  1. On paper that all makes sense, but there's a context that's lacking. I don't like the word but it's apt here - the 'optics' of it just look bad. It's not a mutual decision that Lana and Archer came to. He wakes up, the daughter is gone and Lana is married to some old rich guy. It looks like she foisted the kid off for her new jet set life. That's not fair to Lana either, and she shouldn't have to put her life on hold. No one knew when Archer would wake up. Now, this could have been a decision she made with Malory, but neither of them sat him down to discuss how the decision was made, etc., either. A lot of what's going on this season has been 'Catch up Archer. Things are different. Too bad.' Pam has been the only one sympathetic to his situation. To be fair, Archer isn't doing himself any favors either, but he still has been contributing on the missions. (Also I think he's still in the coma because I don't think Lana sending off the kid tracks in character for me. The only person that's been consistent is Pam.)
  2. He does look much better without the floppy hair.

    The NBA

That's what I liked. The Xmas games were almost life a playoff atmosphere. But mlk will be even better because I won't be on travel age will have the whole day to myself.
  4. Are the scripts done for the unfinished ones? If so, I don't see why not.
  5. I was going to say we don't have an office hunk either, but it's actually me.

    The NBA

Ah, the xmas games are when I start getting into basketball. I'll miss them if they postpone, but starting on MLK day is actually a good fit for the social overtures (100% support) the league has been making.
  7. I know I watched it. I think I was home from undergrad during fall break, but I don't know. I haven't watched much sports overall just because I've been busier, and I can't stay up late to watch, but I put the game on while I was watching a movie on my tablet. The Rays kept clawing back back back. I didn't have anything going on today so I wanted to watch the end. I mean, what. Even though the RF booted the ball, the tying run was going to score anyway. And actually that guy should have held up at third. The throw to the pitcher cutoff was exactly the right play. I can't believe how awful the throw to the catcher was and how out of position he was. That was bonkers.
  8. Pam is a total superhero. I still think Archer is in a coma though.
  9. Oh, and there will be a swinging kitchen door that will invariably smack someone in the face.
  10. And if it's the 70s, you would have had 2 dates for the xmas eve party and spend the whole time running back and forth.
  11. There's nothing wrong with reliving some indelible moments from high school, but when you're 50 and you're Al Bundy-ing your 4 TD game, you need to back it up. The crucial element of the show is keeping Mrs. Daniel around to call bs and to point out they actually built a life beyond karate.
  12. I agree, but I think the subtle point is high school dudebro Johnny saw Ali as 'his girl' which is not a recipe for healthy relationships, which clearly in the ensuing time he has not. I like Daniel and don't buy in to the 'real villain of karate kid', but he also is living off his high school days to an extent, so the theme is apt here too. I don't necessarily think parlaying the karate angle in his profession is a bad thing. Clearly, you can't be going to your business rival and assaulting his coffee. I think that's the point of the show, however, is the letting go. I don't regret watching the show, and I will be waiting patiently for the next seasons, but I feel like all of that is about 15 years too late. I get the dudebro angle 10-15 years out of high school, especially for someone like Johnny who didn't go to college, but 30 years is a strain. I mean, I liked hs. Thanks to Facebook I'm still friends with most of them, and we had a blast at our reunion, but there's huge swaths of those memories supplanted by college and grad school.
  13. I don't think it's fair to the teams to use *. We all know what happened in 2020. When it's reported, people will say, this was the covid short season. The teams all had 60 games to make their case. One can argue if that's enough, and that's fair, but they still all started 0-0. I would much prefer all sports to have less time between games like this. I tend to think it's the better measure of the team as a whole than relying on 2 starters and they you get 56 days off so they each get 2 starts in a 7 game series.
  14. Is the show on tonight or pre empted by baseball?
  15. No reboot. I don't think you're going to capture the supernova of a show where the 'heroes' are literally galactic nuclear terrorists. A continuation would be cool, but I can't see either John or Aeryn back up for all that pushing 50. It would be interesting how that corner of the galaxy has recovered from them and what the political landscape is like. I said when the show was on though that this could be the next Trek-like franchise. The show universe is just as vast.
  16. It was the selection process not a trial. My dad was on a *grand* jury though. In *Florida*.
  17. Pam having multiple felonies only makes me want to be her friend more. I know Archer is a ton much, but he's right about Lana and that's why she can't stand him.
  18. I went to jury duty in my crappy jacket and didn't shave and they dismissed me.
  19. Yes and no. I have a lot of them. Like I said, it's really the first and last positions that are the 'and' and 'with' of tv. I only had one person asked to switch one time, and we flipped on two papers on being last, so we decided to just go back and forth from then on. In between, either you did a little work, or your friend is throwing you a bone. I've had a few concussions and it fucks you UP. They had to do smelling salts on me once.
  20. That's not an unwritten rule. Stop them on one of the two 4th downs.
  21. I always insist on the coveted 'with' for my author credit on a paper because on tv it's a big deal.
  22. Usually not. There's accepted norms for who is first and last. Actually, the last position can be important.
  23. Didn't Charles Barkley throw someone through a window irl?
  24. I suppose I can buy Gene watching masterpiece theater with Linda because they do so much together. And I can totally buy Linda watching because she thinks it's fancy and it's an excuse to drink wine.
