I could totally get behind Geordi hosting, with Data as judge and phaser buzzers. That's a show I would definitely watch. If your opponent got too far ahead, you could just point your "buzzer" at him, dialed to "stun." Or "kill," depending.

I've been trying to research why the cabin was "sweltering," if Air Force One had air conditioning and if so, why was it sweltering in that cabin. All I can find is that Air Force One has been a Boeing VC-137C, also known as the 707. I've been on 707s on a runway for long times and there has always been air conditioning for passengers. You'd think that courtesy would be extended to the POTUS.

Good luck to you. But it must be stressful every time the phone rings or a text comes in and ... it isn't Jeopardy. Maybe things will loosen up this year, I hope anyway.

I enjoyed his first day. As for the low key thing so many are complaining about, give Leslie Jones 30 seconds of hosting and then see which you prefer!

I'm enjoying all the guest hosts. I give them credit for filling in for an icon knowing they will be subjected to so many mean SM posts. I hope they stay off all chat sites. And twitter, and insta and ... everything! I felt sorry for the champ yesterday. He seemed excessively tired or his back hurt or something. Being on that show isn't easy. Even though I keep taking the test and trying to get on! I did get the TS of sackbut, even though I'm a relatively new poster here. Former band member!

4 of 5, but two ** so that's a plus!

I'm pretty sure the guest host slots are full until the end of this season. There is a list somewhere and I'm pretty sure those people will fill out the rest of the season. I don't remember Sarah or Jimmy being on it, but it would be fun if they were. The new permanent host won't be announced until the start of season 38 so we won't know that for a long while yet. I haven't seen anything about the tournament of champions host though, nor if there will be one, or a college tournament.

4/5 and one *. I guess Ansel Adams didn't live in Yosemite, although he sort of does now.

LOL, you are a day off. I meant the stone quarried in that Italian city I couldn't think of, the rock used by Michaelangelo. If they were looking for marble instead of Carrara, I would have answered correctly! When I did a search for Carrara, a link for a Carrara toilet seat came up. The Stone of Scone is a frequent Jeopardy clue/answer. But scones and clotted cream would be a good treat at our respective FJ tables, no? Then there are the Elgin Marbles ... not quarried in Carrara!

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? - General Discussion
PBnJay replied to Twilight Man's topic in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
I enjoyed the last player too. It's nice to see a smart contestant who also has a good personality and is entertaining. He was a good one to end the show's run. Agree that the first contestant was not so good. -
4/5 and no asterisk. I would have gotten it if the clue was asking for the stone, not the city. Although I guess then everyone else would have gotten it too, which would have been okay with me!

I had to look twice when contestants were shown, I thought Alan Cumming was playing! Being a fan of The Hunger Games paid off yesterday.

I watched a Jeopardy rerun last night with Alex hosting and it was odd hearing him, like he was being a guest host too. I've gotten used to three other hosts since he died, so now even he seems out of place. That was a strange feeling.

Sounds like you dated twins!

5/5 and 1*. It took me a sec to come up with Le Figaro. I first thought of Le Monde, then Charlie Hedbo, then remembered Le Figaro. I should have thought of that one first, it's the main one in France. And I recently toured several battlefields when I was staying in D.C., so was glad I knew where Antietam was. As do I!

5/5 and one *. I studied up on the Louve before I went, so it was fortunate for me that was an * due to what I thought was a strangely worded clue.

Today is International Women's Day, and Katie Couric is making history as the first female jeopardy host. I got a laugh wondering what all the Dr. Oz haters thought about him saving a man's life at the airport the other day. Say what you will about him, I'd be all for him being at my side if I have a heart attack. I agree wholeheartedly with this.

Is it ironic that so many are complaining and being less than kind and gentle about Mike Richard's "Alex wanted a kinder, gentler world" closing statement? And even less kind and gentle about upcoming guest hosts?

The Filet-O-Fish stumper made me start laughing and singing the FOF song. Filet-O-Fish commercial Warning: Once it gets in your head, it's hard to get it out.

Yay, thank you thank you and thank you! I am so excited, and love the certificate. Now when (if) I go to Hawaii I can shout "I am FIVE OH!" and everyone will let me move to the head of the line. And when (if) I ever pass the test to get on the show, I will bet FIVE OH as part of my wagers as a shout out to the contest. Thanks for making my week!

Did Mike Richards say "good for you" to a contestant during the interviews? lol. Way to send a tribute to Alex. I got FJ since the clue referenced southern islands. Hooray for all those years of French classes.
-
I thought Mike Richards did a good job hosting. I didn't realize he had done hosting before, so knowing that I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. I did laugh that he said "good for you" during the interviews on just his second day. I am looking forward to seeing how all the other guest hosts perform. So far, Ken Jennings and Mike have been fine IMO. I hope everyone else does well too so I can concentrate on the game, not the host.

Sorry I'm late posting again, work is so busy it is cutting into my fun time. 5/5 and two ** this week. I lucked into good categories this week. Hoping I can keep it up. I'll treat everyone to pizza in the contest break room. Trey made me hungry for pizza and now that's all I want. I'm happy to share!

At my house we typically eat all the dough before we have a chance to actually bake cookies. None of us have died yet, so I guess it's okay to do that. Your father sounds like so much fun, and with selective hearing about ice cream. I know some people who are "hard of hearing" when some topics come up in conversation!
