  1. The retiring Prima Ballerina was played, I believe, by Irina Dvorovenko who just retired from the American Ballet Theatre and is getting into acting. I loved this episode. This show is so much better than garbage like CSI: Cyber which is a stinking pile of manure yet gets better ratings than an excellent show like Forever. I just don't understand the average majority viewing audience's tastes I guess.
  2. So many issues yet so few were covered well by the Glee writers. Ambitious but without the required talent/ability, they should have stuck with being a whacko comedy.
  3. I broke down and pre-ordered season 6 DVD. I enjoyed more of this season then I disliked and there were 4 episodes that I really liked a lot. The only other Glee DVD that I own is season 1 volume 2 (Road to Regionals). I do have most of the first part of season 1, some of season 2&3 and maybe 2 episodes of season 4 on my DVR. I can't see myself ever wanting the complete set of all seasons because there were too many stories that I hated or that bored me.
  4. Jesse was a born director. I enjoyed seeing a bit of that Jesse emerge again. It reminded me of the Hello 12, Hello 13 out-take where after kissing Rachel (and enjoying it) he regroups and says "I have some notes". He is still Rachel's biggest fan. Still reassuring her that she would win. I would say Jesse manages Rachel's moments of crazy better than most men would, and Rachel has him wrapped around her finger since she somehow got him to agree to let her be a surrogate.
  5. Not sure where this belongs but Groff singing Happy Medley for International Day of Happiness.
  6. I think it would have been a lot more emotionally fulfilling if the writers had written Will as a truly excellent teacher. Having him get all those pats on the back was a lot like when Finn was portrayed as a hero back in season whatever. Such unearned praise. The writers should have been made to watch To Sir with Love in combination with Stand & Deliver in a continual loop until they understood what makes an inspiring teacher.
  7. Pretty well my exact sentiments. Still kind of in happy shock that St. Berry was really endgame and not a bait and switch.
  8. On the bright side, we have no details about Jesse & Rachel's courtship/marriage/etc so lots of material for fanfic that won't be in conflict with canon. End song got to me, just because it was so good to see almost everyone back on stage. So imost of this last season was about Will and about Sue, then Rachel. Tina with Artie instead of Mike (major Sads!). Surrogate baby? Never happened or at least not until Rachel was in her early thirties.
  9. Especially as her husband is Jesse St. James. He must really be besotted with Rachel to agree to that.
  10. This is all a dream/hallucination isn't it?
  11. Well, we always knew Glee was AU.
  12. Can you blame her? I bet by that time she'd seen enough about how RIB operate to stay well away. :-) Lindsay, Grant and Groff were my favorite discoveries of the non-regulars; what a show it could have been with them as regulars in the cast and better writers. As for Jesse being a villain? He was no more a villain than Shelby.
  13. I never liked Freddie Mercury. He had an incredible vocal range but his "I''m God's Gift to men & women" performance persona was a huge turn off for me' and his overbite was incredibly distracting. My fav performance of BR is actually watching Mark Kanemura dance to it. I don't know which came first, but BR is far more vocally challenging. I'm still hoping that somewhere in the vault is a video of Jesse's performance of Burning Up. Vocally I like Groff's tone in his voice when he sings. I also appreciate that he enunciates clearly so you can hear every word properly and invests emotionally in a song. His version of "Mama Who Bore Me" on UT is one of my favorites although that could be because it one of the first non-Glee songs I heard him sing.
  14. Biggest surprise • Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, sung by Jonathan Groff and cast, Season 1/Episode 22 (Journey to Regionals) Groff had "never sung in that sort of Freddie Mercury-style," Anders says. "He was a Broadway guy, and he was afraid he wouldn't be able to handle it. I remember telling him, 'Just trust me, just trust me.' And he was floored by how it turned out and it really opened his eyes to a whole new way of singing, which was really exciting for me. But man, we sang for 48 hours straight doing background on that. We didn't stop for two days to get it all done." From usatoday.com article "farewell Glee". http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2015/03/18/glee-series-finale-music-highlights/24940423/ I never liked Bohemian Rhapsody as a song until Groff did it on Glee. I do wish they had let him do more ballads though. As much as I like Lea's voice, many times I feel she's not really emotionally connecting to the song. Belting is not a substitute for real emotion. I'm still trying to decide which is my favorite song(s). I do know the Adele mash up is my favorite mash up.
  15. I'm seriously considering making 6x11 my Glee finale in the wake of these pregnancy spoilers. I was already having a hard time with the Rachel " pregnant and up for a Tony" timeline, but if she's being a surrogate instead of accidentally getting pregnant? It makes even less sense so of course, RIB will go there. I just realized that apart from the horrible writing and total lack of continuity, the other thing that ruined Glee for me was Klaine. It was the beginning of the end when Blaine entered Kurt's life.
  16. I actually bought it on ITunes after swearing 4years ago that I would never ever buy from Itunes again. But I'll still wait until my regular online store has the album available before I get the rest of the music that I want from the episode. :-)
  17. The Groff does indeed make everything better. Good review! I was a little more accepting than you of some of the parts but I agree totes on the parts you liked and which scenes my "allergies" acted up in. There was a current of joy running throughout this episode.Lea & Jon need to do an album and DVD concert together. They are magic! Eta, I hate auto fill! How do I get my tablet to stop replacing Groff with Geoff!!!
  18. I really liked this episode. The Sue thing on first watch did make me angry, but I loved Wil's little revenge. Enjoyed every song, even ones I was at first hear kind of iffy about. Much prefer Noah and ND 's version of Take me to Church over the original. Loved that Blaine was restricted in his screentime and lines, and that Kurt got a good scene with Rachel and was used more than usual. Jesse!!! My St. Berry otp made me so very happy (although editing their duet was a shame. I've been playing that song multiple times each day and love the full version. I' m going to end up buying this season's DVD just because this one episode gave me more joy than seasons 3 thru 5 combined. The trophy room scene made me cry both times (yes, I've watched tonight's episode twice already :-D Oh, I loved the egg comment! Nice little dig at the fans that can't let Jesse's one mistake go,
  19. I didn't think any CSI show could possibly top the supreme badness that was CSI Miami aka The Horroratio Show, but I think this series in just 2 episodes has achieved that. I couldn't even make it through this episode. Uninteresting and ridiculous pretty well sums it up for me. I miss CSI New York. Even when the plots weren't the greatest, I was invested in the team and liked the main characters for the most part. CSI Las Vegas was was always my first choice though this past season was tired. This new show could have been interesting, but they did everything wrong right from the start. I will be really angry if this gets renewed and a much better show like Forever is canceled.
  20. We had two star centers on our boys HS basketball team that you would never believe they were the same height, but they were. One was fine boned with a face like a Raphael painting, the other was big boned and hirsute. In fact at age 17 he could pass for someone around 28 or so easily. I always think of him when I hear someone say Cory looked too old for playing a high school student.
  21. I really wish they'd never set the endgames so early and been so adamant in never deviating from them. It's like if you are reading a book and after the first chapter, the author gives you the last chapter and then expects you to read the book and still be interested/invested in the book and the characters. That makes for boring storytelling. I liked the friendship (what little we were allowed) between Puck and Rachel. I never bought Finn and Rachel as an endgame couple because they were just so wrong for each other and I hated that Finn was portrayed as a "hero" no matter what he did wrong. (Santana slapping him was one of the most satisfying scenes. ) What he did to Brody, well that came off as possessive obsessive creepiness. I think for Jesse, it started as a favor for Shelby and ended up with him unexpectedly falling for Rachel. I prefer her with Jesse because he never cheated on her or with her; he actually listens to her and he believes in her 100%. He also seems to have matured, and since Groff was not available to be a regular on Glee the writers haven't been able to destroy his character (at least so far, but there is still time for them to mess him up ). Lastly, I love them singing together and on a purely superficial note, there is the hotness. Another thing the writers failed at was the show choir competitions after the srcond season. The way they write the show choir competitions is boring. There is no anxiety or anticipation of the outcome over the past few seasons.
  22. Yes, I like most of them too and I'll probably buy 4 of them. Good songs, a fabulous St. Berry duet, and St. Berry hotness, I am happy with Glee for once.
  23. OKay, another wish has come true.
  24. Apparently there were several other non-Sue scenes that were filmed but got cut. They should have cut 50% of Sue's scenes and saved them as out-takes and kept the non-Sue scenes in. I want to know 1) who wrote this mess of an episode, and 2)who decided on the final edit. This may be the first episode that that the majority of fandom can agree upon. Is that really what RIB were aiming for?
  25. There is nothing interesting about VA this year. Not one single thing. The only reason I hate them this year is because their singing and performances are boring and they are depriving more worthy singers in the show from singing. If by the end of Glee we don't get to hear Groff sing at least a duet I will be even angrier. Season 6 of Glee aka "How to Waste Time on Unimportant Storylines and Characters No One Cares About"
