  1. Omg, shut up Nikki. The longer the status quo of this story keeps going on the more unbelievable it is. What about how Nikki or Phyllis is acting is supposed to endear them to,,,anyone? Just because Diane's sorry, it doesn't change the people she hurt? Has Nikki met her own precious husband, Grampire? Well, he's not even sorry for all the horrific things he's done, so I guess he doesn't apply. I don't get the now habitual Phyllis "I'm about to looooose it" rage cry moment, either. Considering it's MS, I can only assume it's some kind of attempt to make herself look either intimidating or sympathetic. Oh, wait, I'm sorry, she's definitely NOT the character, so it's some deep complexxx method acting tactic. Sure. I'd think that Faith and Noah are meant to represent two ends of the extremes of cliche soulless ambition and apathetic listlessness, except that these are the writers who came up with gems like a podcast story and Team Baby Crew (who wound up hating each other). So, yeah, that's probably not it.
  2. Nick probably understands it as a video game, where you can "lewt" everything from the guy you pwn.
  3. Wasn't sure the main thread was necessarily appropriate for this comment, but regarding the Phyllis/Diane/Jack story.... Sorry but can you imagine if the gender roles of Phyllis/Jack were reversed with the same basic events? Where a man sexually humiliated a woman, hounded the woman who requested to be left alone afterward, then demanded forgiveness and became threatening when it didn't happen? I think it would-rightly- be considered kind of disgusting, and as time as gone on that's how I'm finding this "story". As long as MS gets to feel she's the baddest bitch, I guess.
  4. So, Adam apparently still expects the Newmans to act like a halfway decent, normal family? Where family loyalty and support means you value...the actual members as human beings? Yeah, guy needs to internalize that all "Newman loyalty" equals is Victor. Kiss his ass and let him run your life and by all means, you're as lauded as having any sort of real success of your own. Take a look at their in-house Butthead, Nick, contributing to the conversation with surfer bro hand signals. My problem- lol, like it's only one- with the Abbott storyline is that we're supposed to believe Phyllis is in fact legitimately sorry? Because method actor MS is playing this like she doesn't care for Jack at ALL and that's she not in fact sorry, she's literally angry and wants revenge for not being lusted after. Uh, what? Sorry, that's the villain. Which I'm fine with and would LOVE to be wrong if it plays out that way, but not a chance in hell that's what the intent here is.
  5. And consider Ashland has zero chance of being allowed to succeed against the Newmans. So the story's going to unfold with either Victor playing out one his boxing fantasies, or brave fierce woman Victoria outwitting him. Followed by Phyllis flapping her wings at all the "haters" and showing Jack what a loser he is. Thanks Boes- I hate it!
  6. What an immature self pitying little shit Phyllis is. Holy crap. I'm sure they'll have her kidnapping or committing genocide soon enough to drive the point home, but if the worst that "evil" Diane is going to do is successfully outwit people into embarrassing themselves...they deserve what they get. Can't pinpoint when it happened, because IIR she was really shady there for a while, but I like Elena now! A lot.
  7. Lol. Victoria says "she will never leave her family". Imagine that family being the Newmans, and then being proud to say that. Yet another round of seeing the 40+ year old Newman kids + Nikki eagerly wait to be ordered around by a thin skinned octogenarian. This supposedly vaunted family is literally two generations old and the result of a certain Christian Miller wanting to have a hot/tough sounding last name 🤡 Never really cared enough before, but Team Adam/Sally all the way at this point. They were so noxious I was on Billy's side today, too. Wow, I did a double take from Chloe as a character and EH's acting today. Chelz's insanity is doing her an unwitting favor here, and I want her and Sally to be buds.
  8. I'm glad Jack didn't fall for the usual self-righteous crap from Phyllis. And FFS, no means no- he says multiple times he's not interested, so by all means start pouring the alcohol. That aside...what Jack said was true, but I wish he didn't even go that route. He told her at the start he didn't want to be hurt again, and she went ahead and did it, demanding immediate forgiveness no less. That's absolute "fuck off and don't talk to me again" territory, and that's all she needs to know.
  9. That opening interview was such a dud, the interviewee didn't offer much at all and was mostly Bill going off about his random sexcapades. However, I liked the panel a lot. I think Andrew explained his positions a lot better in person than on Twitter (surprise!). As obnoxiously as Bill makes the point sometimes, Democrats keep losing elections because swing voters find them extremists and grudgingly vote for the GOP. I don't agree with it or like it, but that's the reality. IDK, I'd rather they got the votes of some white working class guys who didn't have the most sophisticated views on race/LGBT, but abortion for rapist zygotes were still legal.
  10. I do, too. The guy is a joke, but this is probably the one thing that would actually give this dopey version of the character some momentum, and really put the Newmans on the harsh receiving end of a con. So, we know for sure it'll never happen.
  11. The announcement of permanent world peace could be ruined with a pan out shot showing Phyllis in a vamp rag listening in, trying desperately to hit runway modeling poses. Wear a fucking sweater if you want to be innocuous...or actually, take your faux baddie rage crying and disappear, forever! That'll do it. If I could believe she were actually the villain in this story- which she is- that'd be one thing, but we know that's not happening. It's crazy, I've quickly gone from being able to tolerate this character- and even hope she might return to some semblance of normalcy- to be being absolutely done. Wondering like I'm Victor, here....does Michael actually care about Diane, or is he just really into his newfound fixer assignment? Hoping it's the former, but just have my doubts (fears) about where this is going. Summer, a clue, please. Jack doesn't want to tell you because it was something humiliating, which given your mother it shouldn't be too hard to basically figure out.
  12. The "brilliant" Victor couldn't understand Michael was actually paying him a compliment with the point he made. Ashland: Sleazy, Bad! Me, Victor: Hot, Tough, and Good! is all he wants to hear. Maybe things were different back in the day, but I swear he comes off more like a boorish grunt that fell into riches rather than this cagey businessman he's supposed. I would agree, too, that whatever else else.... Sally is definitely qualified for this.
  13. The Abbotts needed more members, since Nick is required to win every paternity test in town, so I'm happy that Allie can at least count as one. Hell, throw Diane and the Harrison Ford kid in there too. I've always believed it based off the feedback I got here, but after those flashbacks I see how John Abbott was this larger than life character. He seemed-and looked!- like a stronger, more stalwart version of Jack. Really wish we could see him in his prime (or even a past it current Victor equivalent) on today's show.
  14. This story makes Nate look like an absolute dolt. You're not in charge, and your idea (right or wrong) didn't go over with the people who actually are. So, sure, that means go completely rogue in your speech and blindside everyone. And, he's making me defend DEVON here...gross. Speaking of, did Chance get Daddy Devon's permission before coming to/leaving the party? I've always liked Nikki, even somehow as a Victor sycophant so I probably always will, but she's been awful lately. Jill looks FANTASTIC. She always does, but I feel like it's in part an attitude thing with her. She looked so vibrant and charming today. Diane too, and I think her style might be the best on the show (low bar, but still). Those dark colors totally fit her, imo. Unpopular opinion here....Billy and Lily have a surprisingly healthy relationship. He mostly listens to her when she has an issue with one of his antics (I think she's usually right), and when she decides to forgive him, she moves on and doesn't hold a passive aggressive grudge over it.
  15. At the risk of this being more appropriate for off topic, I'm sick of certain dreary, soul sucking RL topics constantly being in your face even if you want to avoid it. Trashy Y&R and everything about it is a small but welcome diversion.
  16. I think Maher DID do a good job at parrying Conway's dogshit arguments. When she was on most mainstream talk shows she steamrolled people who didn't know how to handle that kind of sophistry. But it takes up time on a limited show, so she's already "won" by obfuscating the issue to begin with. You could tell there was more that Bill wanted to discuss but had to spend that time shutting down Conway. Barro was fine. I'm a fan of his, but he's just not going to get to talk much in this format with that kind of guest.
  17. I don't think they ultimately care what Abby thinks, and deep down she probably doesn't much either. She's an associate Newman and always will be, and she's likely better off for it. Felt like Noah and Allie were super forced and awkward at the beginning, but I liked them a lot today. Adam and his background reactions were great. I love the contrast of him almost giggling with how well this was working out vs everybody else's maudlin theatrics. When I see Victor is getting ready to start yelling, I actually get excited because of how hilarious it's going to be. Not sure if that's the reaction they're looking for, but I legit give EB credit for having the energy to even WANT these egomaniacal performances.
  18. I don't know and don't particular what Victoria's real plan is, but only with the Newmans would rally around preventing a 45 year old woman from leaving town with her boyfriend. And Nick always has an excuse about how he's such a free soul but the family's somehow right on THIS one. Jack is much more compelling when he's not in "looking for love" mode. Especially since he's had chances in the past few years (Nikki, Sally, etc.) where HE was the one who broke it off for pointless reasons. Read some Insta memes... it'll happen when you stop worrying about it, bro.
  19. I legitimately can't tell where this story is supposed to go because I haven't read spoilers, and cannot tell when the character of Phyllis is supposed to be acting a certain way and when MS is just doing acting tics that actually don't say anything. I don't even mean that as a slight against MS this time, but it's been a reality for a while now. She's not at all untalented and as I've said before, I think she even has a charisma about her that a lot of other actors don't. But when the portrayal of the character is off the walls for months on end (being generous here), you can't really be surprised when fans don't "get" that suddenly the character is supposed to be having a breakdown. And I STILL don't even think we know that.
  20. Murray was less shrieky and partisan than I expected, so that was good. Still, I think he comes from a place that he can't ever see the main threat against his idea of civilization as not coming from "the left". There are criticisms to be made there. But the right- actual, powerful political figures on the right- are increasingly opposed of the type of civilization he claims to cherish. The comparison between 2016 ('people didn't trust the election") and 2020 ("people also didn't trust the election") was ridiculous, though. Again, there are many, MANY, things to criticize about the left, but in 2016 people complained about the election. "Not my president", etc. In 2020, right wingers tried to violently overthrow a democracy and got rewarded for it by right wing politicians.
  21. Might be MS just doing her thing, but was Phyllis meant to come across as completely evil? The last bit with Summer was the only indication she has any sort of conscience about what she's doing. Diane so far is doing real damage with the whole passive aggressive thing. If she's going to legitimately be a villain, then I hope she stays this effective and threatening, because SW is really good at playing the character this way. Lol, Imani. She's so horny that she's absolutely useless as an employee. I feel like we've all known (or, possibly, have been) someone like this in the workplace.
  22. I could be wrong, but it's so hard for me to believe the actual writers wrote in things like Phyllis jiggling her boobs and- while yelling- tracing a medal icon over her chest. Embarrassed for Susan Walters having to stand in for that and manage her lines, but she was a pro.
  23. So, a Milan fashion house is going to move operations to...Wisconsin? That will do wonders for the brand, really. How the Abbotts- never mind supposedly brilliant, scheming Phyllis- didn't see Diane's plan a mile away I don't get. They're giving her exactly what she wants by playing hardball with Kyle and making her seem like the victim. Since pretty much everyone else involved are assholes, I've been pretty sympathetic to Diane thus far. The scene with her referencing Harrison at the end was super creepy, though. I wouldn't mind her going full heel except that it'll have Phyllis and Victor in the right yet again. Speaking of, are they overstating the rivalry Phyllis and Diane used to have? Because I never really heard much reference of Diane as Phyllis's great enemy or anything like that, but she's seriously shook right now.
  24. Bill was right on a lot this week, but my God his weird Elon ass kissing. Dude is not a genius, lmao. He doesn't go in and fucking design the spaceships FFS. He IS good at getting his online edgelord lackeys to make him even richer....that's legitimately clever as a businessman. But it's not what Bill is saying he does.
  25. Harebrained Jabot scheme aside, NuSummer won me over today. She has a kindness about her that they were clearly trying to push with HK's Summer, but I could never buy it. The Noah/Allie scene was just awkward as hell at first, but Noah recovered a bit IMO. Still, how weird with her sitting there with her coffee while he browses on his iPad with...the shop closed. The bar was pretty low already, but Diane makes this show a lot more fun.
