I was kinda meh on Esurance's "Sorta you" series of ads, but I flove "Sorta Marge", as it mercilessly skewers every beauty queen who has ever biffed the thoughtful/controversial Q&A portion of a pageant. I also love that, as she gazes out over an imaginary audience, the boss looks behind him, as if he's thinking "Who the hell are you talking to, lady?"

In other news, I would so eat a crownie. In fact, I might try to make some. Don't tell artsy-fartsy Tony Romo.

That's funny. When I moved to my current apartment, I dubbed my then unseen upstairs neighbor "Thunder Lizard" because I figured it had to be some monstrously big person to hear EVERY step they took across the floor, especially since I don't hear much else from them. In fact, they scared the shit out of me that first night when I was awakened at 3 am by what sounded like someone coming down MY hall to MY bedroom. Nope, just TL coming in late. I've since met her, and she's a very nice, very normal-sized person. We just have a very shitty floor/ceiling separating us.

OK, one last thing. It's off topic, but... I remember reading a short sci-fi/fantasy story. It's about a bunch of teenagers discussing this upcoming coming-of-age rite of passage they will soon be participating in. You get the idea it's a less advanced group, maybe in the distant past. Part of the rite involves getting up their courage to come face-to-face with the gods. Some will survive, while the gods will strike others down for reasons that are vague to them. At the end of the story, it is revealed that they are rabbits running across the road in front of a car at night. I really wish I could remember where I read that story and find it again. It kinda reminded me of Watership Down.

They have very good night vision, but headlights leave them temporarily blind. So part of it is being blinded by oncoming lights and not knowing which way to go. Frightened and confused, they may dart the wrong way trying to get away. Maybe they think that nice, wide path (the road) is a better bet than crashing through the brush. Part of it is not knowing what a car is, much less what to do when one comes barrelling towards them at what is to them an insanely high rate of speed. They're just animals and sometimes get it wrong.

I think maybe she's pissed that her rates went up after the accident? Other than that, I got nothing.

I always yell, "Because it's the law, bitch!" It protects me from the likes of that Little Miss "tapped a bumper" moron.

Aww, haven't seen that commercial in a while. But seriously, I fear those Liberty Mutual ads are aimed at a large segment of an entitled generation growing up thinking the rules don't apply to them. Grr. "Don't they know you're already shaken up?" They are not your mother and therefore don't give a rat's ass about your special snowflake feelings! "I just tapped their bumper - no big deal." just makes my blood boil. It's not up to you to decide how big of a deal it is! Thanks for restarting this, Brattinella - this has been cathartic.

I've never been in anaphylaxis either, but my Mom used to have migraines and several times screwed up injecting herself with the Imitrex and ended up spraying it all over herself instead of injecting herself. But I don't think a talking injector would have helped here, either - lack of coordination due to extreme pain might just get worse with the damned thing trying to talk to you.

My SIL works at a preschool and finds themed coloring books with intricate patterns (hearts, easter eggs, butterflies, jack o'lanterns, Christmas ornaments) and colors one for each of her kids (less than a dozen) They really like having one made just for them and she finds it very soothing to color in the evening.
