  1. Bilgistic, I just found that out not too long ago as well. It makes me as mad as tax exempt churches do.
  2. I seriously doubt that one wedding would spell financial ruin for the family. Even if they caved to pressure, it was their choice to cave.
  3. I wouldn't care either. Have no clue who that is. Maybe she didn't either.
  4. I'm so sorry for your loss. Attending the music festival as usual is a nice way to keep her memory alive. My mom LOVED the carnival ride the Tilt A Whirl. Every year of my life we went to the fair to ride it. Eventually we took my daughter with us. After she died my daughter and I went as usual and rode it for my mom. 13 years later, we now take my granddaughter and ride for Nana every year. My thoughts are with you and yours.
  5. I'm not understanding why everybody keeps saying that Zack and Tori had no choice in where they got married and no choice in anything regarding the wedding. Yeah...they did. They are grown ass adults, they could have ran away to Vegas, Mexico, the local courthouse, anything. They had every choice in the world. To say that they had no choice in their wedding makes no sense.
  6. I actually think this is a great example. It makes a lot of sense and its easy for anybody to understand. Thanks Human.
  7. I wish stores had a cash only line. I'm probably the last one on earth but I prefer using cash. I spend less when I can actually see my money leaving my hands. I hate having to wait for people signing their papers if I'm in line with one thing and the cash in my hands. I've seen people using debit or credit cards to buy a damn candy bar.
  8. He asked me to research the laws about this in Arizona. Those dogs really touched him. We are huge animal lovers. The two of us love animals more than we like most people. Over the years he's been on the road, he's rescued anandoned litters of kittens and puppies and adult dogs that jerks just dump on the side of the road. After finding the first litter he always checks boxes he sees. Most of the time he'll take them to a shelter or rescue but there have been a few along the way that have really touched him and he brought those home. One kitten he found got out of the box, climbed his arm and slept on the back of his neck as he drove. She slept there for over 200 miles. She came home. On the website for my city it seems like there are stories every day of idiots leaving their dogs in hot cars.
  9. What the hell is wrong with people?! My husband just called from Arizona, he was at a grocery store and there locked in a car in the hot sun were 2 mini Schnauzers. He said they were panting and drooling. He waited 3 minutes then called the police and told them he was breaking the window and taking them out. He got the dogs out, put them in his air conditioned truck and gave them water, the police and animal control came. He waited as long as he could but had to get back on the road. He gave the officer his card and they're supposed to call and let him know what happens. He's coming back through Arizona on his way home and told animal control that instead of giving the dogs back to the owner who tried to kill them, he would take them. They whined and tried to follow him when he left them. They said legally if the owner comes for them, they will probably have to give them back. We'll see what happens. Why do people still do this? I just do not understand. My dog loves going "bye bye in the car". As soon as we say bye bye she runs to her leash and does her butt wagging happy dance, but when its hot, she stays home. People really suck sometimes.
  10. I never ever go anywhere like that without a book or my kindle or something. If nothing else I always have my phone to play a game or something on. I hope you're feeling better. The next 4 days are going to be 104, 108 and then 2 days at 103. My house has no air conditioning and the insulation sucks. I'm not looking forward to it. On the plus side, my husband sent me 5 dozen Stargazer lilies from the road for my birthday. I have some downstairs but most of them are upstairs in my room. My room smells so good. Stargazers are my favorite flower. I have a beautiful one tattooed on my back.
  11. Not you!! Its nobody who comes to this section. I hate bare walls. I've got stuff everywhere. I meant when somebody walks across it its really echoey. They just make too much noise.
  12. These 2 people are so annoying that I prefer to not read them. One knows EVERYTHING and the other tries so hard to be funny that their commebts make no sense. I'd rather just ignore those 2. Well 3 actually.
  13. Even though I complained above I must say that I love this site. Its so much better than "that other place". I'm very happy about the new ignore button. There are 2 posters in a thread I frequent that make me cringe every time I see their names. I've gotten private messages that let me know I'm not the only one they irritate.
  14. My problem is that you cant just start them. You have to come up with "clever" titles for them. I've tried to start a couple just straight forward threads in the past but the told me I needed the cutsey titles for them.I gave up.
  15. I wish we could have seen Carrie's reaction to the story Doug told in Consummate Professionals. I don't care about inconsistencies, I just love watching it. I chalk the inconsistancies up to it being a long running show.
  16. I've never heard of either of these people. I'm passing on this one.
  17. That face!! I just want to smooch it. She's adorable.
  18. My condolences as well Carmellow. I'm so very sorry.I wouldn't even be out of bed yet if it was my child. You're a strong person.
  19. Exactly! Any time my husband and I watch a movie or something, somehow we always end up lying on the floor. That's why we got the plush carpet in the first place. I was a vacuum fanatic before my accident, I'm weird and I loved to vacuum, usually did it twice a day. so I never worried about the pet hair. I think the hair is much worse and much harder to clean on the wood floor.
  20. DeLurker, for now I just have the crayola pencils. They are OK for what I'm using them for but I'm going this week to the craft store to see what they have. I stayed up until 2 am coloring.
  21. I agree. The guy was kinda rude but anybody could say they are shopping for 2 people. I have a pet peeve that I know is stupid but I need to whine about it anyway. I hate, hate, hate my new hardwood floors. I miss my soft, squishy carpet. My carpet was only 3 years old and still in great shape. Hardwood floors are so cold. Its a lot easier to navigate my wheelchair now which is why we had them put in, but I don't like them. Its so echoey in here now. Carpet is so much cozier. My stair lift is awesome though. My cat has decided its now her favorite place to sleep now so I fight her for it, but I love it. It's so nice being able to go upstairs any time I want. Edit: I realize this is more of a whine than a peeve. Sorry.
  22. My son got me some that were on Amazon. They're different than the ones on the commercial. My favorite one was done by a tattoo artist. Its 30 of his most popular designs. I love them. I get so bored sometimes, I needed something new to do. I'll never give them to anynody, I just enjoy coloring them. I feel like a big meanie though, I'm hiding my books and new colored pencils and stuff from the grandkids. They have about 20 color books here and a huge bucket of crayons, these are MINE!
  23. Thank you!!!! Best birthday I've had in a very long time. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit this because people were kind of making fun of them but I requested and received 3 adult coloring books. I'm so excited. I color a lot even when the grandkids aren't here but I get tired of coloring kids stuff. Being confined to bed a lot these books are going to be great for me. I got a lot of great presents but my favorite was from my 7 year old granddaughter. She was a preemie and spent 2 months in the hospital after she was born. I'd go up every night for her 6:30 feeding. I always sang "You are my sunshine" to her, when she was old enough we'd sing it to each other. My girl got some money for her birthday in June. They went to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and she was going to spend her money there. She bought me a beautiful square paperweight with a Sun on it and the words "You are my sunshine". I cried when I opened it. She's such a sweet, sensitive girl. It was a great, great day! I may not be the richest person in the world but I'm so damn lucky. I love my little family.
  24. I didn't believe for a second that Adam's dad was in the car. Adam said that just for the cameras. His dad was probably at home.
