  1. LOL. My Dad used to say that margarine wasn't really food because it never went bad. It's probably mostly oil and water. I just like the taste of butter.
  2. I put a pat of cold butter on a piece of bread and twist the hot ear of corn thru it. Melts the butter onto the corn and leaves you with a warm piece of buttered bread to eat.
  3. This is how I see it, too, as it perfectly describes my older sister and I. We're very different people with very different values and priorities, but we're family. Period. I'd trust her with my life. She was. She was trying to only burn one ship, to make her point, before capturing the others for her own use. They are aunt and nephew. Daenerys' brother was his father. He's actually a cousin to the Stark children, as Ned's sister was his mother.
  4. Lucy is so quiet, until she gets her dander up about my brother and SIL's cats. Then I call her Lucyfer.
  5. Jaime didn't drink anything. He watched Olenna drink and then stomped out upon hearing she killed Joffrey. We've already seen it, from her emotion upon hearing that Winterfell is back in Stark hands, to her emotion upon seeing Winterfell again, to her realization that it's not exactly home any more because everything has changed, to her hugging Sansa and Bran. This. Davos is the one I'm pulling for the most to survive. She controlled all 3 when she defeated the slaver masters in Meereen. But the original TER said, when Bran asked if he would ever walk again, "No, but you will fly." So Tyrion needs to get cracking on a dragon saddle for Bran.
  6. Ha ha! No, cats don't understand phones. Lucy thinks I must be talking to her and she chats right back.
  7. Yes, I had an adrenaline crash headache yesterday, which I slept off.
  8. I've had a bad weekend. :( Came home from work Saturday evening and Swiffer didn't come out to greet me and wouldn't eat when I gave them their nightly canned food. Found a puddle of puke that was entirely saliva/mucus. About 11:00 pm, Swiffer suddenly started hissing, growling and moaning in pain. Immediate flashback to when ShuShu (RIP) had a stroke. She growled when I tried to feel her belly and continued to moan and tried to hide under the bed. Her eyes were hugely dilated, which is a sign of pain. I loaded her up and drove her to the emergency animal hospital near the airport with her moaning and crying the whole time. Official diagnosis was gastritis. The vet said that with dogs, it's pretty much them eating something that didn't agree with them, but for cats, the causes are not as clear. We got blood work to rule out problems with liver, kidneys, and pancreas; and x-rays to rule out a bowel blockage or foreign body. Everything checked out, so she got a shot to stop the cramping and nausea (she was constantly licking her lips and the vet said that's a classic sign of nausea.). We stopped there, as we were closing in on my limit of $500 on the credit card. She was feeling better by the time I checked out at 3:00 am and slept all the way home even though she normally hates being in a car. I called in to work since I cannot function on 2-3 hours of sleep. She seemed a bit subdued yesterday and I tried to get her to eat bland stuff like yogurt, cottage cheese, and canned food with rice in it. She had a few mouthfuls and has used the litter box. She slept on top of the bed last night, curled up behind my leg, so I took that as a good sign. Her appetite still isn't back to normal, but she is eating. She is taking it easy on the cat tree looking out the window (it's cool enough that the windows are open), so I think she's on the mend now, but she scared the crap out of me.
  9. My brother and SIL have an orange cat named Pip, and boy is she a character! And ornery - she'll flop in front of you as though asking for a belly rub, but if you reach down, she'll grab you with her paws and bite you. And if you just walk away, she'll jump up and nip at the back of your leg. We think she thinks the bites are affectionate, but she bites a little hard for love bites.
  10. That was at Astapor. The speech starts at about the 5 minute mark:
  11. Your point wasn't lost. Both are equally correct. Just pick one and be consistent.
  12. I'll concede the Harrises' bit, but with the "a" vs "an" thing, I was referring to the part of the sentence where I wrote that I was AN s' person rather than A s' person. Using AN vs A before nouns vs consonants, except when consonants like S sound like they begin with a vowel, so it's proper to use AN.
  13. It's a mole, aka a beauty mark. I like that she doesn't use makeup to either hide it or make it stand out ostentatiously, like some do.
  14. Yes. I'm an s' person myself, and would probably write it "all the Harris' possessions". *I had to google whether or not it was correct to use an before s' instead of a. It's apparently the sound and not the spelling. Whew!
  15. Eh, it's just more blather from the braggart. He needs to believe he's the best mind in the kingdom, because that's how he's going to end up on the throne (he thinks). He's also desperately trying to appear relevant and valuable to Sansa. So, blah, blah, blahcakes.
  16. She was already queen as Robert's wife. I didn't think anything in that prophecy even hinted she'd be queen in her own right, much less that it would happen after all her children were dead.
  17. Sure looks like someone riding that dragon at the end of that clip.
  18. I call it their "Mommy, Mommy, a bug!" dance. Or my bug alarm.
  19. Yes, they are indeed. Cocoa Krispies... spits.
  20. Last night, I dreamed I was at work, only it was a gazillion times bigger, with deserted workstations and desks, etc. For whatever reason, I had to make rounds through this whole enormous, but largely deserted building, and I was finding coins everywhere. I literally swiped a bag to carry them all in. And no one noticed, even when I did go through areas that were staffed. I was just wandering through and picking up coins. I have no idea what that means.
  21. Hanahope, does this boss know what you negotiated for? Because that is what your job is. Not what he thinks it should be.
