  1. I mean, Tessa and Mariah's dresses made me think they should be frolicking outside a Bronze Age temple to the tune of Dionysian flutes....but I think it worked. Sharon, you didn't just have some cake. Stop it. All right, despite his many other missteps, Jack handled the bouquet situation like a champ, well played. Nick/Sharon: "No Faith, we don't need you to go, you'd be abandoning your date" Faith: "Are you sure, I actually totally want to ditch my date, as I'm sitting right in front of him" 🤣 Fun episode.
  2. LMAO, this right here. Dude does not have to explain to *anyone* why he's alone. I actually thought today was fine, but I'm a sucker for these event episodes where characters mingle and interact. Top of the Tower is about as a big of a set as we're going to get in this era, and was glad to see it again. Laying it on a little thick, Diane. For someone who's let her enemies make their own mistakes so far- and pretty successfully, too- it seems like she's overdoing it by going to visit Kyle again so soon. Random observation, whoa....Amanda/MM looked really good. Now dump the twerp, she can do much better.
  3. I found it really strange that they needed Rey/JV gone so quickly, that he didn't even get the standard goodbye dead guy scenes. It seems like something you'd do for guy that got kicked off the set and removed from the building. I highly doubt that was the case, but if it was acrimonious at all (JV doesn't seem happy about it), why the over the top push for sainthood after the character's dead?
  4. It looks like it's the same actress playing Crystal as when she was first on. I was very much ready to be annoyed by her reappearance, but wound up finding her and her scenes with Tessa to be really sweet. CG is an absolute treasure, and Sharon looked better than she has in a long time. As much as SC can phone it in, she's almost always on when working with Mariah and I love their interactions. Actually a lot to like about today TBH, but that's probably because I ignored TGVN/Victoria/Ashland. Weird how that works. Next week, OMG Phyllis. And NuSummer. But really, Phyllis...No.
  5. How is this possibly blood money? The dude lied a bunch of times. Taking $250 million to be used for a charity that MIGHT make a ne'er do well type figure look good is....not a difficult decision in the slightest imo. But then it's Nick, so it's clearly an impossible conundrum. I get kind of amused by the radical changes in height between Mariah and Tessa from one episode to another. I also thought it was kind of weird how Mariah acted when she heard about Crystal. The main things I remember in that story were how annoying Sharon was trying to solve the sex trafficking ring on her own, Tessa requesting a $100,000 advance on her salary at a coffee shop, and how Nikki gave zero fucks about the situation after Tessa screwed her over.
  6. Well, yes, but the news was already out there and fans were reaching out to him like it was their kid.
  7. I'm not a Burton fan at all, but given the ex's original post, I do get why he made the statement.
  8. Yeah, I'm sure a podcast where a man in his mid 40s rants hysterically about a guy who made him angry today is at the top of the App Store. Great save at the end by trying to somehow make it about "money and power" instead of just a hissy fit (which it was). Hey Jack, whatever it looks like you're about to say, shut up. You can basically see the wheels turning in his head of what he THINKS he has to think about this so Phyllis won't be mad at him. I really, really, hope this is not an "I told you so" where Saints Phyllis, Jack, and every single Newman get to be right about mean old Diane, because I feel like this is inevitably happening right now.
  9. I know EB can't have Victor not get the last word, but what a weird parting threat to Diane. "You know me and I'm capable of doing a lot more than sneaking in your hotel room"? Like what, is he gonna break into the house in LA, and wait on the coach in a tiger thong? Getting sick overall of the Newmans/Abbotts being the constant protagonists against evil outsiders like Sally and Diane who aren't nearly as malevolent as members of the above families. Was Mariah wearing a Gucci belt today? I think she was a bit too harsh, but was happy to see her and Kyle interact. As much as I especially like these two, seeing Kyle at all without Summer already makes him look a lot better imo.
  10. I have such low expectations for Phyllis that I didn't think she could surprise me anymore, and wow was that wrong. What a bizarre ass, disturbing tantrum from her today. In a way, as some of you already mentioned, I get why's doing it. She thinks (well, knows) she's got Jack locked up and it's a danger sign for her if Jack shows any empathy for Diane. But still, grow up. She's pretty much all the things she ranted about Diane being today, so she told on herself, and surprise! She's still a monstrously selfish and ignorant person. Whatever about the "Summer gonna get Diane" thing...please. Yeah, Summer's such an intimidating presence. Phyllis will fight her battles for her like always, but hopefully not bc I never want to see Summer again. With the exception of reversing himself once Phyll really got heated- and granted, that was a huge disappointment- I thought today was one of Jack's better ones. He seemed level headed and compassionate without being completely Aunt Jack. Creepy Victor waiting around in Diane's room. He probably spent the time thinking of all the phony boxing fantasies he has that he could pass off to the kid. Chance seems like he's doing better, but wait a sec, my guy. No negative vibez or you can't parent your own child. Gotta report to Daddy Devon, HE'LL decide whether you're worthy or not.
  11. Me too. It's kind of amazing to me the contrast of how likeable he is around her versus...most any other time. It's really lame how often Jack gets catty and domineering around other women for their mistakes, but then is all Captain Save a Ho for Phyllis. What strange standards he has... even besides Phyllis, the guy can't look at Diane without sneering, but can have drinks with Victor like old war buddies? This whole thing with Diane just seems weird on the optics so far. From what I've seen/read, most of what Diane did are like generic bad deeds, at least by GC standards. It's kind of hard to see her as the most disgusting person in town when, a) Victor/Phyllis/Ashland exist, and b) they haven't even shown her doing much scheming or anything as of yet. Still don't particularly care about them as a couple, but that was a great scene with Adam and Sally today. They made it fun the way they played off each other. Speaking of the exact opposite, do they even want to make Chelsea likeable? Back to mean mugging after Adam because her other option literally fucking died.
  12. Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the Adam/Sharon thing today. For me it comes off like Adam is entitled to a special relationship with Sharon- "you know, you and me, what we have is different"- and especially kind of icky given the problems he caused her in the marriage. That said I think some characters can get away with that kind of thing, but frankly MG is not charismatic enough to pull it off, whatever relationship he and SC have aside. Would have been way better with an actual family member IMO. Did Imani lose some weight since the last time we saw her? I think she looked better before. Maybe this is actually going to go somewhere with Chelz or whatever, but Rey's sudden heart attack seems in line with speed rushing the rest of the story. It still seems odd to me that JV got zero "victim, at the hospital" scenes or anything like that. I swear the same scene between Victoria and Ashland at her office has taken place for months now. But then, I've been FF'ing all of them so, I really can't say *for sure*
  13. IDK, the count of people showing up alive is making me unimpressed with Nikki's capability to finish something off (that isn't a martini, anyway). What, are we down to one actual murder at this point? This sounds weird but I almost want Sharon to go off on someone at this point. Might as well be Chelsea who volunteered herself today. What a nut. And I hope it comes out that Victoria WAS responsible for the accident. Sharon's actually looked good, apart from the whole grieving thing, the last few days. I think a lot of you guys disagree but imo her face looks way less filler-ish and relatively normal. Kyle still following Lola on Insta. Dude's got a lot of nerve even thinking of trying to reach out, especially now.
  14. Diane is fast becoming Sally-esque, in a "why would I hate this person over Phyllis" sort of way. I mean she must have done bad things back in the day that I didn't see, but what's on screen right NOW doesn't put her in a bad light compared to Phyllis one bit, especially with all the threats and physically pushing her around. Yeah, I don't think Rey would have wanted to buried away from GC. Sharon's big conclusion was basically a clever way of saying they don't want to pay for Eva LaRue and co.
  15. I was mostly interesting in them discussing the Disney thing, and wow was that a dud. The issue wasn't whether the Don't Say Gay bill was wrong, or whether companies should be politically neutral. Honestly there are arguments to made on either of those issues and I'm fine with it. The issue was whether it's ideal that the power of the fucking STATE should be used against private entities for opposing government legislation and activity. You can think Disney is filled with too many woke activists and/or should stay out of political debates and still have a totally different standard for whether the government can or should take that kind of step, independent of whatever Disney does. Like, take a side on that one. But they just went into logical fallacy/dogshit argument land. To Bill's credit, he's sharp enough sometimes to sense that and reel them back in, but missed the ball here. Good on him for the New Rule, though.
  16. It's pretty wild, with all the laughable acting SC has done for a while now (and not just in unimportant scenes), that she really can still bring it in these types of stories. You get the uncomfortable sense you're watching someone grieving or in a lot of stress, and those are scenes super easy to come off insincere or ridiculous. Did Noah put on, like, 20 pounds of muscle in the last few weeks? That's...a little sus. Good acting by him today, though. It was that understated reaction of someone grieving FOR someone else who just lost someone. I think like everyone else, I call bullshit on the Rey driving erratically thing. Whatever the guy's flaws were, the dude was legit in tense situations like that. Seriously, how is wild eyed melting ice queen Victoria not the clear culprit here? If Ashland has to stick around, they need to just run with the theme of befuddled guy who stumbles his way through random luck and happenstance, bc that's all I can see with this version of the character. Back to Diane's story next week. Which of course, by Diane, I mean Phyllis's.
  17. I do really get a kick out the absolute over the top rebranding Victor did. Given his self image (hell, EB too probably), we were probably THIS close to him naming himself Victor Sexyman.
  18. The only way this podcast story makes sense is if Billy is truly meant to represent self righteous man babies who have zero financial concerns, and aren't even truly depressed or otherwise unhealthy, who think their situation is so angsty. Dude, go volunteer or go back to school (kindergarten, ideally, where you belong) or something. Your life isn't that hard.
  19. Pretty much skipping Newman days and watching the Abbott ones lately. I don't know what it is, but I like the Diane storyline so far. Diane's basically written as the bad guy here but she has legit points that makes things a bit interesting. Of course the final outcome is probably Phyllis as the hero somehow- and even she doesn't even really bother me here- but one step at a time I guess. Lol, Sharon "too young" to remember the 70s. Not so sure about that. And now Noah's getting laid, so of course he's super chill about Tessa all of a sudden. Again a moot point very soon, but the Rey thing is so stupid. Whatever Sharon/Nick's flaws- and oh, wow, there are legion- no one there has made him feel unwelcome or a threat to his marriage as of yet, so he's a complete jerk about this.
  20. I barely watch this show anymore, but I've always really liked the actress who plays Harmony. She's lovely and I wind up usually sticking around and watching her scenes.
  21. What's especially odd is that Faith did particularly bond with Rey more than any of Sharon's other exes she's been around. He just met Noah and Mariah's an adult doing her own thing, so that's probably close to peak step dad success. Not like it's gonna matter now, anyway.
  22. I was surprised to find myself enjoying today's episode. It's pretty crazy how much a soap can do with just people talking in an interesting way. And MS not yelling. Diane is a kind of a troll, it's darkly entertaining. And Tracy....in her own way, she's pretty manipulative. Loved Ashley's "yeah, this is bullshit, but I hope you're right" expression to Tracy's wish upon a star theory. I do "miss" (if you can miss something you never saw) how roguish and assertive Jack seemed in the flashbacks. I don't know if he could or should play exactly that same way now, but I just get the sense PB could be playing a more vibrant character than what Jack's been for years.
  23. On the % support "poll", frankly I think a not insignificant number of people base their take on how popular they *think* it's going to be. And a lot of said people suddenly changed their mind when they saw how the negative reaction to Smith gained momentum in the following days.
  24. I recently starting watching again, and I'm glad I did. I don't agree with Bill on several of his pet issues, but in this day and age, I can really respect how he doesn't let his problems with the left "make him" turn into a conservative like certain other personalities. Going to the Vanity Fair party wasn't hypocritical at all, imo, since he said the point about the Oscars/Hollywood perception wasn't fair. I'm shocked at how well the two person panel works compared to the three.
  25. Jesus, this is ugly. Not sure why it is that certain leading men on the remaining soaps seem to have to prove their machismo with 50s style abusive storylines (and MW has had to work with both!), but it's gross.
