I vote for AdblockPlus, also. It's such a wonderful thing. -

Had to google that. Powdered peanut butter? Huh. -
I'm dying here, laughing. I was going to point out how bug-eyed the pilot got when he saw the cat, but you described it much better than I could have done.

Wow, didn't know that. I'm not really a beer drinker, but when I do, it's usually the über-trendy Blue Moon. So I'm good! -
Thanks. Now I've got it. ;)

Barry's line "Every now and then, I get a little bit tired of living off the taste of the air." always cracks me up.

Is it this one? Not sure who the narrator is. http://www.ispot.tv/ad/7_VV/samuel-adams-independence -

Lucy was originally Linda, for Pete's sake! Who names a cat Linda? Besides, my sister's name is Linda. -

Whomever adopts her will more than likely change her name. I haven't kept the names my rescues came with. -

Not as great as they used to be. They're not only not as sweet, but the consistency of the flakes is off, somehow. I used to love them and now can't make myself eat them. -
I think there were 3 or 4 versions of that, SSM.

I have to admit, this made me laugh.

Can't stand the Trip Advisor commercial with the dog saying "Book!" He sounds weirdly mechanical, like there's a keyboard clicking in the middle of his "Book!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W05OcS5Z-8 -
It's a bit off-topic, but was too good not to share. Run! It's a fire-breathing... Dachshund?

That reminds me I need to stock up on the Lime Flips with graham cracker crumbles and tiny white chocolate chips. SOOO Good! And if those biddies boycott it, that's more for me! :) As for "million moms", pfftt. Someone needs to do an exposé on how many people are actually in that group. I highly doubt it's over 5 figures, much less 7.

Saw a Rally's ad (also called Checkers in some parts of the country) with their spokesbag, Mr. Bag. All I can think when I see it is that the checkers design on the bag make it look like he has a heavy 5 o'clock shadow.

Hmm, pretty sure Ancestry.com doesn't know the dirt on my g-g-grandpa, "lovingly" handed down by his disapproving daughter-in-law, Grandma Carrie. She described him as a "shyster lawyer" who gambled on the ponies and ran around with Frank James, brother of Jesse. And that "Grandpa Wooden-leg" had lost his leg in a pony race in his 30s, "when he was old enough to know better than to indulge in such foolishness." She really didn't like him and since she outlived both husband and FIL, she got to determine what was remembered. -

"Time to Mow the Lawn" Complete with unPC racial stereotypes. "Some bushes are really big." (black lady), "Some bushes are really small." (Asian lady, complete with shy tee-hee) -
Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads
riley702 replied to Lola16's topic in Commercials
Eh, referring to something as "your baby" is a fairly common turn of phrase. It's the whole reason someone dreamed up the ad where a guy's car is literally his baby. A big, big baby. I think it's cute. It's just another way of saying this is something that you're spending a lot of time and attention on right now. -
Congrats!

I think it's hilarious, because cats hate PDAs. So, Embarrass Your Cat Day. And yes, I did, and they squirmed to get loose. :P

When Blue first came out, I got various flavors (sample-size) for the kitties to try. The only one they'd touch was the rabbit, of all flavors. So they eat rabbit dry food and Fancy Feast wet (salmon or tuna shredded, primavera, or tuscany) -
One of my cats will drool when very happy and relaxed while being petted. As for a one-person cat, my brother (same one as above) found a half-starved kitten while out jogging and brought her home. Penny was HIS cat and she merely tolerated anyone else in the home. When he'd get up, she'd twine happily around his feet and chirp while his coffee brewed, and when he took his cup and sat down, she was in his lap immediately. Penny was the first cat that was HIS and did a lot to make him like and want cats. He was pretty much only a dog person before that.

My brother and his wife crate-trained Daisy, their Golden when she was a puppy. As she grew and concerns about her destroying the place while they were gone abated, they started leaving the door open. She likes it and will sleep there and takes naps in it. Their cats have started joining Daisy in the crate to sleep - since their two cats are orange, it's sometimes difficult to make out who's who in the cuddle puddle. :D ETA: The cats, Jake and Toby were dumped in the cornfield ( a year apart) near their house. Jake was even neutered, but not micro-chipped. They put up notices, but no one claimed them. They were kind of relieved, since these are two fabulous cats. They're both micro-chipped now.
