  1. I liked that they acknowledged that Jane and Michael were a good couple at some point. The lack of that was bothering me. But I don't like that a boring love triangle is on the horizon again. It was to be expected, I guess. Xo and Jane's tests were pretty bad and cringey. But it bothered me a lot that the whole thing was all on Xo when Rogelio can/should wear condoms too. Also, I didn't find Rogelio's reaction believable. This was the guy who was so excited about Jane. I know Jane was grown up, but Rogelio is so narcissistic that he would LOVE the idea of a mini me running around. The moment I saw the employees watching it, I just KNEW that Petra had released the sex tape herself so Lachlan would have no power over her. I loved it! And I was glad to see that Rafael didn't go along with Lachlan's gross plan. However, much like the acknowledgement of Jane and Michael's past, Rafael and Petra working together smells like love triangle? Square? And Aaron freaks me out. Can they just reveal already that he's Roman or something?
  2. Well damn, I thought this was pretty boring. And Norman is getting to be way too creeptastic for my taste. I know that's part of the point of the show, but tonight it felt like the scale is starting to lean more towards creep and less towards sweet Norman. Meh. Poor Emma. Run, Emma, run! Or like, get in the car and press the gas real hard!
  3. LMAO, this show has the most insane baby plot ever. I love it! I thought the baby opening its eyes and having them being silver was a neat image. The baby is supposed to be like 15 months already, maybe it is playing catch up now and that is why its growing to fast. But I spent the episode wondering wtf exactly Sarah was planning to do with her baby. She thought it was alive, but like... alive how she saw it? Or alive how it should have been inside of her? Did she want a blob of cells in a jar or something? lol My thoughts exactly. She is all evil maniac villain now, but she has no one to reign over. Maybe the plan is to venture out into the world once she is immortal. Oooooh. Well that is an interesting theory. We do not know how any of them became immortal. I agree with the others: Caleb is either that superhero kid or Sarahs baby. I kind of hope present day Julia arrives at the island soon. And fuck Alan. Goodness gracious, we're on episode 8 and he is still playing coy and not telling us why the fuck he is there. I understand from a story point of view why it makes sense to hide that information till the right moment, but it makes him look like an asshole. There is no reason within the story why he should keep his mouth shut even now.
  4. Yeah, that s why they made a point of making the peasant and the kid really really blonde, their hair was almost white. And the peasants yelled something at Michael, which I missed. I think being alive for hundreds of years might make anyone crazy. I thought the little superman boy was gonna be the grown up guy Julia met in the future, but then Michael gave him the poison. We didn't see him die, though, so it might still be him, I guess. Maybe he spits it out or something. I think it all goes back to that, yeah, to him not wanting other men to impregnate his women or something. But, has it really been established that he's not working with Ilyria? I don't even remember anymore, but I thought that was at least a connection between S1 and S2, that both places were involved with Ilyria's desire to "thin the herd". If he's working on his own, there goes that theory. Was it Michael who sent for Sarah? Damn i don't remember half of what happens in this show anymore. I just kept thinking that they could've, I don't know, ASKED Sarah about her immortality first instead of going straight for the forced abortion. What the fuck is up with the teeth? I am so tired of Alan's face and Alan's voice and his beard and his everything. What a tedious character. Can Kyle take over, please?
  5. Nobody bothered to explain, but since Brittany and Sue brought tuxedos and rings as well, maybe Brittany invited her as part of her secret plan to marry him and Kurt. The real question for me where were Santana's and Blaine's fathers.
  6. I've never watched friends, so I don't get the references, but I too think that the forced disappearance of Finn definitely affected Klaine and Brittana because they were the only important couples left, so they got more focus ultimately.I highly doubt that with Finn and Finchel around Brittana would've gotten as much focus this season, for example. But it affected them differently: I think they had more interest in Klaine so they actually made the effort to give them storylines and conflict, but the storylines sucked because this is Glee. Because they never cared much for Brittana when they no longer knew what to do with them, they just slapped them together with little effort and just gave them corny lines. Even the abuela storyline was left over from back in the day, and getting married is a non story... you just get married. So no effort there. Ironically, Brittana definitely ended up wining, though. IMO.
  7. I'm not surprised no one checked because no one would question what Michael said. I did wonder, though, how come Agnes was the only old lady on the wall and how come she didn't get a picture when she was younger. That's what I would want if my photo was meant to go on some wall to be remembered forever. I think Julia mentioned, or tried to mention, some plan of hers that would work in like 200 years and they didn't want it. Killing 75% of the world is not only cruel but super stupid. The first think I thought about was how could people deal with all the bodies? Just a mess, mess, mess. They are not that smart, those immortal people. Other thoughts *Alan and Julia's scene was one of the most un-sexy I have seen. Alan is just not sexy and just killed it. *Peter can stay in the pit. *I feel like the season is losing steam. The only thing I'm curious about right now is what Michael will do about immortal!pregnant!Sarah now. I wonder if he can figure out a way to bring that baby to term.
  8. So, I sort of watched this. Skimmed some parts though. I thought it wasn't as terrible as I was expecting, though it was sooo fanfic-y and it definitely had cringe-y moments. I guess I give them props for having an episode revolving around two gay weddings and I do think in this last season they have made the effort to let them act more like actual couples, specially Brittana. I remember back in the day when Brittany and Santana were dating and were barely allowed to talk, let alone kiss. Still, I can't really be all "yay!" because I still can't get behind either couple. Klaine- LMAO they couldn't even stand to live together for a few months and now they're married? And that's without counting all the fucked up stuff they have shown with them over the years, which I'm kinda not in the mood to go over, but were no little issues. Brittana- Even though they have been trying to retcon Brittany lately, trying to say that she just has a weird brain and look she's really a genius, that is BS, imo. Brit spent mos of the series alternating between looking like she was high and, even worse, being a toddler-woman and it was creepy to see her in any relationship. The more recent version of Brittany is more tolerable and they seem to have made her parents the weirdos we laugh at the moment, instead of her, but I still remember that. And, even worse, Santana still becomes absolutely alienated and only allowed to speak to Brittany when they're together. My little Pezberry/Quinntana heart mourns that we got none of that this ep. Sigh. Still, making Brittany somewhat more tolerable made this whole wedding business a bit more tolerable as well. Cringey parts: *Brittany and, specially Santana, being so into Klaine getting married too, specially when Brittany talked about what an inspiration they were to her. Gross. Plus, Kurt was totally right: there was no way in hell Santana would let anyone steal her thunder on her wedding day, though I guess that because it was Brittany who wanted it that makes a little more sense. *The OTP reference. No. Just no. Oh, and my face mirrored Santana's when Brittany started talking about how they had the same anniversary and whatever, but because I feared Brittany was going to say she wanted Klaine to father their babies and... NO. Just no.
  9. Oh wow. I haven't caught up with the eps yet.
  10. Oh, man, aquarian, this is not a show one can nitpick. It just doesn't make sense. Just go with the flow. I will say, though, that they don't want to limit the immortals to 500, they ARE 500 already. They have not explained yet how they became immortal, but they seem like a set number. Julia wasn't immortal, Hatake made her when he injected that liquid into her. His spinal fluid I think it was, or something like that.
  11. I don't understand why they are doing a baby shower when Jane is supposed to be how many months? Not even six, I think. Hell, maybe not even 5. Wasn't she like 20 weeks or something in the episode before this, the one about the amnio? 1. I think the voice was Bridget. 2. I thought so too. His scene with Petra was the one that made him look dodgy to me. I was buying him until then. But there was something off in him then. Almost like he enjoyed seeing Petra freaked out. They better not! They better not!
  12. I think she loves Rose for real, and Rose loves HER for real. When Michael was interrogating Luisa she already knew who Rose was and that she killed Emilio, yet she was beaming while telling her story, and the narrator was all "and then Luisa proceeded to tell the greatest love story ever told" or something along those lines, which implied that that's how Luisa sees their affair. Luisa is kind of nutty, to be honest. But she's endearing so I forgive her. Just like Rose is evil, but her loving Luisa redeems her some for me. And Petra can be awful, but has also known fear and abuse, so I go from "what a Bitch!" to "Poor Petra" all the time. And Rogelio can be sooo in love with himself, but it's endearing how much it matters to him that Jane is his daughter. Etc and Etc. This series is pretty good at characters, I think.
  13. No, I'm pretty sure he posed it as a question. Like "how come were are not seeing her face? Oooh, maybe she changed it?" or something like that. It's pretty obvious she changed her look (at the very least has shorter blonde hair now), but I'm hoping they didn't change Rose's face. I would cry. Metaphorically. this is actually a pretty good theory.
  14. I tend to like villains if they write them well, so I overall don't hate Petra. I actually liked her when she came back triumphant and fired the Gabriel guy. But she does get me to go from "what a bitch!" to "poor Petra!" a lot. She has been one of the surprises to me. When she was first introduced I thought she was going to be so flat and boring. With no majority he would've had to be fighting Petra all the time and would have no power over her to shut her down. Getting Luisa's shares gave him that power and then Petra couldn't be able to overcome him. I'm glad Luisa just gave Petra her voting powers not the actual shares, tho. That would've been too much. What irked me, however, wasn't that Rafael wanted the shares so bad, but that they ignored the fact that the Marbella is just ONE of their hotels, no? That's what I understood, that it was one of his father's hotels, and he threw it Rafael's way so he could prove himself. So he could literally tell Petra to shove it up her ass and just move on to the next. Now, I know they wouldn't do that because the show is set there, but I'm a nitpicker and think about details like that. There's something off about that Aaron guy, but I don't know if he's Zaz. The whole deal with Rafael paying his ransom money makes me doubt, unless that was himself getting money out of Rafael. Anyway, this was such a great episode! It was really packed and they really went for the laughs. The telenovela gags were really funny. I was meh on the Rafael-Jane plot, mainly because I kept thinking that Jane checking the room was a matter of curiosity and not some BIG ISSUE OF TRUST DUN DUN DUN. Maybe it's because I'm a curious person, too, and I wouldn't have been able to resist. Kind of lukewarm on Luisa and Rose after this episode. Actually, not lukewarm, but conflicted. If only Rose wasn't an evil criminal who had her committed and killed her father! *sobs* I did like a lot that her feelings for Luisa were real and I liked their backstory, though Rose's wig was so painful to look at today. They better not change Bridget, tho! No, no, no. Do not want. And I was so happy that it was plainly stated that Rose was a lesbian. That doesn't always happen, and I didn't expect it. So, thanks, show. I read somewhere that the actresses were juggling Jane with other projects, and I gotta say that it feels like their storyline is dictated by their schedules or something. Come and go, come and go, come and go...

I keep watching because I like zombie stuff and I did like this show at some point, so I keep hoping that it will be better again. But this episode was my peak moment, I actually got so bored that I got the computer out and started surfing. Also, this is like the only zombie show right now that I know of, unless you count Helix, so I keep hoping I can like it again, but no. Also, there is something called hate watch which I'm sure some other people do as well, like with all shows. Though this is not the case for me. It bores me too much to incite hate. Damn the last episode I really liked was like S5E01.

Maggie shutting down and burying her feelings is an actual action, an actual beat, that they didn't bother showing. Ways to show those beats? A small conversation with Glenn, when he wants so talk to her about how she is after everything and she just ignores him or answers something that implies that she is, in fact, supressing her feelings because she can't afford to let herself feel it. Actually focusing on her when Daryl said Beth was alive, and showing us in her reaction all the crap that she mentioned last night about thinking she had died, and then hoping she was there and whatever. A small mention of her sister to someone before remembering that she will never see her again, and shutting down on the topic. Imagine seeing NO reaction from Rick and Carl to losing Judith. They didn't dwell on it over and over and over, but it was acknowledged. Or better yet, look at Sasha's plot last night. She wasn't sitting around crying after losing her brother and bob, but she had a reaction. She was pissed off and reckless. And it was acknowledged in a way that made sense, just after it happened. But it took them like a season to do it with Maggie, I guess because they decided to throw all the Beth related stuff to Daryl and just forgot or something. I think the criticism they got for the oversight was spot on. I want to think that it was scripted but just got cut out in the editing room or something.

Wait, Rosita? Damn, I'm starting to forget some names because they barely speak!

    S05.E10: Them

I thought they were trying to show it as being some miraculous thing. They were at their absolute worst during this episode, completely hopeless, but in the end they learned that they wanted to live and there can still be hope... sunrises can still be beautiful, miracles can still happen, music thingys can still work and produce pretty music...

I didn't think they were thinking that she needed an emmy scene, I just wondered when the episode was shot, if they had time to read people complaining about that lol. I agree with the rest, though. We don't need to see everything the characters do, but we do need to see important moments of their arcs, and reactions that make sense to given situations. With Maggie it just seemed like they forgot for a bunch of episodes and were trying to retcon it in the last one. Yesss, she was suffering so much for Hershel and Beth during her obsessive and triumphant return to Glen, and today's breakdown was totally a long time coming. Sure, sure. Next up: Anita has spent all this time secretly boning Eugene and not knowing if he or Abe is the father of her unborn child. She will tell us all about what has been going on in a poignant scene and it will be terrific writing. /sarcasm

When Daryl finally breaks down about Beth I thought was that it was supposed to be such a poignant moment, but I was just distracted by how he looked like he had spent the last three weeks crying himself to sleep, his eyes were so swollen. Yeah, nothing came of it, but the make up people made the effort to be consistent and he had the slash in every scene after. I thought it was a huge oversight.

Speaking of this... did my eyes deceive me or did Deathwish!Sasha accidentally slash Abraham's arm with a walker-bloody knife and no one commented on it? That has to be as bad as a bite!
  22. Same! But it is that feeling of "what is doing on?! I don't understand anything! Okay I'm gonna watch one more episode to see if I figure it out then" which keeps me going back, so I guess it's a sort of successful approach to writing this show. So Sarah is still pregnant? Color me surprised! I really thought it was done for. Maybe Michael can help her figure out how to get that baby to term. Sad to see older lady go. Michael obviously didn't count on her babbling to Amy. Peter and Alan are so annoying. Separately and together. They should magically cancel each other out and just disappear. Julia's plot feels like the companion webseries to the show or something. It feels weird. Does anyone know of a place where they upload the promos? This week I can't find next week's episode promo, again. ETA: Never mind I just found it.

    S05.E10: Them

This THIS tHIS THIIIIISSS. I think this episode was my Walking Dead I-can't-take-this-anymore episode. It encapsulated everything wrong with this show. It is possible to have character internal plots AND outside plots that keep the tension. Not only possible, but preferable. They just spent yet another bloody episode emoting and emoting and talking and talking and brooding. They are in a zombie apocalypse. They are tired and hopeless. This is not brand new information. I learned nothing new yet the whole episode was this crap, plus the sprinkled pretentiousness of the symbolism of the new dawn and the brooding ones being the first ones that wanted to live. This show has become like those boring, pretentious Oscar nominated movies that critics rave about but I find utterly sleep inducing. Every week I want to give it a chance, but walk away just as bored and frustrated.
