You're more likely to find piss or puke on your pillow if they're really ticked off. Mine have given me pitiful mews like they were wee kittens: "Is that... is that you? It's been so long, I despaired of ever hearing that voice again... You left me here all alone, it seems like decades ago!" And that was with someone visiting daily.

Ugh is right. Sounds like she only wants to see you on her terms. -

Maybe you guys should drop a postcard to the managers of those stores telling them how much you enjoy so-and-so, and that you patronize them in part due to those employees? It would be nice for them to get recognized for their hard work and great attitude. I wish I could give this more than one thumb up. Brava! -
I've seen that on several YouTube "life hacks" videos.

Argh! The last time I brought some of those damned things home, it took me months to completely eradicate them. I finally had to tape plastic wrap over all the drains every time they weren't being used. -
Salt and vinegar cleans copper - or you can combine those and just use ketchup. I have a silicone pot holder that doubles as a jar opener. Need to apply lotion or medication to your back? You can use the back of one of those back brushes for the shower. If you don't have one of those, fold a kleenex and tape it to the end of a yardstick. I've used duct tape looped sticky side out on the end of a broom to peel a spider off the ceiling. Fold the tape around the spider and pitch. A can of Lysol aerosol spray and a lighter makes a handy little flamethrower for... well, whatever you need a handy little flamethrower for. ;) Need to dewrinkle already dry clothes? Either wet a wash cloth or get a handful of ice cubes and toss them in, to create enough steam to loosen up those wrinkles.

This is similar to my issue with drive-throughs: when the kid takes your money, makes you wait while they get change, and then tries to shove change, drink and bag at you all at once. I've told several to let me put my change away before I accept anything else and usually get rolled eyes in response. If they'd just hand me my fucking drink while they're making change, I could have that safely stowed by the time they have my change ready. Also, I'm sure the kids at the DQ think I'm a raging bitch when they hand me an ice cream cone and then expect me to also be able to handle my change one-handed. I've refused to take the cone and told them I need the change first so I'll have my hands free for the cone. Have you not noticed I'm alone in the car and they don't come equipped with cone holders? But wouldn't it be great if they did? I don't like to shower every day because I will itch like mad if I do. I have very short hair, so I can wash that in the sink in between showers. I am also blessed with very little body odor, so this arrangement works unless I get sweaty and then I'll just shower and itch. I've tried different soaps and lotions, but I just itch. I did luck out in the body hair department - never very much and what was there was fine, soft and light in color. The older I've gotten, the less I have (got that from my Mom). I seriously haven't shaved legs or pits in 5+ years because there is no hair there any more. BUT - I still get to pluck the dozen or so chin hairs that popped up in my 40s. *grumble* -

I get positively giddy in "tornado weather" when there is a watch or warning. As a kid, I'd be out in the yard twirling and giggling as the wind kicked up. Is there something opposite about tornadoes and ions, or am I the exception that proves the rule? -
I'm so sorry, Petunia. I'm pretty lucky; with the interpersonal relationships among my siblings, I have one that's well-intentioned but clueless, one that's trying really hard, and one that's just a selfish asshole. Small potatoes, really. And I don't really want to know how they'd describe me. Politics is the least of what we disagree about - it's more a world view (which probably drives our political views).

Yeah, smirking is guaranteed to set anyone off. And, "I don't care."? She needs to be reported to corporate, IMNSHO. I mean, I totally get thinking that her lack of planning is not your emergency, but you don't outright say that and smirk. Not in customer service. That is not how to retain customers. -
I thought it was "Home is the place that when you go there, they have to take you in." LOL. I'm having some transition pains of my own, having moved in with my brother and his wife. They are uber-organized, and I've always been a bit of a slob. And when I worked this weekend, I'd come home to find shit crammed in everywhere, and not where I would have put it. When I querously said I couldn't find anything, I got a sharp reminder that I should be more grateful at all the work she was doing and not be cranky. *sigh* We did then have a good convo about how I have never lived with anyone my whole adult life (I'm 56) and I'm sick (sleeping more, being more forgetful) and this is hard for me, too. We both got teary and promised to try to not be cranky with each other, but to apologize when we inevitably do. We are going to have a communication notepad where I can ask if I forget where things are, and going forward, she can make notes about stuff she's moved, so I don't have to rely on my spotty memory.

Maybe you can look at it as another new land, instead of putting the burden of "home" on it?

We had a long-time child patient die last year. She'd had liver issues, a failed transplant. She was frequently in room 42 on the transplant unit. A few weeks after she died, another child was in the room. His parents woke up to see a girl (description dead-on) sitting in the chair beside their child's bed. The dad started to ask her what she was doing, and the girl got up and went into the bathroom. He followed her, flipping on the light and the bathroom was empty. At that point he flipped out, called the nurse in, and in the ensuing discussion, his son pipes up that he saw the girl sitting in the chair looking mad (she was frequently cranky with all of us). They got a new room ASAP and one of the nurses went into the room after everything had calmed down and even though she saw nothing, had a discussion with her anyway. She told the girl that she couldn't stay because she was scaring other patients and that she needed to look for a bright light and head that direction. And... no further sightings. I once had a young patient I was doing oxygen checks on back when I worked nights. She woke up as I was in the room and I explained I was just checking things and she seemed fine with that explanation. Casually, she asked me who the "shiny lady" was who would sit on her bed at night. Every hair on my body went up as I looked around, but I saw nothing. I asked her if she was there now and she said no like I was the silliest thing ever. So I just told her it was her guardian angel. She said OK and laid back down like it was nothing.
