They were not landowners and/or titled Westerosi. They have NO rights what so ever. Their leader was dead, gone, no more. An ex-leader. The Dothraki want to go home and find a new Khal.

Well first of all what makes you think the Starks are some sort of Randos. I mean really think about that. Winterfell, largest landholders, Wardens of the North, 8,000 year old history, Hero of the Great War. And they came to get their brother. What you makes you think that this was anything but a hastily put together gathering of the most influential survivors of a protracted dispute, in order to deal with an unprecedented situation, that being, we have no ruler. There's no one in charge. There are no rules for this. Grey Worm was the only ranking member of Dany's council left. The other two were hostages at this point. I think it's fair to say that Jon had kind of quit his job. The Dothraki were packing up their shit. Why on earth would they want to stay in Westeros? Zombies, snow, dead Khaleesi. They had already booked their tickets.

Jeepers, Arya, Sansa, and Bran were there together to support Jon. Ya know, as in, "the pack survives." And none of them voted. Should Arya and Sansa been dragged out of their chairs the split second Sansa declared for independence and just as their brother was being elevated to the Ruler? Who's gonna make that happen? Royce? Sam? Edmure? Seems like a bad move if you might wish to curry favor with new King.

I loved the King of the Extras. Great idea to follow him. And I got a kick of everyone watching Kit during the table read.

Don't they also raise a dog and then kill it and finally graduate by taking a baby from a slave mother and killing it? That's very SS. They did the kill a puppy deal.

It reflects on Ned who kept the secret. Admit it, it totally made you reflect on Ned and his sense of honor. It adds a greater sense of drama to the end, Jon was both a threat to Dany's perception of herself and one of the few men who rejected her, because of their familial closeness. And it adds a layer of poignancy to Jon, who is now not only a Queenslayer but a kin slayer. He bears both ugly epithets now. Plus there's that whole Prince Who Was Promised legacy. Rhaegar did eventually make the prophecy come true. Neither his nor Lyanna's death were in vain. Or was there more damage done because of the aftermath of his decision than was worth his actions. Would Dany have become a despot without her life experiences? Chicken or the egg.

I've been working backwards. In other words, where did some things or people simply have to end up. Like Clegane bowl had to happen. Cersei had to die. Euron had to die. And above all that freaking cursed Iron Throne had to go. And squashing it would not be enough. Since it was forged in dragon fire it was going to have to be destroyed by dragon fire. Either Jon or Dany had to die. They couldn't both exist with their claims. Both of them alive meant a constant state of rebellion, or intrigue, somewhere at some time from someone. That secret wasn't gonna stay secret and with a foreign queen and a foreign occupying army something would have to give. A Targaryan as ruler? Two Targaryans as rulers? That doesn't seem fitting. Jaime had a pathetic future ahead of him. Hanging at Winterfell with Brienne under the roof of a resentful Sansa? Rebuilding the kingdom with the survivors, a Lannister? A little home in the country? Nah, so Jaime had to go. Arya still had her list, she's not one to sit out a fight. And Kings Landing was gonna get screwed no matter who won. Dothraki, Unsullied, Northern Army, Lannister Army, Iron Fleet, ballistas, at least one Dragon, and caches of wildfire and that is a recipe for disaster. Dany uses this as a justification for her violent actions. So my wish list for the last episode: More fitting death for Cersei. She had never left the keep since season one so I would have liked her to stay as long as possible. Taken out by a cache of wildfire planted by Qyburn but used as a suicide as Dany bears down on her. Takes out Jaime as well. Euron gets fished out of the drink by Yara's arriving ships and his throat cut. Keep Tyrion's quitting and imprisonment and have him point out that Davos won't stand for the murder of children. Dany is still a conquering fanatic. A flock of ravens flying about surveying the ruins. Jon still kills Dany. A warg by Bran into Drogon to protect Jon and he takes out the Iron Throne. That makes him a hero and a worthy candidate. Drogon still takes Dany away after Jon escapes out the throne room to be met by Davos and his men. As for the council, I would have Davos take a good deal of Tyrion's screen time and give him a more eloquent speech advocating for Bran. Tyrion would look Grey Worm in the eye and shout, "I demand a TRIAL BY COMBAT." Okay, that was a joke!!!! But that would have killed me if he had a 3rd trial by combat! The Starks moving on and Jon's fate I would have left the same.

It keeps her in the running but it won't get her one. But more importantly it keeps her qualified for the SAG award for best ensemble.

Well if we're gonna play the maybe game, maybe some of them did what you said, in which case why on earth would we see that? It was not their story.
-
They followed only the very strongest. Frankly, with Dany and Drogon gone, they were left entirely leaderless unless you count Grey Worm the Master of War for all of an hour or so. I don't imagine they would have found GW too strong after losing Dany so fast. The Dothraki are a nomadic plains culture with significant, religious and societal locations far away on another continent. There are zero reasons for them to stay.

Noooooooo, he never played the game. He was the perfect person because he had no ambition and no dog in the game. He simply knew he'd be asked. There was no winning here. Only duty.
-
Sansa's statement was just a riff on the Nietzsche quote, "What doesn't kill me makes me strong." That's all she was saying. What I wish she had said was, "If I had gone with you, you would have sold me back to my mother and I would have died with her and Robb at the Red Wedding."

They already have the next job. The prequel is shooting.

I'd like to see the world wide figures for GoT. It was shown in 170 countries. It's the first global blockbuster TV show.
-
You missed the plant that was growing up through the snow as the wildings left Castle Black. Spring has come to the far north.
-
But those weird long winters/seasons are a thing of the past. Now that the NK is gone balance is returning. The North will lose that advantage.
-
No, the opposite. Miranda said Ramsey wanted children so that was off limits but any other "piece of you" was fair game.
-
It's purpose was to reveal that Robert's Rebellion was based on an untruth. And his parentage would have been a constant threat to Dany's dream. But he was not Aegon Targaryan, he was always Jon Snow, the young man who went beyond the wall, fell in love with a wilding girl kissed by fire and he should never have left that cave.

The Hand's Tower was collapsed.
-
??? Did you go to the kitchen for a beverage and miss an important plot point? Something involving Drogon.
-
No. There is no winning here. There's just duty and responsibility. It's a burden, not a prize.
-
It sets up Tyrion to repeat his "jackass and a honeycomb in a brothel" joke which we heard twice before.
-
Because she was clearly Elizabeth I who had no children. I am married to the North.

Everything Drogon was magnificent. MVP! Yay, the throne is gone. Dany's Triumph of her Will was chilling. Hers is a cautionary tale. Wonderful little detail we caught at our house. As Jon and crew marched beyond The Wall, there was a green plant poking through the snow. Spring has come to the far north, The Wall is coming down. Loved it all. Immensely satisfied.

I still love the show. It's ending pretty much as I expected. Throne gone. Just the actual identities of the dead is different.
