  1. I'm also happy that Yanu finally got a flint. Did they ever try, during those 11 flintless days, to start a fire without a flint?
  2. I'm sure I probably missed this. Did Lulu ever try to make fire or are they just content to moan about not having it?
  3. At the end of the water challenge, when Yam Yam was floating absolutely still, I was worried that he had actually lost consciousness. Right at that moment, Danny jumped into the water. I think his fireman instinct kicked in and he may have thought the same thing.
  4. There's no such thing as "low tea". It's "afternoon tea" as Mayim said, but "low tea" was wrong.
  5. I thought that Jake might be autistic. I was sorry that Troy lost. Glad he made it to 5 though!
  6. That would make more sense. Thanks.
  7. It's unlikely they will drive, or be driven, from Jordan to France so starting 45 minutes after the first teams may just mean that the last ream will arrive at the Amazing Charter Plane 45 minutes after the first teams.
  8. The theatre/theater in San Diego where the Queen unveiled a statue of William Shakespeare was named after the Globe in London, but is called The Old Globe.
  9. Cliff May is very well known in Southern California. He grew up in San Diego. May was the originator of the California ranch-style house. http://friendsofsdarch.com/cliff-may-1908-1989/ http://ranchostyle.com/cliffnotes.html
  10. In Scotland, it's known as the Stone of Destiny. I wonder if Alex would have accepted that?
  11. It wasn't shown here tonight, not even later, because of the Stanley Cup finals. That was ok, LGB!! When James was still on, they showed Jeopardy at 9:30pm when hockey was on. Glad, but not surprised, to see Emma is gone.
  12. Back in Roman times, when I studied Latin in high school, we learned: In March, July, October, May The Nones are on the seventh day. If the Nones are on the seventh day, the Ides are on the fifteenth.
  13. I watched it. I didn't like it, but I much prefer Tarek. I'll give it one more chance, maybe, then I'm done.
  14. It ended here 12 minutes ago and my heart is still pounding!
  15. I live in So Cal and we call them Super Scoopers. They are on loan each year from Canada. https://ktla.com/2018/09/05/super-scoopers-arrive-in-los-angeles-county-for-use-in-socal/
  16. I don't usually post on this thread, but wow! I am amazed by James. I'm really enjoying watching him. Why did the woman, whose name I've already forgotten, refuse to shake his hand? Rather rude.
  17. The woman had it right. The officer told her, incorrectly, that she had to apply for asylum from outside the US. That is not what the law says. Any immigrant can apply for asylum, regardless of their immigration status upon arrival in the US. In fact, they have a year to do it.
  18. I don't keep track of previous seasons and so many of you are really impressive with your encyclopedic knowledge! Didn't they get more days to get the restaurants set up in the past? Or am I imagining that, which is quite possible!
  19. I loved this! I didn't know it was a true story until the end. Here's the true story (you're right, not really at Christmas): https://heavy.com/entertainment/2018/12/once-upon-a-christmas-miracle-true-story-meet-heather-krueger-chris-dempsey/
  20. None of the things that Les Moonves has, so far, been accused of doing happened during his marriage to Julie Chen, or even during the time she has known him. Why would she not stand by him? I have read that Les will be a consultant to CBS and will have an office in New York and LA. Has that changed? CBS has been very successful under his leadership. I'm sure the board doesn't want their lead to disappear. I still question the timing of decades-old revelations and Shari Redstone's desire to merge CBS and Viacom. She got rid of the person who stood between her accomplishing that and failing to do so. It's just too coincidental, IMO.
  21. Ronan Farrow's articles have all been in the New Yorker. I have not seen any accusations of rape.
  22. It's amazing how quickly some people drag Julie into her husband's stuff even though none of these alleged misdeeds occurred while she has been married to him and most of them took place before he was even at CBS. I also wonder if there's a woman's sob story that Ronan Farrow won't believe. How impartial is he, really? It may be that all of these tales are 100% true, it may be that some women have decided, thirty years after the fact, that they made a bad decision back then and now they can make themselves feel better about it. I'm sure it's probably somewhere in the middle, as are most things.
