No, he got thrown down a shaft and there was vapor and light. dispersed. Darth Maul survived. Getting cut in half. Luke went down a shaft (possible suicide attempt) but still survived. Anakin got his limbs cut off and third degree burns and still survived with the help of Palpatine and his minions and fabulous bionic technology. Why is it so unbelievable that Sidious with his Sith cult wouldn't be able to survive. He survived Mace trying to kill him. The dude has resources for goodness sake, and he has paramount powers. After all the crazy shit this series has thrown at us in 42 years it's just way too late in the game to be calling for "things that make sense." And as for undoing things like Chewbacca (which was straight out of Raiders) they didn't undo Leia, Ben, and at last, Palpatine. At least not yet. I wouldn't bet against him. How much of a body count do you want? It's not Vikings or GOT. It's a film series inspired by afternoon serials. If they had killed Chewie I would have rioted!

yeah, well, there's the whole problem in a nutshell. You're not properly engaged. Go write your own story. You're not in charge of this one. Yoda would give you the same advice.

Anakin survived Mustafar with the help of Darth Sidious and extensive surgery from the finest doctors of the Republic. Luke survived Bespin because HE contacted Leia and she came back for him. Both of these survivals were explained IN MOVIE, and not only that they were explained in the SAME MOVIE that the trauma happened in. Also neither of these people survived and then decided to lay low for 30 years biding their time on a plan that made no sense. Sci-Fi and Fantasy isn't an explanation or an excuse for lazy storytelling. Nope. Not needed. Don't need to be spoon fed. I can extrapolate. I've seen it before. If you can't extrapolate you are seeking the wrong form of entertainment.

And so starts the nitpicking. I'm not going to answer everyone of your questions, I'll just tackle this one. He survived the same way Anakin and Luke survived Mustafa and Bespin. Someone cared enough to scoop them up and whisk them away. Then a life support system and/or bionic help was applied. If you can accept Darth Vader, there's zero reason why you can't accept Palpatine. Now go back and apply that concept to the whole movie. It's called Science Fiction Fantasy.

This is what I imagined. "Hello. Denis? Denis Lawson? This is J.J.Abrams and I just wanted to let you know that this is absolutely, positively, without a doubt, the last time anyone will ever ask you to be in a Star Wars movie. Let us know by close of business tomorrow." Now on to the show. Enjoyed it very very much. I found it possibly to be the most visually beautiful of all the films. That opening sequence and the heart stopping horrific grandeur of the Sith lair was just tremendous and really sold me on the ret-con. Welcome back my Emperor. I was very pleased with all things Carrie. They worked really hard on that and most important was the tone, which they got right. I teared up at the chorus of voices. They pulled from so many sources, choosing to honor so many from the entire franchise. Well done. Han was a shock. A most welcome shock. He finally gets his son back. I was an 18 year old heading off to art school the summer that Star Wars came out. I saw these films as an adult, in sequence, on the big screen from start to finish. Not like my seatmate who saw the prequels on video as a child and didn't see A New Hope until after he saw ESB and ROTJ. I feel J.J. made this film especially with viewers like me in mind. It was very satisfying. I loved that it finished on the twins, as it truly was their story. To a viewer like me Rose is but a freckle. Just one of many on a beautiful face. Yes it was a frantic tap dance to recover from all the Rian blunders. But I feel they pulled it off.

Amber was a last minute replacement for Sandra who turned out to have parasites from the previous season.

As children we're told don't let anyone touch you. You tell if someone touches you. You say no. Then we become adults and suddenly the rules change. Ever so subtly. No one has mentioned Courtney Yates and her problems with Jean Robert in China. In a word, YUCK! On topic, I really wish they had made it clearer when the ejection occurred. It looked like the next morning after the TC.

The first trailer I saw after seeing this was the Bond trailer. Just when I adjusted to Craig as Bond up pops Marta as the current Bond girl. When worlds collide whip lash!

I thought it was dreadful. Both in quality and well, full of dread. The Grim Reaper as a mobster. De Niro was awful. Vacant for the most part. Not convincing as a 30 year old or as an Irishman. Really odd how bad he was. Pacino much better. Actual acting going on. A supporting performance, not a star turn. I was rooting for Hoffa at the end. "Don't go in the house" I was yelling! Pesci was great, truly great. I did love seeing Welker White, the babysitter with the the lucky hat in Goodfellas, as Jo Hoffa. When it was finally over, I went and watched Goodfellas as a palate cleanser.

Three actually. Tobias Menzies is the new Philip. I'm telling ya, Edmure still gets no respect.

That's a hell of a statement to leave hanging out there. Perhaps you should consider backing it up.

Baby Jesus, please let Janet win. It was pretty funny when Karishma played her idol.

Dan isn't saying anything because his lawyers told him to Shut The F Up. We will not hear from him and it's unlikely that he will appear at the reunion. I'm not as sad as others over this and it won't change my attitude toward the show. I've dealt with it myself and responded aggressively when it did. I'm lucky that I don't have the freeze response. I just think that the odds of this crap happening at some time during the 39 seasons was very high, so I'm just not floored by it. I mean naked Richard Hatch right from the get go. Humans suck. In fact the show relies on that fact.

Cook Island had an all minority final 4. Was Yau Man a final 4 in Fiji?

Have you forgotten the first half of this game? Ron, Vince, Molly, Chelsea, Jason, Jack, Tom.

Bully, Narcissist. Heh! I'll just say it. I think she's a mild sociopath. Creepy, completely creepy. Maybe she's too young to remember Fiji and it's all black final 3. That had me slapping my desk and roaring. Best paragraph, EVAH!

Josh O'Connor was absolutely incredible.

Just came back from seeing it and I'm pretty damn happy with it. Loved that they incorporated Sarah's crazy talk video into the logos at the start especially because it was a great way to include Dr. Silber!!! What would a T movie be with out Silber!!! The CGI during the assassination scene was killer. Loved Linda through and through. Had no problem believing Dani could be the leader of the Resistance since they made it clear that she was the alpha in her family. The action scene in the factory/industrial setting being placed at the beginning (rather than the end like T1 and T2) was a lovely touch. Set in Mexico and no "Asta la vista baby". Thank you for showing restraint. SCC established that a Terminator with a lot of time on his hands could evolve and be a do-gooder, so no problem with Carl. Myron Stark for President! When the T1 music started up I got all verklempt. Missed opportunity: Kyle Reese would have been alive and well in this world. Just saying. Favorite line: "Yeah, cause otherwise, this might be dangerous!"

Yes. Season 8 All Stars. They were on their original tribe with Amber Tom, Alicia and Rob C.

On the Know It All podcast Cesterino confirmed that Rob and Sandra are living on the beach. Rob didn't like the shelter they gave them so he rebuilt it. They have much better food than the contestants though. Sandra was pretty good at the "I don't know what's going on" part of the game herself. She has Elaine pegged. And Rob has a degree in Psychology.

I enjoyed it very much. In my head canon I always saw Jesse as finding some of Todd's money in the car and that's how he survived. So I'm happy that it was indeed Todd's stash that funded his trip. I didn't mind at all the cameos. Except for GD Jane. The gunslinger shootout was awesome. And it was fun to see Jesse get it over his parents one more time. The lack of the twangy steel guitar music cues through me off a bit. Jesse in a cable knit sweater signified that, well, the old Jesse was dead. Walt finally got his way.

Hmmm. I'm wondering if they are taking inspiration from the TV show. That would please me as the show was awesome and went in far more interesting directions than the sequels. PS. Fun factoid. The goofy voice of Sgt Candy is none other than Samuel L. Jackson.

The film deals with the suppression of free speech. They are retroactively shutting down the neo-nazish group (who caused the future conflict) from spreading their rhetoric. So my conflict is that I'm a proponent of free speech. How do I root for the heroes? Well, I'm also against genocide, but so many people have pointed out that Thanos has a point about the universe being so over crowded that people live in poverty and starve and fight over resources. So should we root for Thanos? The films have similar moral dilemmas.
-
I liked this very much. I rewatched it immediately because I wanted to catch everything. It sets itself up as one genre and then shifts into another. It also had hidden in it a controversial take on the free speech topic. I might actually disagree with it but I was fascinated anyway. I mean, it reminded me that I hate genocide but then again, Thanos had a point.

I too was very happy to see the perp exam. I can't remember ever seeing that before. I love the Mindhunter vibe to this show. And seeing Dale Dickey as someone who's not a skank.
