a petty business rivalry, he's Summer's dad and hasn't been nearly as hysterical as these other idiots.
  15. I also don't get why THAT was the example- in universe anyway- that Noah gave. Especially when he was ostensibly trying to point out how malevolent Victor can be. Taking over Jabot can pretty easily be brushed over as just nothing corporate warfare, but that's nowhere near the bad stuff he actually did. Between Victor and Crypt Keeper Corinthos over on GH, these soaps must share character creations sheets, with their "ruthless hottie who loves his family" crap. I actually think EB still has a decent amount of left, and is tolerable when he acts like a human being, but his idea of stepping back still seems to be basically fan fiction for his character. What was Nick even supposed to be arguing when he threw his little temper tantrum? He didn't deserve to be questioned because Ashland was annoying?
  16. A clue, hopefully. Of course Imani texts back immediately 🤣 Come on, the Dr. knows exactly what he's doing texting someone like that. I like the idea of just doing a regular clash of personalities corporate thing like with CW right now. But, I don't like either of the parties. Nate thinks it's some collaborative playtime where he can do whatever he wants. Devon is actually right in most of these situations, but it's Devon, so he's an asshole about it. MM has never looked better. Phyllis is a child, not sure if it's more annoying or disturbing at this point. There's no other character right now that brings down every scene they're in in the most predictably negative way.
  17. I can only imagine Nick's reaction when he was told it was a "double breasted" suit...
  18. I'm always going to be convinced that deep down some part of Victor LIKES when these incidents happen. So that he can show his kids he "takes care" of them and how much they need and owe him. Great father. Chance is raising his stock in this story, IMO. He finally looks competent and in his element, and it's coming off well. A lot of what Chloe said today is kind of self serving and she's probably going to say the same thing about Adam regardless. But still, she was right to do it and I do think she cares about Sally. The thing is, despite Adam probably not being as uncaring as she says he is, I can't blame Chloe because the end result of the stunts he pulls looks EXACTLY like what she warns about.
  19. Absolutely. I was growing to like Adam and Sally as a couple, and could even put up with the "breaking up with you for your own good" for a while, but this is too much. Complete dipshit move by Adam to assume that he knows what's best for Sally and what she wants, and put someone through that kind of pain. And it's not romantic to watch her begging to be taken back for something she didn't even cause. At some point, she's got to stand up for herself and move on if he's going to be so ridiculous. Like, it sucks, but that's on HIM. Nikki sure had some banger quotes today. Some faux brow zoology wisdom about predators (which was wrong, of course). Victoria's a kind and forgiving person. I mean, Victoria's a person I guess, but even that's debateable. And the kicker- "We've all fallen in love with the wrong people" Ahahahaha. Yes...you really have.
  20. Initial question: Did Nick bark, as in like a dog, when he entered the house? That's what it sounded like. Of course Victoria would think to "call dad". She's 40 something and he's...well....older, but yeah call dad to solve the problem. The strong, independent woman! And bringing Chance in, WTH? To force him to lie for them? As far as family goes, she ain't Abby so he doesn't owe her shit. Oh lord, if this is some drawn out saga of how the Newmans buried a body and lie about it to actual civilized human beings.... The longer the Diane story goes on like this, the more I can't fathom what they're doing here. The witch hunt goes on with the Mean Grandma Girls of GC trying to a ruin a woman's life, who we STILL haven't seen do anything particularly bad. They've even done the whole "inner thought bubble" thing with her, and it was all decent FFS.
  21. So, Victoria is so shook about Ashland that she can't handle being in a public park. But she'll let him in her house on a dark and stormy night after he knocks and stares dead eyed through her window. She really is Victor's daughter. An idiot.
  22. Yeesh, today was a bad one. The whole Ashley/Jack thing wasn't a complete surprise given the previews last week, but still worse than I thought. They did the typical soap thing where one character gives dogshit arguments for what they want (basically what Phyllis did wasn't bad simply because Ashley doesn't like Diane), and the opposing character isn't allowed to counter anything. Jack tried, I'll give him that, but they seem to be setting him up to the foolish old jerk who can't forgive valiant, brave Phyllis. IDK I kind of floated the CRAZY possibly that treating someone-someone important to your son- with some humanity doesn't mean that you absolve them or that they're your friend. Or that reaching out to a "pariah" friend who's clearly hurting doesn't mean you're naive, maybe just.... a decent person instead? I can't with this. Surprised Phyllis didn't start crying in the middle of talking to Allie and Noah. 🤡 CH sells the emotion so much, but it's not melodramatic. It's like watching a real life reaction, and it *hurts*. She's a damn star and it's a disgrace how she's been misused both on B&B and here so far.
  23. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure MS WANTS to wear this stuff. Like, people can truly wear whatever they feel is best for them, but as a random viewer this is beyond ridiculous and gross. It doesn't look good, it doesn't make her look good or sexayy or whatever she thinks it does. What's crazy is that when she was Nina on GH, she wore sweaters and normal clothes, and she DID look good. And, if this some troll job as an FU to certain, ahem, viewers....hmm, I think the joke's not on who you think it is. Regarding the none of it good preview for next week: I'd like to see all three of you out of GC before Diane. And Victor's "story" might as well be written and illustrated in Bang! Boom! Yougotthat! comic book format at this point.
  24. I'm sure the answer is "because he's being paid surprisingly well", but I don't otherwise know why RN was excited to play this character. He really does seem like a nice guy from what I've read, but he's ill suited (literally) for Ashland and every aspect of the story since he started makes him look like a complete chump. The aimless, finding a purpose thing is definitely real. But it's hard to see it as anything more than annoying when it's an existential wangst for people like Billy and Noah. These guys have effectively limitless money and opportunity to go "find" whatever they want, whenever they want. Every time someone mentions The Groaning Swill in casual conversation, like it's just what all the cool kids are listening to...oh man, the cringe. It hurts. AH looked cute in that fake flashback. I don't know why they don't style her like that all the time. The usual look they keep insisting on giving her is kind of more Fran from Dodgeball than Very Serious Businesswoman.
  25. Wow, nice gratuitous shot of Lily's gams to open the scene. Victor's lucky, Sally treated him with kid gloves, She's better at what she does than your doofus kid you gifted a position. And then there's Nick! Billy was on coke today, you can't convince me otherwise. It's not an improvement.
