  1. Well obviously it's Dr. Rollins because he wants to isolate Alison so he can manipulate her into marrying him because he's writing a groundbreaking case study ;) That Sara Harvey entrance was hilarious. Suddenly I was watching a daytime soap opera...She's no Jenna Marshall, that's for sure. Wtf did they do to her? Pretty sure Emily is taking anti-depressants or something. But should she be mixing that with alcohol? At least she didn't end up at a grave this time. The setup of the episode was pretty much what I expected. They gave most of it away beforehand and there were the usual callbacks to the pilot. And as annoyed as I get with this show it's like Spencer said: I missed and love those beautiful faces.
  2. Me too. Really hope they learned their lesson. The first 2 seasons were pretty solid when they knew endgame was Mona for that arc so I hope it'll be similar this time because they have a clear end date for this mystery. Hope the relevant recurring actors are locked in and they don't have to deviate too much with irrelevant characters.I also hope - especially now that the girls are adults - that they are far more proactive and smart about solving the mystery. They deserve a few wins rather than A giving up because it's the season finale. Thirdly, they used to be so good with the casting. I don't know what happened there but their new characters Sucked. Hopefully these new guys Rollins, Liam and whatever that other guy's name is are charismatic and good actors because we need some new Noel, Ian, Caleb type people rather than Lorenzo/Sara/Johnny/Shana/... trash.
  3. I think they've kept somewhat in touch (the comment about Hanna's engagement ring) but just not gotten together as a group...or at least not in Rosewood. Well, Hanna apparently spent some time in Europe, Emily is keeping secrets and Spencer and Aria are thriving professionaly so I can buy that their schedules haven't allowed them to meet up regularly considering they're spread all over the country. I'm excited for the show to come back, but apprehensive too. Seems like a lot of big stuff has already been spoiled which makes it less exciting to watch and there will be a lot of new characters that nobody cares about (+ some old ones that we never cared about like Shower Harvey and Lorenzo). Feels like a continuance of the suckage of 6A. The promise of a big bad that's bigger and badder than ever before doesn't help...Charlotte was a killer too so the hype about the new bad that's not afraid to kill is a load of crap. This isn't Buffy...the new big bad doesn't have to be more powerful than the last and we don't need an apocalypse every season. Just give us the characters we love being their loveable selves and actually dealing with their crap.
  4. I'm very curious about Shay Mitchell's performance in Mother's Day. We've been able to see the other actresses' capabilities in other projects, but PLL has been Shay's only real role. She isn't the best actress but has greatly improved over the years and is able to give moving performances and can be quite funny too. But she has some misses too...Will be weird seeing her as someone other than Emily. Can't wait!
  5. I just rewatched this show and wish they would bring it back! With all the recent reboots, why not this one. It's so frustrating that it ended with so many loose ends and characters that disappeared and were never seen again. Season 2 was not as fun as season 1. The cult element and anomalies were too Buffy/Angel-esque and the show drifted away too much from its (manti)core storyline. But still, cool effects...especially for 15 years ago. Would be fun to pick this show back up when it's really 2020. The show was pretty progressive for that time too. I had completely forgotten about Original Cindy being a lesbian and that one episode with Normal dating a transgender and not thinking anything of it.
  6. As expected, Louisa is the winner. It was very much deserved. Che was kinda screwed over (even though he didn't stand a chance regardless). I completely agree that Valerie highlighted that he doesn't dance and it was awkward with him just standing there. I was taken back to an audition in I think it was the American X-factor where a group smashed that song in their first audition with an amazing dance routine (and then disappearing from the show with no explanation) and wished I was watching them instead of Che. His duet was horrribly boring and lacked chemistry. I still don't get RnB. Their vocals are aweful. Maybe they sound better live? Even as a party group their vocals usually sound too weak to get me going. Forever Young pretty much sealed the deal as that's a song completely suited for Louisa's voice and the backing singers sung most of it for RnB. Overall I really enjoyed this season. It's one of the only times that I felt really bad for all the booted contestants and wish them all the best. I cried a few times too. The jury was so refreshing. I was ecstatic when deadweight Louis Walsh was finally dropped. There was no stupid drama and they all seem to get on really well. They were all very invested in their contestants and it showed. Simon was actually the weakest link. He's gone too soft, imo.
  7. I kinda expected this bottom 3 because I really like Keira and am rooting for her so I hope she gets it together and grows in the competition. Still hate Lauren but predict she and Max will be those two annoying contestants that get raving reviews and stay in despite being completely generic. Anton is too awkward and over-the-top for me to be able to enjoy. Che has an amazing voice and range too, but utilizes it better and in a more audience-friendly way. That was Sean trying not to be cabaret...? Then what is Sean in full on cabaret mode like?? He kinda reminds me of Adam Lambert. He should pull back on the theatrics, but still one of the best of the night. He looks weird without the cap though! Mason was pretty lackluster. I only ever really liked him with that vocal at judges houses and thought he was overrated before that. Reggie 'n Bollie are fun but there are the competition this year is too stiff for them to be able to last long. It will depend on song choice how long they stay in... 4th impact was not as good as usual. The cracks are starting to show. Alien was okay. Simon's Overs are all losers. Sam has a nice voice, but is boring and I'm with Cheryl on not digging the reggae Adele. Bupsi has a weak vocal and is dated/wedding singer. Anton is awkward to watch and that same vocal gets boring after a few weeks. Simon made the wrong choices. He should have brought Jennifer, that teacher Carrie-Ann or something and that other black woman from six chair with the curls...don't remember her name, but remember her performances. I liked Monica's song, but not a fan of the hair! Makes her look too severe/bitchy. I prefer the curls. Louisa is the clear winner of the night for me, with Che as a close second. Keira had a bad song and Lauren was overrated as usual.
  8. Louiza has the most potential right now and could be a superstar. I actually thought she and Simon for the boys would be final 2 after the six-chair-challenge but then Simon completely effed up his audition and didn't get picked. Lauren's personality and attitude are so grating. I didn't get what the big deal with her was in previous auditions. Okay, she has a nice voice but so do a ton of other girls whose presence isn't awful.
  9. Oh wow, I'm glad they cut that...But argh, now it's in my head and so I can't ignore that that actually happened. Every black character (and there aren't many) either dead or shady...this is worse than The Walking Dead. I love that Officer (detective now) Barry is the one good and reasonable cop...Man, that clip is such unnecessary character assasination!
  10. I'm intrigued! Hopefully there'll be a video with sound soon. I also want to know what in the world Hanna and Melissa have to talk about... Wonder if speculation about Emily joining the army is true after all and she got injured. Suffering from ptds? Reaction to her dad's death? Have there been any signs of Nia Peeples on set? Because she won't be in the November special has me wondering if it's not Pam that dies rather than Wayne.
  11. Nope, not that I recall/saw. She was asked about the inconsistency wrt Toby's mom and whether Charlotte was always the plan or if they changed it. Paleyfest Nice panel. So Marlene lowkey announced that the seventh season is the last with these girls. "It's a group decision" to me means it's up to the girls whether they want to continue, but it seems obvious to me that that won't be the case (not a full season anyway). Unless they get some big bucks, but considering the cheaper production quality of late, I don't see that happening. Sounds like they're wanting to keep the PLL universe alive though with new people.
  12. I think they're aware of the plotholes and some of the ridiculousness (and are more comfortable being vocal about that nowadays) Here is one of Troian and Marlene. That channel also has different interviews with Sasha/Lucy and Oliver/Joseph.
  13. If Charlotte or someone else gets killed, the police could've told them not to leave the state. Or the new big bad is holding their new secrets over them again. Hey now, it was an honest mistake...Charlotte thought she was killing Bethany. And the other times she was just trying to scare her lol. I think I'd prefer Alison going back to some of her manipulative ways over a continuation of the docile version. It's nice that she's grown but it's not that exciting. (Definitely not when complete strangers are picking the fruits of that personality change rather than the established characters she has a history with.) 1 Ezria is enough, don't need another mushy, carstopping romance. Agreed. Even worse is that Hanna is engaged to someone else already...Wonder how Caleb is going to get incorporated in the story, Ezra has the brew, Toby is a Rosewood native and cop,...but Caleb has no ties to Rosewood other than Hanna. lol, the girls' reaction to Sara Harvey saving them from the lodge fire in this EW interview at 5:43
  14. I wanted it to be answered quickly because when they take their time to resolve a mystery, it always gets retconned and ends up making no sense. Like, even though Troian said we'll sorta know who 'he' is at the end, I still don't completely buy that they won't all of a sudden change it up in S7 because of actor unavailability, an 8th season, another of Marlene's genius ideas,...making 6B obsolete. Getting married in early twenties is rare these days but not unheard of. 1 out of a group of 5 is not unrealistic imo. Especially for Alison whose family is so messed up, I could buy her getting married quickly and starting a new family in search of some normalcy after all that happened. And they would have had 5 years to meet, date, get engaged and married. Whereas now they'll start dating and get married in half a season which in Rosewood time is 2 weeks. So far, he seems pretty boring to me. I hope he ups his creep factor as the season progresses because the cardinal sin in PLL is being boring. The psychiatrist factor is kinda icky and I sincerely hope he was only Charlotte's psychiatrist and never ever had a session with Alison...and even then it's icky because he would get all kinds of intimate knowledge through Charlotte about Alison and I'm sure they must have had group sessions and stuff... Part of me hoped that Ali has been working her charm to get a positive evaluation for Charlotte and get this influential person on their side, but it sounds like it will be a sincere love story. Yeah. I am beyond frustrated that they never had that conversation. I mean, we don't even know for sure if Alison had even ever had sex before that. She strung along a lot of guys, but she was only 15. Confirmed that she didn't have sex with Ian and I doubt she would have held out if she'd had sex already with someone else. Sure, there was the "pregnancy scare" but that story came from Cece and could have been completely fabricated. And Mona confirmed at some point that Ali was never pregnant. I'm bummed out about it, but it's still nice that it appears Emily/Alison will be around each other more overall than in the past season. Their scenes always suck me in and it could even be enough for me to just have them continue as special friends if the cast and crew stopped teasing emison is endgame and Marlene saying she loves them and roots for them. Stop that if it's never gonna happen... Haha, that's hilarious. The fanmade ones actually look better than the shots used for the show. Haha. I do wonder what his book ended up being about...And Emily *sigh* I guess it was too much to hope for that she might have thrived post-Rosewood. It seems all we've been getting since season 2 is dark Emily losing her dreams and loved ones.
  15. Joseph and Oliver Sasha and Lucy Ashley and Shay
  16. The first time I saw the episode I didn't question whether they had sex because of the way it was cut with Ezria's sex scene. But then all the fans started questioning it and Marlene was ambigious about it and they never followed up so I started believing that it was just kissing...Guess not! That just makes everything that happened (or rather didn't happen) afterwards so much worse... I hate the PLL team for sucking me into Emison everytime I give up on that relationship haha. It really sucks that they've been teasing it so much only for 6B to apparently be the story of how Alison falls in love for the first time and gets married. Bartending may be realistic but come on...Hanna is a bigshot fashionista, Aria is a succesful publisher, Spencer seems be on the uprise in Washington, Alison is a beloved teacher...and Emily is bartending. Let's not forget you can become a cop in 2 days in this universe. 5 years is a lifetime. Maybe she's undercover for a law enforcement agency...one can hope.
  17. They're often awkward, I agree, but a lot of casts do make an effort to joke around a bit and have some new tidbits or fun facts to throw at the fans. They did seem like they didn't really wanna be there which I don't completely hold against them because they must be tired and wanting to go on vacation already and this is pulling them back into work at the start of their hiatus. But come on, put a little effort into it for one more day. Even the producers seemed in defensive!mode. Yeah okay, they had to field some questions about inconsistencies but instead of pulling us in with some exciting news for the next season, Marlene couldn't even remember the date the special airs. Nice promo, guys... Yeah, I noticed Shay's voice got a little husky at times and she's been doing this for days already so I give her a pass.
  18. Oh yeah, I thought I'd seen links posted. The first 4 minutes Comic con panel Interview with Troian, Shay and Sasha
  19. I like Ash Benzo, but she was being kinda obnoxious at the panel...Made it a little awkward sometimes. Wish the fans asked better questions...Why ask things you know they can't answer or have answered a million times in the past... Sasha was the only one who tried and had some nice things to say. Lucy and Shay said the same things they always do and Troian didn't seem to want to say anything at all...
  20. Ugh, so rather than the show picking up where it left off it's gonna be a whole season before we find out what the meaning was of that time jump scene and who "he" is?! And Alison is just starting her relationship with Dr. Rollins "five years later" and is apparently going to get married to him between 6B and 7 rather than during those 5 years?! Ugh... They've been dangling the carrot in front of Emison shippers but it feels like they're just setting that fanbase up for major disappointment. The reiteration of 'special bond' and 'romantic friendship' doesn't bode well when reading between the lines...Despite the fanservicing pictures and comments. It would have been one thing for Ali to be married headed for divorce. But the sneak peek tells a different story so don't see how Emison gets worked into that. Lorenzo 2.0... Oh and is it just me or does Rollins look exactly like Freddy Prinze Jr.? Kinda disappointed with where Emily's at...Bartending, really? All the liars are living their dreams but Emily gets shit on again.
  21. They had this theory at the beginning that Aria is A and Spencer is the killer. Hanna and Emily aren't real. Hanna is Aria's imagined self and Emily is Spencer's imagined self. There were quite a few moments that support the theory so it was a fun lens through which they viewed the show but over time obviously we know it's not possible. It just got a little frustrating sometimes because even though Hanna and Emily's storylines were discussed it felt to me kinda second tire to Aria and Spencer (they admit this too). They're very pro-Aria and Aria/Ezra scenes got discussed ad nauseum. They're not shippers or anything, it was more in a 'that's so Aria' way but still tiring after hours of podcast material.
  22. I think the difference is Mrs. D (and Mona, Cece,...) are so over-the-top wicked that it becomes 'just for tv' and you kinda have to love them. Because there is no way there's someone in the real world who would do all those things and behave that way. Whereas an asshole like Mr. D (and all the other gross guys) is someone every woman will encounter in her lifetime at least once. It's easier to forgive the women for their transgressions because the percentile of people who get buried alive by their mother or turned into living dolls is negligible so you view those crimes through a tv-lens. Misogyny is everywhere. I started listening to the Bros podcast over the summer and am stuck somewhere in S 3b because I haven't had time to listen lately. And I got a little bored because they got repetitive with their Aria=Hanna, Spencer=Emily theory. I'll probably start listening again during this hiatus but it kinda sucks that they gloss over Hanna and Emily a lot of the time (they're my favs) but can spend 30 minutes discussing Aria's outfit. I did listen to these last 2 and agree with most of what they had to say (except the Shower Harvey love!). I especially agree that the episode needed room to breathe.
  23. There has to be something up with those cops who were carrying out the bags of evidence... Maybe Charlotte was running a fraudulous business (rather than legitimately making millions of dollars in a year) and Rhys was the whistleblower. That's why he was meeting up with Clark and wanted to having a secret rendez-vous with Kenneth to warn him about what was going on and that the Dilaurentis's may be implicated. The jig was up at her company, the dollhouse was discovered, the school year is over so it's time for the villainous monologue. I don't because I really like that weird dynamic between the liars and Jenna where she's their victim but they threat her as if she were the villain. It's so fascinating because the liars are awful horrible shits from her pov but she's so frickin shady from the liars pov and we as the audience can understand why both sides behave the way they do. I wanna know why A has tried to blow her up like a dozen times though...
  24. That's pretty sad if that's how it went down...Even if the executive producers didn't remember that stuff, none of the rest of the cast and crew did??! Some small adjustments here and there could've gone a long way. Yeah, that's hard to explain away. I'm sure they had her in mind as a possibility but there's no way they had Cece is Charles planned before season 5. You could always fanwank of course to make it make sense. Mrs. D was just freaked out because Charlotte is involving Alison in the Radley part of her world so she wants them to cut ties. Ali is a digger and could easily find out something that makes the whole secret unravel. I was just thinking about baby Ali drowning in the tub. The origin story of how Ali decided to teach herself how to hold her breath for 2 hours. Or was she born with that skill...
  25. Was that really necessary though if they're starting a new mystery that's apparently unrelated but for a small connection to the old? There was no reason not to use the episodes to tie up all the loose ends in this season and start completely fresh. I believe Sasha even said that she was told in not so many words that she's most likely alive. As much as the books suck in terms of friendship and likeability between the girls, the show was a lot tighter when it still followed the general plot outline of the books. Maybe they should get Sara Shephard on board to right this ship. Yeah...I explain it away in my head with she was overwhelmed with guilt and loneliness until Mona came along and gave her something to live for. She basically projected all of her own guilt of killing Alison onto the liars for not missing her enough even though that's really bs. That's the only way she could crawl out of her depression and start living again. As A.
