I agree with you. I just want to note that Meri did have all those bonus children, because it undermines the façade of the one, big, cohesive, plural family that the Browns try to pitch. Christine did raise Janelle's children as her own and has said that her own children admire Janelle tremendously. (I even think the most blatant sibling rivalry is between Maddie and Mykelti.) But, Meri lived with the walls that she put up, alienated and antagonized everyone else. The one that she could control the longest, with the least immediate repercussion, was her own child.

This. How can he be on this show and hold an office? All these groups act like polygamy is legal anywhere. And, in Marcus' case, he's living in Florida and traveling to North Carolina, while serving Ohio. Surely, there must be some residency requirement for his public office. If so, he's barely scraping or not meeting the minimum number of days required in his primary residence. I forget the town that he works for, but it's not top-tier. Maybe he should focus on his job more.

So, out of the 10 years of marriage, they may have been physically apart for nearly half. Also - why isn't he thrusting the bra-buying girlfriend into their post-marriage friendship?

I guess that this scene is supposed to give Mohammed more depth. But, it just makes him more repulsive and entitled.
