  1. Wow, everyone was so unlikeable in this episode except for Bob, Abishola & Olu. Ebun & Dottie: their speech about men becoming crybabies and their friends dying was incredible selfish and lacked empathy. Dele was really annoying when Bob caught him coming home in the middle of the night. When did he turn into such a brat? And Tunde telling Olu how to drive. I loved that she made him get out of the car. No need to put up with that crap.
  2. Did the actor playing Tariq lose weight? Suddenly, he was very hot.
  3. Wow, she was trying to make it as an actor for 17 years? That is some determination.
  4. Oh my gooood that was so goooddd!!!!! I am dying from the perfection of it all and I can NOT wait for the season to finally be here.
  5. Wow, Lauren Ash is just acting her heart out this season. He does these understated emotional scenes in her father's presence so well. I love it. And Nell is amazing at conveying the messages of the dead to their loved ones in a way that is acceptable but still gets the point through. That is really cool. I liked how they set up her relationship with the guy and the reason for him not being ready for a relationship at that moment also made total sense.
  6. Yeah that's pretty dumb. Apparently they made that storyline because the actor playing Marty had a daughter in real life and it inspired the showrunners.
  7. As per the guidelines of the new season, only Bob & Abishola will be in all episodes. The other characters will be in a maximum of 5 episodes this season this was announced very well in advance. And it's all for the better! What a lovely episode this was. Just the focus on the core characters, and the storyline had a chance to breathe. I am surprised they started with such a heavy subject, but since it's the final season I guess they have no time to spare. Too bad that Abishola gave in to Dele's foolish dreams, but since this is a sitcom of course they have to support his stupid aspirations. By every objective metric Dele should choose a different career, but I am sure we will end on a happy ending for him, because sitcom magic.
  8. I'd like to talk about this because so many people are pointing out that the 3 district administrators must be secretly evil / seem too good to be true. But when Manny and Jeanine were talking it turned out that they visit the same teaching-related discussion forum and have very similar ideologies. These are things that people do in their down-time. If Manny spends his own time there and Jeanine even recognized him in a positive way from his online posts, that means he is genuine. There is no faking that sort of background, it wouldn't make sense. If things go wrong with the administrators it will be because higher powers prevent them from helping, they become jaded / burnt out / or tempted by financial prospects, not because they are secretly evil and are lying to everyone. However, this show wants to be optimistic and show a positive example of what could be possible in an ideal world so I don't think anything hugely bad is going to happen. This is a sitcom but also the show's goal is to have positive real world impact and that is achieved by modelling ideal behavior. It takes after Schitt's Creek in that way. So I don't think we need to be so suspicious about those 3.
  9. I loved the moment when Duncan paid Leslie a compliment and how shocked she was by that. And they actually had a nice conversation afterwards. I also liked Nico Santos as the ghost here. It was very refreshing to see him in a role that is not a horrible human being like his stint on Superstore was.
  10. I am sooooo excited for this. I re-watched season 1 not long ago and it's even better on repeat viewings. Holds up very well.
  11. I just saw clips of this online and wow what a waste of a show this was. Utter nonsense and in the end turned out to be pointless as well, she was not even really abused.
  12. Is it true we are getting a season 4?
  13. Do you guys have an idea of what Rick's upbringing was like? Did he also have really smart parents or are they average and he was just born super smart somehow? Would be really interesting to know more about Ricks backstory, his experience growing up and how his relatives dealt with him. It's weird that the show went on for 7 whole seasons and this is completely unexplored.
  14. Well, there have been multiple emotionally hard-hitting scenes in the series: When Edward tells Nell not to be with Philip When Nell realizes she doesn't feel anything When Nell tells Edward not to hide who he is from his date And the big one, when Nell Tells Sam about Her Miscarriage Like hello? Have we watched the same show? This one is not like one of those zany surface level shows which only goes for the jokes, it also has a heart. It's like "Mom" in that way and those scenes usually have an even bigger impact because we have grown to like the characters in the comedic scenes.
  15. With the current release schedule, we would get the final season in 2035. Yeah that's a big no.
  16. Oooh I just know there will be a big emotional scene where Nell finally makes him face the truth and I can not wait. This show is so good.
  17. Throwing the rocks at human Bigfoot was pretty hysterical
  18. Dropping in two parts? Disgusting. This show is best in one all-fulfilling binge.
  19. Only 10 episodes is a bummer considering this show is so popular. And I guess they won't make it up with an expanded episode number next season.
  20. While I am sad to see it go, I can understand it. The show clearly doesn't know where to go. It focused so much on the sock factory and the establishment of a new factory while no one who watches the show really cares about these things, and they did not make these storylines too much fun. This coupled with giving Goodwin a huge amount of screen time for some mysterious reason caused a huge dip in quality. Meanwhile actually fun characters like Kemi, Olu and Tunde were phased out more and more. While the show eventually figured out how to use Ebun, making her a series regular was a colossal mistake as well. Just horrible decisions all around. My one wish is that they nail the ending. Bob and Abishola deserve that much.
  21. What is Kitty a stereotype of? Innocent rich girls?
  22. Hawk is such a bad person and seems to have everything. The theme bad things so happen to good people, no matter how good they truly are is very present.
  23. I hope they start with a Valentine day episode with that start date.
  24. I kinda just want to forget I ever saw it.
