  1. Oh my! So meaningful and philosophical! the brooding ones of the episode were the first ones that wanted to live! Deep! Totally make up for the 40 minutes of yapping. Not really.
  2. It's like they don't even bother with actual external plots most the the time, plots that have twists and turns and fucking tension. Just feelings, and feelings, and feelings and feelings, and everybody has feelings so they need to brood and just talk and talk or NOT talk. Please STOOOOOP. Bored, now.
  3. I feel like they have been walking that stretch of road for like years now.
  4. Just to clarify, I wasn't giving an opinion on whether or not their approach to Finn's death in light of Cory's death was the right or wrong one. I just meant that I noticed that their MO seemed to lean more towards pretending that Finn didn't exist, I guess to avoid awkwardness or real life pain given that Cory died. I do disagree with them never saying how he died, though. That was just weird, imo.
  5. I haven't watched the episode, but I am not surprised by the erasure of Finn. It's more of less what they have been trying to do since he died, IMO. They never even bothered to say HOW he died. I got the impression that killing him off was just something they needed to get out of the way and then they wanted to move on from him because given Cory's death it's too awful or awkward to dwell on Finn, specially where Rachel is concerned. I bet that if Finn had died, but Cory was fine, his death would've been pretty huge on the show, with Rachel suffering for him for episodes on end and maybe even going on a darker path or something. not just getting a tattoo and having a sad face occasionally.
  6. It was disappointing to me that we saw so little of Rose after that big reveal. Love that hair porn at least! I thought this episode was kind of meh.
  7. I thought this episode was meh. It felt like emotional manipulation to me, but it didn't work with me because I kept thinking that none of the relationships they were trying to use to bring up the feeeelssss had any sort of resonance. We literally saw like one scene with Tryrese and his dead girlfriend. Did he even talk to beth on screen? Did he ever bond with bob? Maybe my memory is super spotty, but I honestly don't remember any of that happening. Same thing happened with Rick and the gang talking about what a blow beth's death was and how they made the trip for her. Meanwhile, the right relationships, like Carol and Tryesee or Daryl and Beth weren't really explored. I did like the car scene in the end, when he died. And now that I think about it, it was kind of telling of how the show is developing towards a much harsher world, I guess. The ones in the car were all the "weak" ones or the more upbeat ones. There's no more place in the world for people like them.
  8. I think the fetus is dead because of the same reason that Hatake MIGHT die from his injury: because they are immortal and can live forever if nothing happens to them, but a catastrophic injury could kill them if it doesn't give them enough time to heal themselves. In the case of the baby, tiny tiny few days old at most, that knife would've destroyed it completely, no? Now, how I reached this conclusion about the rules of immortality I don't remember because my memory sucks, but that's what I understood from last season. But I think the baby was probably supposed to be immortal and she was gonna be pregnant forever, which is why she just happened to be stabbed in the gut so they could write it out.
  9. I gotta give them credit. This was the most original wrap up to a pregnancy that I have seen. Kind of nutty, but original nonetheless. I wouldn't be 100% that Hatake is dead. I wasn't a fan of him last season, but I loved crazy Hatake this season.
  10. Never in a million years would I have thought we would get to this, to Brittana getting focus and the show trying to do them justice. Still... no thank you. Brittany may be less annoying this year and more like a person, at least, but whenever they try to act coupley I find them really fake. Also, I wish Santana was allowed to talk to other people besides Brittany, agaaaain. This is why I was so happy when they broke up. I hope Santana has one last moment with Rachel and Kurt and Quinn (preferably Rachel and Quinn) before she rides off into the sunset at least, which I guess will be in their wedding episode, whenever that is. On an unrelated note: it was so weird to see the Emma stand- in . Better not do Will home scenes if they can't get the actress, imo.
  11. Yep, they are. My love for Elaine Cassidy started with Maud Lilly. What a great character that was. I think this season made Katherine a bit less interesting and Elaine couldn't shine as much, though. THIS!!!! I thought they ended Moray and Denise really well. They didn't sacrifice her for the happy ending, and her having a cosmetics company was a great idea because she would not be in direct competition with TP, but instead doing her own thing. This part of the finale I liked, though I found Moray's ending confusing. Like... are he and Tom co-owners now? Katherine's ending was absolutely tragic. I was hoping she was going to run away with Flora or Tom would die or something, but no. I wish her ending had been painted as tragic as it was, and not in this weird hopeful? way. Poor Katherine went from being someone, her own person adored by her father, to losing EVERYTHING and becoming absorbed by some dude she barely knows and who turned out to be a scary bastard. Now her money is not her own, she has no freedom or autonomy, Tom will forever be jealous and scary and having a million mistresses, and there is nowhere for her to go. Now that she will have her own kid she will be even more trapped. It's probably a realistic portrait of the times though, but I wish someone had pointed out how fucked up it was. Everytime Tom said the Paradise was his it bothered me so much because it was because women were nothing then and everything hers became his. It was really fucked up how he was so arrogant about owning the Paradise when he only owned it because Moray built it up, his father in law bought it with his made fortune and he married Katherine who got it from his father. He should've been ashamed, frankly, to be benefiting from other people's efforts.
  12. I know the show is OTT, but for me it would just be too much. Sin Rostro, a big bad drug lord, making himself into a woman and then proceeding to spend how much time having sex with some dude he doesn't even like? To a powerful drug lord dude that would be way too humiliating. And that's without counting that Luisa is a gynecologist/obstetrician, and I hope she would be able to tell the difference. Rose probably did change her face herself, though. Maybe Sin Rostro was a woman all along and the police assumed she was a man.
  13. The thing is that in this particular case the whole thing wasn't about Luisa being an alcoholic. She was upset because she walked in on her wife cheating on her. That's why she screwed up and inseminated Jane, not because of her addiction. And if she didn't tell Rafael it wasn't because of her addiction either, it was because she was scared. Rafael speaks like he trusted her and put the hotel on the line for her, but she screwed up because she's an addict and now he's over her... but that's not how it went. It's something else to be mad at her for disappearing and going on a drink binge and barely making court, or thinking she's a drunk and that's why she was spreading lies about Rose, but it seems like his anger goes back to her initial mistakes, which had nothing to do with drinking. It annoys me and I keep wanting Luisa to explain WHY she messed up with Jane. It's like the show forgot or something. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Do not want! Do not want! I think Rafael is safe as long as he doesn't get too close to the truth. Maybe if he keeps digging she will try to frame him too, though.
  14. I think he wanted to keep her scared so she would depend on him more and more, and then have her controlled... either because he's still genuinely into her or because he wants revenge.
  15. She was a Puerto Rican beauty queen, actually. She was Miss Puerto Rico, participated in Miss Universe representing PR in 1967. I think she has been working steadily since then, first in PR and then in US.
  16. Well, damn! Since she had Luisa committed I thought that Rose was either Sin Rostro or someone working undercover to get Sin Rostro. There had to be a reason why she was so against leaving the hotel that she would have Luisa committed. But damn, I didn't expect her to be that cold! Emilio's death was a horrible way to go and he hadn't really done anything to deserve it. I gotta give the show props: this is how you work a mystery. You weave it in such a way that when we're watching the hints we're not sure and overlook things, but then when it's revealed it all makes sense. Well done. Is Rose's whistling her version of "evil laugh"? lol. Petra has won me over. I didn't even like the actress at first, but now she's one of my favourites. I thought it was cute how Jane is so nice that she just couldn't help herself and had to comfort her. Rafael is right about her being so trusting, but I think she was right in tonight's cases: I think both Petra and Luisa were being genuine. I figured Rogelio's assistant had helped in his firing from the show, but I was surprised by how responsible he was. Turns out Rogelio wasn't that terrible to work with, apparently. Still, I hope the show tanks. It's stupid to get rid of your star to put in an untested nobody just cause you're screwing him. The death scene was pretty great, and I was glad to see Jane call Rogelio dad. He continues to be a lot of fun. Jane and Rafael are still working, and I'm surprised by how long they have managed to make them work. Usually when shows get couples together they start throwing drama their way right away because they don't know how to show them in a more day to day capacity. I don't think Emilio was in on anything. He seemed clueless. ALWAYS seemed clueless, all through the show. I don't think we ever got to see his POV ever, so I've always thought he was just a disposable piece. It's why I never thought he was SR. I'm not sure Rose is smuggling drugs either. I think she is not the original Sin Rostro, but Sin Rostro v. 2.0. Maybe Sin Rostro was her dad or something? I don't know, but we know the big bad drug dealer disappeared for 5 years and then the cops heard stuff about him coming back, but the only thing they have found in the hotel is the plastic surgeries, so that seems to be her thing, not drugs. We have half a season for those things to be revealed, I guess. I don't think putting Emilio in cement was planned either. I think her plan was to set him up as Sin Rostro, which is why she was so after Rafael, insisting to go to the Police. But Emilio messed with her plans by wanting her to go with him that night, so she reacted. The cement thing was there because there were workers there during the day. Maybe IRL that shit would harden when left alone, but it's telenovela, so we can go with the flow this time, lol. Rose seems to be more of an impulsive murderer than a planner, I think. Killing a guy with a corkscrew seems impulsive too. For what it's worth, I think she cares about Luisa for real because otherwise she would've just killed her to shut her up. Sooo, yay? One thing that doesn't fit, though: Rose was with the rest of the public when Zaz was impaled in the ice sculpture. Did someone else kill him or had they just not decided that Rose was Sin Rostro then? Maybe it was Magda, to protect Petra. Pushing people may be her thing.
  17. I've watched the first 4 eps of season two. I'm liking it so far. It's not the type of show that I would binge watch, but watching them one at a time is entertaining enough. I really continue to love Katherine. Maybe it's my fangirling over Elaine Cassidy, but she really gets to me. I think giving her a kid was a brilliant way to give her the great dichotomy of villain and mother. She spoils Flora too much, though. I wish they would tell us more about how she married Tom. I assume she was on the rebound and he was the first guy that came along, and that Tom was just after her money, but it's weird to not see what brought them together. Speculating is not the same as knowing for sure. Tom is a scary dude and I fear what he will do to Katherine as the season progresses. Moray continues to be beneath both Katherine and Denise. He's even more useless this season than season one, I think. I like Dudley way more and kind of ship him with all the girls he interacts with. Shame he's married. I loved how he handled Katherine when she was upset over Flora leaving to go to school. I like that the show dealt with some feminist issues, but I wish the lesbian had been interested in Clara instead of Denise. I like Clara and she's been doing nothing this season. Moray is beneath her, too, so I'm glad that she's not pining over him this season, at least. I also liked Katherine talking/thinking about her lack of education because she's so frivolous, I thought it was interesting. Sadly that seems to have been dropped and she will continue to be all about Moray Moray Moray, again. She was sort of ruined in the last bit of season 1, I fear they will do it again. Though Tom seems like he will be the real villain of the season. He's a great character, though. And the actor is pretty good.
  18. Is there a 2x04 promo anywhere? I can't seem to find it.
  19. Holy meta, meta, meta everywhere! Wow! "If you're gonna go lezzie with a Cheerleader, I think the world is rooting for you and Quinn Fabray". Sue and Becky pretty much parroting discussions between pro and anti Klaine fans online.... Okay, the Sue-Saw doll was funny until she she wanted to make them kiss. That was creepy. Wait, ND didn't have 12 members, did they?
  20. SO. MUCH. SUE. STOOOOOP, SHOW! STOOOOOOOP! Rachel and Sam, lmao. Glee has officially become fanfiction, hasn't it? What are they doing with Karofsky? What is this, seriously? He's like a caricature now. Though I think it's the acting as much as the writing. He was better in the date with Blaine, but the bear scene... ay, ay, ay. I'm guessing that the actress who plays Emma isn't available, but it's weird that Will is married and with a kid, but we don't see his wife. I am lactating with rage! They wasted "Bitch" on fucking Sue! Auuugh!!! I kind of give them points for the way they have chosen to get Blaine and Kurt back together, using Sue. It's so ridiculous and out there that I'm sure no one could possibly see that one coming. Rachel is looking really, really, really cute this season. I like the creepy twins a lot. That Sue rant to Will was even worse than Santana's to Kurt. Too long and too "who the hell cares what you say you are insane and repetitive, so shut up, Sue". Kurt and Blaine: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Yes, Walter and Kurt: Golden Girls IS the greatest sitcom of all time. I really hate this like the whole "someone pits friends against each other" plot. I always find it very annoying, no matter which show uses it.
  21. Holy Brittana pandering! Guess it's easy to just go back to basics, specially since they never really seemed to know what to do with them when they were away from each other. Lazy writing is good for that fandom, I guess. At least Brittany is acting more like an actual person, so yay? Oh, and I like that Santana wants to go back to college. I was never on board with her being the one to skip college to try to be famous. Kurt deserved to be called out by Santana for ruining what was supposed to be a special moment. The rant was just too long and unfunny, though. I cannot express enough how angry the Beiste storyline made me. Basically, this. Butch women are literally invisible in TV/Movies/Pop culture. When people think of butches, they tend to think "ugly", "aggressive" "gross" "lesbian" "bulldyke" and stuff along those lines. They have no place in media because they are not seen as attractive, specially by men. With Beiste they purposely wanted to turn all of that around: she was butch on the outside but saw herself as just another girl. She was straight. She was one of the sweetest people on the show, so much so that her husband took advantage of her and was abusive. But apparently it's not enough that women can't be gender nonconforming in media now, so those types of women barely exist. No, now they have to be "men inside". Fuck you, Glee. Dave and Blaine are just weird. And the Max is playing him really weirdly, too. It feels really fake. Warbler girl needs more screentime. She's so adorable. Can Kurt stop wearing those hankies around his neck, please? Kurt and blaine zzzzz Are Quinn and Puck still together? Eww.
  22. The picture is fuzzy because they were showing us that Hatake is crazy, I think. His hair grew... does that mean Sarah's baby would grow too and be born sometime in the next 300 years? I agree. If they are so set on repeating the pattern of the unknown sickness they must figure out, then fuck everything and just do a new story each season in different settings. Right now it feels like a weird hybrid. Overall I'm annoyed because they want to be sooo mysterious that they're trying too hard and I bet nothing will make sense in the end. Again. But whatever, at this point I'm watching to see how WTF it can get. And for Julia's face. Is Peter still evil? I hope so cause otherwise holy brain transplant. And to whoever asked upthread: yes, Sarah has spent 15 months with morning sickness and shit. She told Alan in the last episode.
  23. So I finally got around to watching these eps on hulu. Meh. I think that for the first time in years the show has a clear purpose, which is why the writing seems a bit tighter. However, it feels like the last two seasons were for nothing and TPTB continue to be obsessed with repeating the same patterns for all eternity: Sue, McKinley, Glee club sucks, Dalton, Warblers, blablablabla. Zzzzzz. Even though it's quite obvious that there will be a comeback in the end of the season, it's stupid and sucks that we never actually got to see the things we were looking forward to. Or at least I was. Rachel will become a star off screen anyway. Might as well have just not taken the show to NY ever and stay in McKinley if they were so into it. Now they are repeating season 4 trying to recreate the Glee club AGAIN and zzzz. Sue as the villain for the billionth time and trying to infiltrate the Glee club with a spy couldn't suck more, btw. And postmodern gay dude is gay villain # what now? For RM and company it seems like breaking stereotypes means making people into assholes rather than making them interesting characters. They do the same with Becky. The new kids are better than S4 new kids, at least. I think I like all of them, except the new try hard gay character. And Will's kid is cute. The storyline that bothered me the most was the one about the chick Warbler, btw. When women weren't allowed to study anywhere it made sense that they would try to enter all male schools and claim how unfair it was that they couldn't... because all schools were male schools. Now there are all male schools, all female schools and mixed schools. I don't think it's cool that she wanted to intrude in the one place where she was not welcome. It bothered me even more that the show painted the Warblers in the wrong and Blaine as the saviour against injustices in this case. I would say the same thing if it was a boy wanting to intrude in an all girls school. Having said that, Warbler chick was adorable and I was glad that she went to Mckinley. Another thing I didn't like was that we heard zero about the graduates lives. Did nothing happen to them in the last year or something? Reminded them of season 4 and how they were just pawns to build up the newbies. I don't even remember what Tina is studying. Maybe they will stick around and we'll find out more stuff.
  24. I think that would have been a happy ending, and not all stories have them. My problem with the finale is that it felt like they pulled it out of their ass and it made little sense. Galavant as the title hero super sucks and couldn't even fix anything or be in control of his own destiny. His ending had nothing to do with choices he made or anything of the sort. Gareth had to come to save the day, while Galavant kept going around in circles for like three episodes straight. Richard's brother was equally useless and we never got to see him in scary evil mode to justify his reputation. Richard's attempts at growth were stopped in their tracks and, like Galavant, his ending wasn't really in his hands. And that's not mentioning the creepy cousin/fiancé. The only things that worked for me because they actually were payoffs of the season were Madalena getting control and Gareth showing that he loves Richard. Everything else seemed thrown there for the sake of clinffhangers. I also liked the image of Madalena and Gareth sitting side by side on the thrones. Not saying I wasn't entertained by the episodes, I was. But they were pretty nonsensical to me. It's weird that Richard and Madalena never had sex, so I bet if there is ever more episodes/a wrap up Madalena will lose everything because Richard gets the marriage annulled cause it was never consummated. Or something like that.
  25. I guess I have a hard time buying it because I have never seen someone flip a switch after someone hurt them and then move on immediately. Hell, it would be better if people did do that, so they could save themselves from being even more hurt later. What I have seen time and time again (including in myself) is confusion, pain, not being able to let go, missing the person even after you have let them go... so the only thing that makes more sense to me is that she didn't love him really and was already waiting for an excuse to ease her guilt and go to Rafael. But I find that problematic because Jane/Michael weren't shown as being on their last legs when the show started, like Rafael and Petra were. So I find the whole thing weird, specially because Jane is... goody two shoes Jane. Jane and Rafael irk me because I find them really unrealistic. They are basically strangers from different worlds who jumped into a relationship and just happened to click so much that now they don't even fight because they can always so maturely find middle ground. Adding: not to say that I don't find Jane and Rafael cute. I do. And I think they have good chemistry. I just find the writing irksome.
