    S05.E05: Self Help

I figured he just went nuts on the other people who probably posed a threat, but went too far, like he lost it. Like he lost it with Eugene. And just like Rosita, who was griping her rifle by the end of his beat down of Eugene, he scared his family, who probably weren’t used to that level of violence yet, so they were dumb and left him....aaaand didn’t even make it out of the parking lot. A warning that the building was full of sick people that should be left to die.

Because they were afraid of him. He killed four or five people with his bare hands, in front of them. Yeah, he found them just outside the store, half eaten. That's why he was going to kill himself, but Eugene came along. I get that they were afraid of him, but leaving him was really not a good plan.

They weren’t walkers, they were people. He killed like 5 people in front of them.

I heard a really ugly crack when he fell. I think he is screwed. I knew it was pretty likely that he was full of shit, but I hoped he wasn’t. Oh well. At least they will stop mentioning Washington DC now. I thought it was a meh episode. I think I only really liked Abraham's back story. I'm glad Eugene said he messed with the bus because I thought that was the lamest crash ever. So at least something caused it and it wasn't just Abe crashing on a half empty road. Lmao, today Maggie actually talked, but still... none for Beth.
  5. If Luisa hadn't screwed up and had inseminated her the baby would have been hers and Rafael's.

Because she was basically a slave. In the prison, for example, everyone had a job but there was a family vibe. At the hospital everyone but the cops were slaves with no autonomy, no chances of leaving, they could get a beating at any moment and if they were women like Beth they were bound to be raped over and over to keep the male cops happy.

I liked it just fine. I thought it started off slow, but it picked up when I realized what they were going for: Beth coming into her own and realizing her strength. If they did something similar with Carl, I thought it was good that they did it with beth. I just wish the supporting characters/actors were more charismatic. They were the ones that felt flat to me. The hospital setting didn't help. So cold and sterile.

From the cop when Joan was eating him.

Yeah but... how do you cut your wrist with only one hand? Slip her throat maybe? I couldn’t tell. I saw the scissors and figured she did something to herself, but wasn’t sure of what.

How exactly did Joan die, though?

Damn, I thought for sure Beth was a goner right before the cops captured her at the parking lot. I'm guessing Daryl is with Noah.
  12. I've thought this too. I'm latino so I am obviously not bothered by the fact that pretty much every character is latino, that they speak so much Spanish, etc. But it wouldn't surprise me if American audiences could get tired and/or not relate. Are they promoting it amongst latinos in the US? I noticed that the show even has a Spanish track, but I don't even know if it's being marketed right.
  13. I'm the other way around, I could've done without Michael. I'm gonna talk about the original, so I'll put in in spoiler tags just in case. For what is forth I'm not a big fan of Rafael either. Better alone, Jane! But Rafael was inescapable... Michael we could've done without.
  14. THIS. There are many reactions that Maggie could have, but they have to show them. Even a seemingly non-reaction would have been a reaction. Like if Glenn tries to comfort her and she seems over it, it could show that she is exhausted and numb and doesn't want to think about it anymore because not knowing is in a way worse than knowing that she died. Someone could be torturing beth or something at the moment, and they can't help her. That's awful. That's just an example, there could've been other reactions. But it's too big of an oversight not to address it at all. Maybe it was written and it was cut in the editing room. Regarding Beth, I like her just fine, I don't get the hate. I'll be shallow and say that I don't want her to die because she's a cutie (same goes for Tara), but she hasn't done anything that makes me sick of her or like I would be happy if she dies. So I hope she makes it out of wherever she is in one piece and is reunited with her group. It's sad that she will never get to have a real grown up life, and it would be even sadder if she doesn't get to have one at all. So I hope she does.
  15. Yes! I'm pretty surprised Jane is already feeling attracted to Rafael. It couldn't have been more obvious from minute one that they were going there, but I'm surprised because they're on episode 3. Anyway, I didn't like this episode too much. I was exhausted by Jane's BIG DILEMA dundundun regarding her virginity. It was just too much, even though there were some funny moments, like the scene at the church and the Rafael video at the room. Grrrrl, if you are freaking out so much about having sex, you are not ready. Also, wanting it to be perrrrfeeectt probably also means that you're not ready, imo. Her dad is pretty funny. The abuela losing her resolve when her favorite telenovela heartthrob was in front of her in full costume was funny too. I'm starting to get over Michael, I don't like the actor too much. Same with Rafael, but at least he gets less screentime - for now. Luisa and Rose can keep doing what they're doing. Jeje. Anyway, the show still has funny moments, but I'm dreading the possible continued focus on Jane's oh so precious virginity. For the record, I have no problems with waiting till you're married. I just don't think it's that big a deal either way. Yes. Totally. She can walk!
  16. I tumbled upon a NZ promo for the next episode that has a lot of different footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk5wV7FK8zs Looks like it will be pretty Beth centric, and she will be trying hard to help herself, so yay! I like Beth, I still hope she doesn't die.
  17. The congregation called the walkers attention by screaming at Gabriel, so I guess they were there a while before the walkers came. Yet no one thought to break the door, apparently.
  18. Martin just broke the door like it was nothing, and in they were. The first thing I thought was how come his congregation didn’t do that?
  19. Martinez and his family were in season one. When Rick and Co decide to go to the CDC they decide to go elsewhere. I don't remember where. A military base, maybe?
  20. I want them to give them ONE episode of this Washington thing, then be done. Either get there and find out and find that it's all gone, or find out that Eugene is lying, or it's true or whatever. I don't care. But repeating the same scene over and over, about WashingtonWashingtonWashington is getting old. I feel like Abe has repeated the same scene a few times by now.
  21. Well, some big stuff they spoiled for ep 3 didn't happen, so let's hope they're full of crap. I don't want Beth to die. :'(
  22. I thought what got to them was the violence of it, not that Rick and Co killed them.
