  1. She was in ads before Rob Lowe as the pornolicious DirectV Genie in the white lace "dress" at the end of this ad. I'm trying to decide if her lips are less puffy now.
  2. Eh. "Devour food that's good for you the way you devour food that's not good for you." I get their point, though.
  3. We were talking about women, I thought. I apologize for my transgression and will bow out of this one.
  4. Totally not trying to hair-shame you here, but I've never known anyone who had hair on the top of their feet. A bit on the toes, yes, but mostly just the big toe and maybe a teeny bit on the next one.
  5. I think I've found it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNyOdNLq1Bc
  6. At least there's something good about it. Neuropathy sucks. There's a guy on the short order grill at work and that man is a true artist. Always in motion, remembering like 7 orders simultaneously. Everybody likes that guy. Sure hope he's getting a living wage...
  7. Oh, that's hilarious, harrie! I hadn't thought of that one. I did get a lot of people at TWoP who assumed I was a fan of Riley, but I thought he was a pretty dull lump, myself.
  8. Poor baby! I'm so glad she finally feels safe and happy. Can you post a picture of her for us? Harrie - LOVED Buffy. (hated Riley)
  9. I saw those two ads back to back the other day, which made me laugh and laugh visualizing little Miss Poster Child for Paying on Time attached to someone else's windshield like a remora.
  10. How at least one of my patients sees me. It was a collaboration; I helped her with some of the drawing and she colored me in and decided I should be carrying balloons and have one of my cats at work (LOL). I added the stethoscope to my left hand, before everyone asks what that is. :D This one's definitely going up on the fridge.
  11. :( How long do you have to be critter-less? I wouldn't be able to stand that. My brother lives in a rural area and he has several cats that were "gifts of the cornfield" across from their house. Very well-behaved and ecstatic to be inside, even.
  12. At the end of that commercial, you see the person on the glass scale jump up, and all I'm thinking is that she's going to break the glass when she comes back down. Bugs me that they never show her coming back down.
  13. Is it congenital that he's missing his premolars? I know that happens in people sometimes. Don't you wish you had a hidden camera to catch the look on his face? I work in a hospital and once confounded my dentist when, after removing the needle to numb my jaw, I demanded, "What gauge was that thing? Felt like a 16 gauge!" He stammered and hurried to show me it was actually much thinner than that. He'd accidentally nicked a nerve. He was so flustered and said he'd never been asked that before. Still makes me giggle.
  14. I DO like Chobani, but that's a stupid ad. I especially adore their new stir-ins, esp. the key lime with graham cracker crumbles and tiny white chocolate chips. Holy crap, that stuff is good!
  15. According to Wikipedia, "Part of Mentos's popularity in the US can be attributed to its campy TV commercials and catchy jingle, which debuted in late 1991 on American television. Shot in South Africa, individuals facing various day-to-day dilemmas consume Mentos and are subsequently inspired to solve their problems at hand in a creative, often-humorous fashion. These unusual behaviors are typically witnessed by nearby, sometimes antagonistic characters, and a roll of Mentos is boisterously displayed by the commercial's respective protagonist to the observer as an explanation for their actions."
  16. They do still get freebie drug samples to give to their patients, and I think that's a good thing. Keeps you from having to pay for a prescription that may not work for you. My doc gave me samples of a drug, and I really liked it. But when I actually got the script, my insurance balked, and made me try and fail 3 other, similar drugs that were cheaper for them before they'd OK the drug I already knew would work. My doc rolled his eyes and said "You gotta jump through their hoops." It was a godsend that he could keep me supplied with samples while we documented that nothing else worked as well. Also, while going through a chemo clinical drug trial 5 years ago, I was nearly dropped from the trial because my insurance wouldn't pay for anything in pill form. The clinic kept me supplied with samples of the one chemo drug that was in pill form. They also helped me apply to the pharmaceutical company for 1 bottle of the drug ($3,000!). When I had trouble with nausea, there was a great drug for that, but it's only prescribed in pill form for home use. So they would have me come in two days after each infusion for nausea and dehydration. They'd run a bag of fluid with the drug in IV form, and the insurance company didn't bat an eye before covering this more expensive alternative simply because the drug was given IV. That made zero sense to me.
  17. She didn't bedazzle that sweatshirt - her older sister did.
  18. Thanks, kaity and harrie! I've only been watching the kitties here: http://www.apl.tv/kittens.htm
  19. I've been working with my cats to get them used to a harness and leash. We've gone from the drama queen flop "I can't even stand up with this thing on me!" to patiently letting me put it on them if they meow at the door. We haven't gotten past the apartment hallway yet, as they vacillate between wanting to explore and freaking out at the slightest noise and running back to my door, but they really do seem to like it. And they love to scratch the tough all-weather carpeting in the hall without being scolded. They've tentatively started exploring the stairs to the upstairs apartments and love to investigate all the different smells coming from the other apartments, but I'm just waiting for the day someone opens their door as my cats are sniffing around! LOL Here are two shops on Etsy that will make harnesses based on your cat's measurements in just about any fabric or design. https://www.etsy.com/shop/LandOBurnsBengals https://www.etsy.com/shop/MynwoodCatJackets
  20. I think the advice is against letting your kitty out unsupervised, because they might get into fights with an FIV+ cat. Other than being infected from birth, it's passed through bites and scratches. I've heard of many people with both an FIV+ cat and an FIV- cat indoors, without the other cat getting infected, as their cats don't fight to the point of drawing blood. And being FIV+ isn't an automatic death sentence, as these cats can live a normal life with regular vet checkups. ETA: There are vaccines against FIV, but it doesn't protect 100%. Also, once vaccinated, there is no way to tell the difference between an infected cat and one that's been vaccinated, as the test looks for antibodies against FIV.
