This episode did not make sense to me. Marty and Courtney did not adjust to parenthood, and they are having a very hard time. Meanwhile, Tina is right there ready and eager to help, and she knows how to do it too. Why not let her do it? It takes a village to raise a child and Marty & Courtney should be grateful someone is so willing to help. Dave's mid-life crisis plotline wasn't really funny.

Can it be effective when a spouse pesters a person into a more healthy lifestyle the way it is happening to Fred now? From what I have seen the motivation has to come from inside.

Ava may be crazy but she legitimately seems more helpful and more caring than most principals that I have ever interacted with.

I thought this was not a particularly strong episode. I get it, there is a new baby and they had to deal with that but I hope the next episodes will focus on other storylines.

S02.E08: Shadow and Flame

I feel the fight choreography in the show largely leaves something to be desired. Arondir’s fight scenes are very good though. In s1 I recall a scene and the way he drew his arrows was like so graceful and natural… a minor thing like that looked impressive as hell. But as for the nig showdown scene with lady G and mr S, I feel it didn’t give me a sense of verisimilitude. It was missing something. -
At this point it seems a lot of the audience is over Gabriel and his BS attitude. I don't have strong feelings either way but it would not be a bad thing if Emily ended up with someone else.

Bingo. They feel small and they make fun of others to drag them down to their level, in their minds at least.

This is not new. Sam and her friend spent a lot of time making snide remarks about other people in season 1 too. They engage in a lot of questionable behavior and I find it surprising no one has a problem with that. They are mean spirited to others. I know it's in the name of "fun" but still.

He fostered the dog for a few days then it was given to someone else.

I hope next season will have a bigger episode order because the show seems to be received positively.

I have to say, I really appreciate that the whole of the creative team continues to buck the tradition of having generally massive cliffhangers between episodes and seasons, and that they refrain from dredging up any unnecessary drama. Allowing us as viewers to experience the highs and lows, but recognize the comfort of letting things sit without shuffling the deck again at the end of a story is really special. Far too many shows beg for our attention, and I think Heartstopper asks us to sit with it and just be. It's like the best kind of a friend. This season was beautiful in ways that are so nuanced that I think a lot of us are going to need to sit with the waves of emotions a bit longer.

Wow Evan was kinda cold-hearted to that student at the start. I felt bad for him. I liked the fake-out moment when he chose Malcolm, I totally expected him to go for the teacher guy. And they played the same song that they played in episode 1 when they had their kiss that ended in Malcolm leaving his job.

Late response but the show has a big fluctuation in quality episode to episode. Not all of them are good but when they hit, it's great. So I'd recommend starting with some of the fan favorites to get you in the groove.

Good. Season 2 was a huge drop in quality and I did NOT want to watch those stupid election shenanigans they had in mind.

Heavy stuff this episode but all the cast are doing a good job acting wise. Joe and Kit are absolute standouts particularly in both of there big moments of the episode. Time to be controversial but I don't think Hayley Atwell delivered at all in terms of that beautiful monologue, I'm actually gutted we didn't get to see Olivia Coleman say it because I genuinely think she lets down such a stellar moment. Joe's acting when he's on the phone oh WOW! I completely understand Tao&Elles storyline so far but I'm just not invested in it for some reason, low-key hate the obnoxious relationship couple in a friend group too so…Not the absolute icon Annette Badland being Taras grandma omg, not her playing yet another grandma to a queer grandchild (big boys watchers I'm looking at you). I think Tori and Isaac having more to do so far has been lovely to see and it's genuinely brilliant that we are having Charlie x Isaac scenes this season! Sort of makes me sad we didn't get more earlier because they both bounce of each other really well and Tobie does a good job at the more serious moments (though I found the editing of that scene very weird tbh). Cute moment with the teachers but again not enough. [okay so after thinking about this episode more I think I'm actually pretty frustrated with it, I really don't understand them trying to frame Charlie's mum as a problem/rude like maybe it's just me but I feel like she's just being a typical parent. Why is there no personal development of Tara as a character? How are we 3 seasons in and it still feels like we don't know how to balance an ensemble cast properly? Another big thing is I feel like we ended season 2 on the pretty devastating reveal that Charlie was self harming previously yet it doesn't feel like a priority AT ALL in terms of what's going on.]

And thank God for that. I like that this show doesn't do that will they won't they bs with a coworker. Too many workplace comedies fall into that trap.

I love Malcolm. He was the highlight of the episode for me, he is so cute and the actor is captivating. But yes, when Evan is at a conference he simply can't spend the entire day with him, it is a work event. So it was a bit of an impossible situation although he could have been nicer about it. When he asked him "why are you here" after inviting him that was a bit mean.

Yes, just today a super long interview was released which mostly focuses on the trans representation in the show - but it mentions that the comics did not have Isaac in them, but she wanted to include him in the show for the asexual representation. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/heartstopper-season-3-elle-tao-relationship-1236025106/

The moment between Nick and Tao was so good. The fact that Nick felt so helpless, lonely and isolated with everything going on with Charlie, without having anyone to talk to must have been such a weight on his shoulders. The fact that Tao (out of all people!) went to check up on Nick and then wrap his arm arround him to finally give him a moment to let go of the walls he had build it to act strong and composed to everyone.
