  1. Whoa, I gasped when Elena shoved that needle into Rafael's neck! Sad for Rafael, finally giving her a chance, only to find out she's a criminal (just like his stepmom) and sad for Luisa as well, being hopeful about seeing her mother, only to find out she died. At least Luisa's mom didn't seem to be tied to any criminal activity, so she can feel good about that, I guess. The Mateo/sleep plot was boring, since it was so typical for this show. Neurotic Jane, researching like crazy, can't leave things alone for five minutes without panicking. And then the big family celebration in the end. I get that it's her personality, I get it. But holy crap, dude! I agree with you @ShellsandCheese, sign me up for Jane/McBaskets, lol. He's too much of a stereotype, too dumb for her (and inappropriate, too) but they had really nice chemistry. I also thought it was strange to see her heading a class after a semester or two, and with no supervision. I don't know anything about grad school so I'm glad to read here that I wasn't wrong for thinking that. I was so happy that Petra got justice... until Magda and the narrator implied she'd be in big trouble one day. Really worried that something will happen to her twins because of whatever Magda manages to do. I really hope Petra doesn't visit her in jail or try to reach out to her again, and I hope Magda being out of her life means she can reach out to Jane again.
  2. A lot going on, and the editing was a little weird as well. Hopefully the rest of the episodes are better. I don't follow the press for this show but I did read an interview with Maia and David (Callie and Brandon) (it's in the media thread) and Maia seemed totally over Jake T. Like, no love lost. It seemed to me that Jake checked out of the job, and Noah's engaged, so I really want to give him a fair chance... but he's very deadpan. Zippier than the actor playing AJ, though, I'll give him that. Hopefully he'll improve. His whole steroids story seemed asinine; why couldn't he have just told them that instead of lying about being homesick or flunking out? With Connor leaving, I think they might be setting up that new foster kid to be Jude's next love interest. I'd be just as happy with it staying platonic, works for me either way. He's very... intense. Speaking of love interests, even before the bartender got into frame, I knew it would be a pretty girl who would vibe with Brandon. I agree. It's so in her history to do this, dating foster siblings... I don't recall, didn't Stef and Lena talk to her about her and AJ, when they were caught kissing in the bounce house? I can't remember what that was all about. I like their friendship but romantically, she needs to look into guys she isn't related to via fostering. Definitely got shady vibes from this foster advocate lady. They should have done some more research on her (I'm sure a quick search would show her name associated with the offending foster group organization), and I have no clue why they would make her an admin.
  3. Woz and that guy kissing out of nowhere had me choking out, "what?!" Haha. Totally didn't see that coming. Loman is making me cringe, he's making things so much worse by involving himself with the mourners, getting that woman's number. Though I think he's planning to kill himself, so perhaps he's trying to make things "right" first. "I'm gonna go get a cookie... process this betrayal." or however it went, made me laugh out loud. If they keep the Harlee/Stahl thing adversarial, then I'm into it. But with her putting her wire on so he could hear her get hot and heavy with a guy, and his "take off your dress/I own you" business, I'm thinking they're going to pair them up romantically (or at least sexually) and you know... I really don't want to go there. I don't usually watch cop shows, so I don't know how this measures up in general, but what I'm enjoying so far is that Woz already suspects (or suspected) the right person, so we get to see how long Harlee can weasel her way out of sticky situations.
  4. I'm totally confused by the Prudence plot as well... so she did end up working with Helena, Cyrus got married to Helena's gynecologist, there was a baby switcheroo, and Prudence ran off with the real baby? All in the name of Alistair Lacey (who I thought was the minister at the wedding, though that wouldn't make sense, lol)? But... I don't get it. What did Prudence get out of it, why did she bother with fake-marrying him? To have her son born in the castle, acknowledged as Cyrus' son, so she can swoop in if something happens to Cyrus? No surprise that Robert's alive... I hope whoever is cast as him has chemistry with William and Alexandra, who I continue to enjoy together (and continue to forget are twins). I've always found Ted's actor a bit off, acting-wise, but he was very compelling in this episode. Also have to give props to William, he did a great job reacting to the video footage. That anti-monarchy guy and Cyrus' daughter was totally random. He actually liked her? OK. Again, no offense to the actresses but the daughters may as well be written off now. It does seem like the Domino thing may be over, though it wouldn't make sense, as they still have the video and still want revenge. Unless Dominque stole the footage.
  5. I was confused about Tristan's comment too but maybe he was only having oral sex? Vijay said something about, "I'd never done that with anyone before". But that's still sex. LOL. If that's what happened, then they missed an opportunity to point out that oral sex requires as much safety as "actual" sex. I totally think Zoe's pregnant. But I was confused about what she and Zig did as well... first it seemed like sex, then it was just kissing. Guess we'll find out, if she ends up pregnant. I noticed Mr. Perrino's actor's name in the credits for one of the episodes but he never popped up... weird. I like the new English teacher a lot but I'm glad Armstrong and Perrino are still around after all these years. -- Edited to add a spoiler tag, just to be safe, since people are posting at different points of their watch-throughs.
  6. And I just discovered this now: Noah Huntley, who plays Alistair Lacey, played the older version of Peter in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (and as MoonBeam stated above, William Moseley aka Prince Liam, played the younger Peter). It's been a long time since I watched that movie, or else I'd have noticed that connection myself!
  7. Wow, I didn't want this episode to end. The Eleanor/Imogen story was very good. It sounds like Imogen is going to go as far away as possible but I'd like her and Eleanor to become friends. Continue to love everything about Mr. Hill, and his relationship with Eleanor. They better not ever make him a bad guy! Helena sent Rachel to set up an appointment for the DNA testing, right? You'd think Helena wouldn't have entrusted anyone with that information, considering how easy it is to fake things (and how easily these loyal employees turn on them). And now she's not going to bother with it? Hopefully they'll answer that question next season. Lucius' dedication to the Crown is... pathetic. But he'll be released once the video of Ted killing Simon gets out. Well, Prudence has it all figured out, huh? Got her makeup popping, too. LOL. And she's still pregnant... she really didn't look it in the last episode. (Also, her apartment looked nice, what the heck was she talking about, "look at this, I don't want this for my son"?) I was thinking Cyrus seemed to have bounced back pretty quickly after Violet's violent end (allegedly... I bet we'll see her again) but we got a little moment of sadness from him at the end. What's with all these maids trying to hook up with him, anyway? Geez. I see what you did there, Prime Minister, offering Liam a job in New York, where Ophelia lives. (Is it bad that I kinda want Liam and the PM to hook up now? He's so spotless on a show full of messy characters.) I'm glad he turned it down, and I enjoyed him and Willow (I know her name now! LOL) in this episode. I have a feeling Ophelia will pop up in the finale, especially with the reveal (well, confirmation) that Ted's the killer, but I'd like to continue with Liam and Willow, see where it goes. Lucky for Jasper, those bratty kids having an HD camera set up the night of the murder. I could have done with seeing the fight only on the computer screen; going back to the actual night didn't reveal anything new and honestly, it just looked really awkward. And won't Ted be out for Jasper's ass now, since he can tell what footage he's viewing? Speaking of ass-having, I wish Liam had had the time to really let him have it, it would have helped with the constant distaste in my mouth when it comes to Jasper/Eleanor (though I almost sympathized with him/them tonight), even though his anger was about the con job, not the rapey/BDSM weirdness. Oh, and I loved all the cracks at Jasper's accent... it was shocking to me, to find out that the English accent is the actor's real one, because I thought it was pretty bad. LOL! No offense to the actresses playing Cyrus' daughters but they may as well cut those characters at this point, they're so irrelevant now. They have no ties to the main stories; their dad's King, is marrying the maid who's giving him a male heir, which would make her Queen... and they have nothing to do with any of it. And I don't even remember why that guy was pursuing the both of them... to help declare them incompetent or something, right? But I don't see what that has to do with anything now.
  8. The episodes are available on their F2N website at around 1am each night.
  9. Wait. So Cyrus... wait. My first thought was that he was just making moves with Prudence, trying to get back at Dutchie. But then I remembered that random scene a few episodes ago where he went to Prudence's home and asked if she was sure she was having a son. So perhaps the plan really was always to marry Prudence for show but have Violet as a private, true love? When did Violet come into the picture anyway, before or after he went to Prudence's? I had been hoping to see Prudence's revenge but it seems she gave up on it. This is the second time I can remember that she looked like she was going to do something badass and then did nothing (that random scene where she had a gun in her purse in S1). Also, she didn't look pregnant, did she have the kid already? I'm sure Violet will pop up one day to cause some trouble with Cyrus and Prudence... no one's dead on this show unless they're shown without a pulse. I liked all the transitions in this episode, they got creative with the editing. I'm glad they didn't drag out the who killed Dominque thing (as well as Violet) because it was obvious it was Dutchie. So cold-hearted. Ted's got the confession on camera, too (and he put flowers in Liam's room, bet there's a camera in there for some future reason). Between Dutchie getting stripped of her title and income, and Liam's sure to be popular video, I wonder if next season will be about turning things around (with road bumps along the way, of course). Also, Liam said he was sure Domino didn't kill Robert or Simon... how does he know that? Did Dominque Jr. tell him that last week? I can't remember. I'm sure Helena and the twins will get back to butting heads but I really enjoyed seeing them have some emotional, honest moments. Cracked up at Helena and Cyrus fighting. "You kicked me in my balls!" "Your ball-luh!" I liked the James reveal. I thought he might be a military buddy of Robert's, finally making good on a promise to keep an eye on the family, but his more simple, touching story was good. I really, really hope he's legit and doesn't end up screwing Eleanor over (which he will, on a show like this) because I love them together. Oh yeah, and I'm glad Eleanor got her earrings back. None for you, Mandy.
  10. Well that was a lot of information! Are they saying that Ted killed Robert as well? I was confused by his twitchy smirk (and the influx of info). So he's getting revenge for his wife's death and now he has a partner to do it with? And you know, Helena and Duchie know about Domino, that they take two of theirs for the one they took... so what are they planning to do about it? It seems like Liam, Jasper, and Ted have been checking into it, while those two have done nothing. What did Jasper notice on the security camera? Some guy walking by after Eleanor went in her room, but who, and why did that make him think to find out about how long it takes to get back to the castle? Dominque Jr. is being coerced by her dad... and I guess her telling Liam all those things was really part of the plan? But why warn him at all? I love that we got to see Helena in that gorgeous cream outfit again, haha. Her scenes with Eleanor were very nice, although they seemed a touch strange since she's been cold up until now. I believe she was genuine, and I'm happy she took Alistair's words to heart. It'll just make whatever happens with Domino even worse, though. Blah to all the Eleanor/Jasper stuff, though. I just can't get into it. I think it's pretty clear that Duchie killed Dominque... will the twins ever believe it, though? They seem to like her a lot. Duchie was very cruel in this episode, geez. At least Helena and Eleanor are (hopefully) on a better path. I still can't tell what Violet's up to. She seemed very uncomfortable with Cyrus' proclamation of love, which could be natural, or maybe she realized that it makes whatever she's really up to more difficult to go through with. I wonder where she went (I don't think she was taken by anyone, or perhaps Duchie intervened again), and if Cyrus changed his speech because of that. Because I don't see how it changed anything, everyone knows he's pretty much a tyrant. I was confused about why my DVR taped an extra half hour this time but it was for the post-show thing. I don't do much besides watch the show but I'm happy I got to see that little preview for next week.
  11. Alistair's alive! Heck yeah. And actually, all those random ghost visions made his (almost expected) appearance surprising... is he real, is he a ghost? He seems to be done with Helena's shit, which is totally understandable but it sucks because they're so nice together. Hopefully she can make it up to him. The paternity drama seems like a new development rather than a planned reveal... has he ever shown any emotion toward the kids? I may very well have forgotten. I don't know how I want this to turn out, the twins being Simon's or Alistair's. For the twins, it would be better to be confirmed as Simon's but being Alistair's would lend to more stories. Anyway, I'm glad Helena's going under the radar with it (or holding off on finding out) because she knows how easy it is to fix the results. Also, I was much more impressed with Elizabeth's acting this week... maybe she needs someone to work off of, or she's just particularly good with that actor. And her outfit was fantastic, she looked so great. Also awesome was seeing the drug rehab girl again. I didn't recognize her at all, and they commented on it a lot... it was the same actress, right? Sucks that her boyfriend is controlling. I hope she can get with the guy (Liam's friend?) who got him away from her. Or maybe she and Eleanor could hook up, I thought I saw some vibes there. Fun (but slightly awkward) reference to William Moseley, with the beer pong couple being the Moseleys. I enjoyed Liam and polo girl (not being dismissive, I still don't know her name, lol) a little bit more in this episode... I think my issue might be with him rather than her. She seems to be more comfortable with the playful dynamic than he does. I like how slow they're going, keeping it light. Also, another bit of movement with Domino, with the blonde girl. She doesn't seem like she's doing any of this willingly. Maybe she'll be an ally. If Jasper was really trying to do the right thing, why didn't he tell the guards about Mandy? Have her hauled outta there. I thought giving her the earrings was really stupid. I get that it was for dramatic effect but she clearly felt nothing about it and was rewarded for her shittiness. I'm glad the truth is out there now, though. I still don't care about Jasper and his single tear, nor do I think I can ever get on board with that relationship, but I think I understand him better now. I guess he was following in his parents' footsteps (and/or trying to buy them out of debt?) but fell for Eleanor, and has been more or less honest in that regard since. So maybe he really is helping Liam and was lying to Mandy about gaining their trust in order to screw them over. Cyrus and his girlfriend are moving so fast; now it looks like he's planning to propose (they looked like a bride and groom tonight, too)? Look, I get that this show shouldn't be taken too seriously but what the heck? And I don't know if it was purposeful or if it was just some actor weirdness but the actress didn't look comfortable with that kiss. Haven't seen Cyrus' kids in a while, have we? Where are they, what does Cyrus think of his daughter's extreme makeover, what do they think about this new woman in his life? I feel like we saw them more in the first season but maybe this is par for the course?
  12. I wasn't suggesting that Michael should get a win just because he fixed the angel. No, he messed up big time. I was just saying that the original pairings would allow everyone to be happy, pending the necessary apologies and therapy sessions, lol. And actually, on the other hand, if they want to go the Rafael/Jane route, then put Michael and Petra together... another potentially happy setup! Especially if Rafael's not the father like you suggest, then that could open the door for that. I'm talking in the far future, nothing right now. Point is, I'm fine with whatever, I quickly learned that this is not the show to get attached to ships. :P
  13. I liked angry!Jane over fretting!Jane, for sure. I also liked Rafael acting out Jane's interpretation in therapy. I'm glad someone sees that Magda needs to go. I wasn't surprised that she called the cops on Petra, since she'd said she was going to confess. I'm sure they could get rid of Magda and still have Milos as the bad influence for a while. And Petra can be bad on her own (stealing Rafael's sperm). Have her and Michael fall for each other, that'll cause some drama (and pull Michael back into things). I liked Rogelio telling Xo about his anger re: being kept from Jane, and how he didn't like how she was encouraging Jane to do the same with Rafael. Alba getting her green card was another nice scene. My favorite relationships on the show right now are Rogelio/Michael and Jane/Petra. LOL. I've been more moved by their "break ups" than anything going on with the actual romances lately. I'm looking forward to when they finally realize they can be one big happy alternative family (Jane/Michael, Petra/Rafael) many seasons from now (*fingers crossed*). Everything would work out that way, it's just the guys who need to get it together. More people to love Mateo and Petra's twins (and any subsequent children).
  14. Uh... I think the show officially lost me tonight. I'm so confused. So Jasper and Samantha's were working together to steal the diamond but then he backed off after he fell for Eleanor (yawn!) so she popped up to finish the job? Well, OK. Nice callback with the "you don't control this" bit, surprised they referenced that when they've been working to redeem him from his crappy beginnings. I hate that Eleanor is getting played like this. She's so happy and relaxed with "Mandy", and it's not like with Beck where she felt like she had to live up to his expectations. And I don't see how the expected reunion with Jasper will happen once this whole thing comes to light... this just makes the situation even worse. I really hope Silver Fox is legit, maybe sent by one of Robert's people to protect her. He didn't seem to like Jasper's supposed vetting of Samantha, so I hope he's suspicious enough to do his own research. I still hold out hope that Lacey managed to escape but it seems he's confirmed dead. Maybe Elizabeth Hurley didn't have it in her but I wanted more of a reaction to the news. The love of her life, dead, elicits a mere sigh? Lucius and Ted's conversation was so creepy, and now I believe Ted killed Simon on purpose, not by being a crappy security agent. And/or maybe the domino people told him what to do and Ted's just saving his incompetent ass. Either way, I'm glad Helena doesn't believe Lucius's confession. Maybe she'll start having visions now. Speaking of... Cyrus and his hallucinations were so very, very weird. A good excuse to have the actor back, though. As surprisingly cute as I find them, I'm confused about why Cyrus and the upgraded maid are so sweet on each other so fast, and where this is meant to go. Wackadoo theory: they steal Prudence's baby and try to pass him off as their own. I don't know. *throws hands up* Polo girl (if she got a name tonight, I missed it) and Liam are marginally better than Ophelia and Liam but I can't say I'm excited about them either. Had to laugh when the interim PM said she thought he was fun or a playboy, whatever she said. He really isn't. Joan Collins had a couple of good zingers tonight: the "taste the rainbow" one (with Helena's teenager-esque eye rolls) and the "watch the hair" line. The promo after the show took me by surprise but I guess we are at the midpoint now, so we get a special one. Not really a big deal but just in case:
  15. Here's to another week of me actually feeling sympathy for Cyrus... ugh, how dare you! LOL. Gotta give credit to Jake Maskall again. I guess the maid is genuinely into him? I do find them cute, I guess. And I loved her sparkly lingerie. Intense fight between Helena and Cyrus, awkward ending with him dropping the bottle. Guess he figures he's dead anyway so who cares about his image. All that back and forth over the monument just for it to be smashed by the end of the day, lol. I usually just watch the show and call it a day but I happened to see something about a deleted scene on the season 1 DVD that said Ted killed Simon, so I wasn't surprised by that reveal, unfortunately. Why in the world would they put that on the DVD?? Glad to have a face to the domino organization, and that we're getting somewhere with the story. I wonder why Ted snapped, was it because Simon wanting to end the monarchy would have meant his wife died for nothing? Or is it one of those, "you let him die because you suck at your job" type things? I don't know. Although I like Eleanor and Samantha together, I'm so beyond tired of the "I'm done with boys/girls" justification/foreshadowing for a character "switching teams". They just did that on Degrassi, and it's so annoying. And they really didn't need to do it, I would have believed Eleanor was down with it, and they have nice chemistry to support it. Seriously, they could have her say she's known she was bisexual but just hadn't found the right girl, or something like that. "I'm taking a guy-atus, I'm done with boys, so you're done with boys, huh?" Yeah, I get it, I see what's happening here. Geez. I knew Jasper knew her from the moment he walked in the room... what the heck is this about now? Love triangle? Thrilling. If they have a threesome, I'll lose my shit. Her threatening to reveal his secrets? Depending on how far back they go, that could be interesting. Is she really into Eleanor and the Jasper thing is just a plus, or is Eleanor about to be played again? It'll be worse, considering those two know each other. I'm frustrated, I wanted them to be legit. Now we're finally getting back to Captain Lacey! I keep hoping he managed to survive, I really liked him with Helena, and it sucks that she might have chosen love too late. Good to finally see the new actress playing one of the sisters but... I think the redhead is prettier. Next week's promo suggested that Helena, Liam, and Eleanor find out who Simon's killer is, but I have a feeling they'll get the wrong information.
  16. Wow... I actually felt sorry for Cyrus. Kudos to the actor, didn't think that was possible. But I don't think he has cancer at all... I think this may be Prudence's payback, with the help of someone with money. If they can get doctors to lie about DNA results, they can certainly lie about cancer. Wouldn't that be a bitch, to realize you had a testicle removed (and replaced with a dog's?! Is that a real thing?) for nothing. And that takes me back to the feeling sorry for him thing... he's horrible, why do I feel this way?! LOL. I don't recall Ophelia and Liam ever being this basic. Like, their dialogue was so stilted, lots of "no wait, I have more kind things to say". I'm glad they didn't get back together and I liked the surprise return of Nick. Wonder how they crossed paths again. I'm sure they'll reunite anyway but I wish they'd take a hard look at them and at Beck/Eleanor or even Eleanor/New Girl (forgot her name already) and see that Liam/Ophelia pales in comparison. The polo girl's quirkiness has the potential to wear thin but I still prefer her to Ophelia. As for Eleanor... as much as I prefer her with Beck, I actually really liked what happened. I think it makes total sense, bad timing once again. She's not there yet, and he's not helping, though he means well. And I'm glad they have another love interest for her, so she's not going back to Jasper just yet, that would have bugged the crap out of me. So far, I like the new girl (now both twins will have had an American girlfriend). It seems like it might be a good balance of partying/fun and much needed conversations. We'll see how it goes. Queen vs. Queen was entertaining, actually. I think both actresses played well off each other, it seems like a fair fight. I wonder if a real kidnapping will take place, perhaps at the end of the season. If so, I'd love it if it were Robert, who faked or escaped his death and will reveal everything about the domino organization.
  17. I was more moved by Jane and Petra's date/break up than the Raf/Jane/Michael stuff, haha. Seriously, I'm so into the Jane/Petra friendship and I love that they joked about it being romantic. The love triangle stuff, however... I'm losing the desire to invest in either pairing because once they pick a path, they immediately retract it (first, she picks Michael, then calls things off when he screws up; next, she agrees to date Rafael, then leaves angrily when he screws up... both within two episodes [yes, six months have passed in-series, but you get what I'm saying, lol]). I agree with Lady Calypso, they should have kept her single for all that was accomplished here. Jane being neurotic over leaving Mateo with a babysitter and the adviser stuff... I've said it before: I get that it's her personality but it's wearing thin now and I don't know why. If she doesn't hook up with the professor, I'll be shocked... but at least it'll be something different than this love triangle? Surprised that Michael was undercover, was fed up with Nadine but didn't necessarily want her killed off, still unsure about Michael's new partner. And now Luisa's mother is a criminal as well? Their dad knows how to choose 'em, huh? Well, I found that reveal interesting but otherwise, this wasn't the greatest episode. Since the promo didn't show anything from next week's episode, I'm hoping that means there will be lots of wild stuff.
  18. I really enjoyed this episode! I don't think I've ever laughed out loud at the show before but they got me twice tonight. Liam being fun(ny)? Where did that come from? I always thought William was a little uncomfortable and stiff (I only know him from this and Narnia, so maybe that's just him), so that accent bit was a pleasant surprise. The Liam/Jasper pairing is a good one so far, I just wish I didn't have a sour taste in my mouth about Jasper (I'm rewatching S1 on Amazon Prime, which has reminded me of his icky beginnings). Sorry, but I don't sympathize with him and his Eleanor feels. Anyway, I guess he really is on Liam's side, if he's vocalizing, on his own, that he's going to avenge Simon's death. Will we ever find out who he really is? Another LOL moment for me was Cyrus' "lung cancer in my balls" quip. I was thinking he was full of it but based on the ending, I guess he really does have cancer (or someone's paying off a doctor to make him think he does). What kind of treatments is he getting? If he was getting chemo, he'd have some hair loss, wouldn't he? I think I'd lose it if they had some dramatic wig removal scene. I'm torn on whether I want him to live or not; the character is so foul but interesting, and the actor is really good. (Oh, another funny line was the "Haul Away" comment re: Holloway.) So I'm guessing they recast one of Cyrus' daughters? Extreme plastic surgery, "new voice"... luckily it fits in with the cheesiness of the show. From what little we saw, the new actress looked and sounded young. Don't know why this happened but hopefully it won't be a bad change. I like Eleanor's new bodyguard... I hope he's legit because I think they'd have a lot of fun together, with their snarky banter. And I think he could be a father-figure for her, someone on her side who doesn't want to bone her. Speaking of boning, the Beck/Eleanor sex scene was very nice but I can see they're already setting up Beck's downfall... she wants to party and he wishes she would stop. How long until Jasper swoops in? Because apparently that's what we should be rooting for. Meh. Lovely moment with Liam and Eleanor on the boat... I always forget they're twins, though, even with all the mentions of it. I'm not sure, was I supposed to be amazed by the new PM being a bad ass, or is this a major actor that I just don't recognize? As for the previous PM, did Lucius take care him like he did the Queen's lover? At least we won't see his butt anymore, geez. Oh, Ophelia. For some reason, I had it in my mind that we wouldn't be seeing her until the end of the season. Well, I don't think they'll be back on, at least not yet.
  19. Oh, I didn't realize that was Ennis playing Rich.com! He and the actor who played David were both on The LA Complex together. @HappyHarpy, I just feel like they got notes that Weller needed some work, not that his humor, etc., is the natural progression of things. The ex-girlfriend mentioning that he's introverted and stuff helped but I wish they'd mentioned that earlier. I also wonder if part of my problem is that I'm not buying the actor as lighthearted and funny (I don't know him from anything else).
  20. OK, I've joked that David's nosiness would get him in trouble but holy heck! Too Dumb To Live, for real. What did he accomplish, following that redhead, mouth agape? I hope he took notes (a second book!) so the team can have something to work with. Unfortunately, I think it's too late to give Weller a personality. All his humor and laughing felt uncomfortable and forced. And I feel like Jane has more chemistry with Tree Tattoo guy than Weller, and we barely know that guy/that relationship. (And the big dress reveal? Done better on Kyle XY, because Jaimie actually had chemistry [har har, if you know which episode I'm talking about] with her character's love interest). Maybe they're worried about burning through it too quickly but I'd really like them to get back to her past. That's why I tuned in, Jane and the mystery of her tattoos, not this awkward romance and constant shootouts. At some point during this episode, I started wondering if the third person involved in Daylight (forgot her name but she was Mayfair's girlfriend) spilled the beans to whatever group(s) are involved in tattooing Jane. Maybe she's the ringleader. So I'm confused, CIA guy had Guerrero shanked because... ? I know he didn't like Mayfair's plan but I can't remember why. Wish she'd get an upper hand somewhere because it's frustrating to see the head of the FBI constantly walked all over. Rich.com was a very entertaining guest baddie. Zapata's deadpan comments about the stupidity of his name were great. Also, while nice, I felt the camaraderie at the end was a bit too late as well... but I'm more open to them working on that than Weller's random smiles.
  21. Ooh, so Michael called Nadine. Wonder what dirt he has on the new detective. Loving Petra and Jane. I remember something about Jane and Rafael saying how having Petra at family holidays would be horrible but this first one turned out well. I'm sure something will happen (gotta keep Petra shady) but for now I'm excited, thinking about Jane helping her out when the twins come. Also, boo @ Magda telling Petra to get out of therapy. The writing class guy was kind of a jerk but I was happy she made a new friend... sucks that he's using her for a story. Jane's super anxious, "I'm floundering" thing is wearing thin for me. I know that's her personality but I need it dialed back, at least for a bit. Hopefully, with the time jumps and her conversation with Petra, she'll be a little less neurotic. I do prefer Jane/Michael (at the moment, anyway) but with them on the iciest of ice... I'm open to exploring Michael/Petra.
  22. I bingewatched the first season, so now I'm watching weekly. I don't know that this episode got me psyched for the rest of the season but I'm interested in the mystery of Simon's death, and who the domino organization is. Loving Liam's hairstyle this season. So Ophelia's ticked off? Whatever, bye (for now). The polo girl they're clearly setting up as his next love interest looks similar (he has a type, I guess), but she doesn't seem to be as annoyingly plucky and wide-eyed (nor shady like Gemma), so I'm good with her for the moment. I liked her having Liam hold her plate as she filled it up. Very Everwood season one with the security guy talking to his dead wife. I don't know that it'll work as well here. Because of his wife's comments, I'm thinking he's not doing Cyrus' bidding but then again, he did offer Liam a listening ear, which plays into Cyrus' plan. So happy Beck is single and hopefully getting with Eleanor! I'm sure we're supposed to be rooting for her and Jasper but I'm not into them at all. Unfortunately for me, I know that things with Beck will probably go south and she'll get with Jasper because she loves the drama or whatever. I don't really care for the maid but I liked her being tough for once. Wonder how she'll one up Cyrus. His daughters... will one of them get a total makeover thanks to plastic surgery? And what's the Queen up to, getting that anti-monarchy guy to court them? While the dominatrix/Queen's assistant looked hot, I really didn't need to see that dude gagged and in his underpants, haha. Also didn't need to see Cyrus chomping on the swan's neck. So the Queen and her mother know who this domino organization is, huh? Hmm. Won't say much about the post-episode teaser trailer except to say that if they really want to surprise people, they should have Liam hook up with some guy... what looked like Eleanor and another girl isn't at all unexpected, black sheep party girl that she is. But my eyebrows would raise over Liam/Jasper, lol.
  23. I really liked the Jane/Petra 2% friendship stuff... Petra's screwed her over so many times but I think it would be nice to see them becoming friendlier, if only for a little while (because Petra's a shady lady). Especially with her having Rafael's kid (or kids, if the promo for next week may have been suggesting), they'll be involved with each other for life, so it would be nice if they got to a good place. Milos is a nutter... I hope Petra finds that bug! Also, Petra's mom and the "be very wary" bit made me laugh. I thought this would be the #TeamMichael season, since it was more of a #TeamRafael show last season, so color me surprised that they went dark like that. Attacking Rafael while he was holding Mateo? Automatic fail right there. Happy Jane's going with #TeamMateo now because I think both guys are being jerks (with Michael crossing the line tonight). Rafael keeps playing the family card (didn't he break up with her while she was still pregnant? What happened to family then, bro?) and Michael's playing the "I've known you longer" card. They're both trying to make her make a choice and it's like, she just had a kid, back off. I'm not mad that they toyed with the triangle, but I'm happy they're (hopefully) putting it to rest for a while. I really think Michael screwed up here and I hope he can one day redeem himself with Jane because I really enjoy Brett and Brett/Gina. Also, I enjoyed them putting in some of Brett's acrobatics in the episode, lol. I remember seeing some Vines of his, flipping off of things. As for the twist at the end... I knew someone would be in the car, I just didn't know who. Gotta say, I'm kinda done with Nadine. At least Michael was discharged before he gets roped into this Sin Rostro mess. I'm not familiar with Britney's guest spots/acting so I don't know if this was good or bad for her, but I thought she was OK. I enjoyed the first Rogelio/Britney scene. "Goodbye Rogolio!" For me, what took away from things were all the song title references. They should have limited it to just two or three title drops, especially since the whole thing was already so camptastic.
  24. There are so many mysteries going on but this episode felt more focused. I enjoyed it, whereas I haven't been that interested (in doing anything but laughing) since maybe the second episode. If they just followed the Guerrero and Tree Guy stuff, I think I'd be happy. While I understand Patterson's reasons for not wanting David to move in, I wish she had said it earlier because when she said it at the end, it gave him a reason to feel superior when really, he shouldn't have been surprised that he was being dumped. He was super pushy and nosy, and nearly cost her her job. If he makes another appearance, I hope it's because he kept digging for information and got into trouble with some baddies (not that I hate him but he kinda deserves it)... or else, I'm not sure what his purpose was (other than to humanize Patterson, but she didn't need it as much as other characters do). If he was cleared, I guess that means he's not a spy... but maybe he's super underground. Weller smiling at Jane in the end was a nice change. If they reeled in his obsessiveness and showed him being friendlier with her, it could help sell this impending romance. That, and Jane not being treated like a child. I wish they'd established that Mayfair and Weller went way back, like she was his mentor when he first started out... it would help explain why she talks to him like an equal rather than as his boss ("It's time to discuss you stepping down from Jane's case" as opposed to, "you're off her case, deal with it #bye"), why she's telling him about Daylight. Liked Reade's humor and Zapata telling Weller what was up. The actor who played Guerrero was very entertaining. And count me in on the time travel possibility.
