  1. The flashback scene with Mrs. DiLaurentis making KidAli repeat the story over and over until it became her new version of "truth" combined with the fact that the event itself was a memory that Alison had buried - not to mention the little tidbit of the one episode where Aria walked in on Mike and Mona discussing The Manchurian Candidate - makes me wonder if we aren't heading into some kind of theme of brainwashing/mind-control/etc.
  2. So, between this show and Sons of Anarchy, that actor has played both the stalker and the stalked. :)
  3. Not that I think anyone deserves to be killed, obviously, but I really disliked her boss. LOL. I could almost understand where Ellen was coming from.
  4. Honestly, I know this is extreme, but when Kristina was giving that "your creepy actions were so brave" speech, I was gettting shades of Dandy's mother on American Horror Story! Also, if the show expects us to take Max's (and Kristina's) side in this situation and not Dylan's - that's some seriously effed up, rape culture-enforcing BS! A girl does not owe a guy her affections simply because he has chosen to zero in on her. She also does not owe him her romantic attention simply by virtue of the fact that she has hung out with his family twice. Honestly, if I thought the point of this storyline was to show, from Dylan's perspective, how really and truly terrifying it would be to be on the receiving end of the affections some delusional Elliot Rodgers type when it was clear he was about to do something really violent, not knowing what to do about it and not having authority figures take you seriously...well, I would say THAT story was VERY well done! However, I don't think that's what they were going for!
  5. Is this the first time we found out that the mythical "Terry" is a woman, or did we know that before?
  6. I'm pretty sure Castro dropping out was more due to NotNiles announcing as opposed to Alicia's photo opp. And Kalinda couldn't be at that meeting because of the 30 foot rule.
  7. Wow, I just could not get over how much the UnSub reminded me of 90210-era Jennie Garth!
  8. I'm so sick of the storyline of Dylan McDermott's ex hanging some sort of threat over his head to get him to leave dragging on. Although I obviously realize that he's not going to leave (duh), it just keeps dreagging me back to remembering that he is new, and the show is new, and prevents me from falling into that procedural-lull I like to get in where I can relax into the characters like a comfortable shoe and just enjoy the mystery of the week.
  9. I feel like whichever writer is spearheading this Max/Dylan storyline was *heavily* inspired by The Rosie Project!
  10. When I was watching Damien agonizing over not having told his mother that he loved her enough, I really wanted to say to him - imagine if the situation were slightly shifted and, God forbid, you had died suddenly. Can you imagine any possible scenario where you would want to see one of your children suffering like you are suffering? How would you feel, knowing that they were torturing themselves over whether you knew they loved you? Wouldn't you just want to wrap your arms around them and tell them how much you loved them, and that you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt how much they loved you, too? Because I'm sure that's what your mom felt about you, as well! I mean, you could see in his face how much that guy adores his kids. Maybe thinking of the situation from the parent's perspective would have some meaning for him.
  11. Honestly, I think the best way that Ron Gibson's niece can "honor" her mother is to make a conscious decision to be the kind of mother to her sons that her own mother never was to her. If the full definition of forgiveness is that a person's harmful actions no longer have an effect, then that would be the perfect way to demonstrate it. End the cycle of neglectful parenting. Of course, in order to do that, she may need to limit her contact with her mother since it seems clear that her mother drains her of energy and emotional stability. She needs to keep those wells full in order to give all she can to her boys. So, although it might seem counterintuitive to Ron and his recovering sister, Erica limiting contact between the two of them might actually be the best expression of "forgiveness" possible.
  12. I thought the whole Tropical Storm conversation was some sort of clue planting that would end up being connected to the Dengue fever antibody in his blood. They made a point of pointing out that it was a "tropical" disease. Maybe he discovered something in his research, some big government tropical secret, that he doesn't even know he knows. Then, all of the past criminals of the show, his Dad, etc would all be red herrings.
  13. "What makes you think I'm wearing the awful cologne again?" "Because it smells like you're wearing the awful cologne again." Haha! All in all, I found it pretty funny. I was distracted by the voice-over and the flights of fantasy (like the medieval feast sequence). Every time I started getting into a scene and riding the rhythm of it, it broke and went to one of those. I think I would have enjoyed it ten times more if it was much less stylized and just focused on the interesting characters, clever family interaction dialogue, and observational humor and storylines. Maybe it will skew that way more as time goes on.
  14. Hell, I was just happy that they finally...FINALLY...mentioned that Scarlett and Maddie are cousins. I was screaming that at my TV set for most of last season! :D
  15. It finally occurred to me this episode who Christy Haizlip has been reminding me of since episode 1 - Brenda Leigh Johnson of The Closer! :D
  16. I was just coming here to mention the similarity to Presumed Innocent!
  17. Boy, that Ron Gibson just keeps getting more misogynistic every episode!!
  18. I am ridiculously excited about this!
  19. I miss Tucker SO MUCH!!! He and his hyper gf have been, by far, my favorite recurring guest stars on this show, and the only reason Tucker is not my favorite character altogether is that no one will ever surpass my love for Jeremiah. EVER. :D
  20. My favorite part was when Ron and Noel were going back and forth, arguing that the other one not only didn't give back to the community as much as they did, but didn't even have the capacity to give back as much as they did. Best exchange? Ron Gibson: What capacity do you have that Ron Gibson doesn't have? Noel Jones (with maximum gravitas): Noel Jones It's not just dueling egos, ladies and gentleman, it's the battle of dudes who speak about themselves in the third person! Auntiemel finds that hilarious! Anyway, as shady as Dietrich has been about his private life, it's moments like this that I love him. He's like, "All I see right now is two proud men trying to one up each other about who's the best." SO. MUCH. THIS! Anyway, that's why I can't hate Dietrich. As much as he does annoying things, I do feel like his emotions are the most genuine of all the guys. He may be an immature hothead, but he's genuinely immature and angry, not just working it up for the sake of creating drama.
  21. This episode was like an infomercial for AutoTrader at certain points.
  22. I would have been much more nervous about the actual outcome if they had pretended that Lewicki might have been blown up. Not only is he peripheral enough to the action that the series could go on without him, making it plausible that they would actually get rid of him, but he's also my favorite character, so I would have a real emotional investment in whether or not he made it out alive!
  23. I can't believe I just realized it now, after reading this, but Brandon is basically the teenage Hank Moody!
  24. It would be horrible advice under any circumstances, but giving that advice to someone who doesn't have an affinity for reading social cues is especially dangerous. :/ But it's Evan, what would you expect? Also, Rafa's mother is a dumbass. This is going to backfire on her big time, or at least it would if I was in Divya's position. I would be immediately taking Sashi to a hotel or to Boris' place (if he has one there) or the American embassy. We would be staying there to ride out whatever administrative steps need to be taken to unravel the snafu, and we would have ZERO contact with Rafa's mother. That would, in fact, be the beginning of an entire lifetime of allowing Sashi to have ZERO contact with Rafa's mother, including on Skype or in pictures. If Rafa wanted to send pictures when he ever deigned to visit in the US, that's his business, but she would be getting none from me. Then, when I got back to the States (or even before), job one would be to get a lawyer working on whatever restrictions on visitation arrangements would be feasible. Definitely a ban on Sashi being able to leave the country with Rafa, for damn sure! I know this show plays situations like this lighter than they actually are, but in real life, that would be a scary-as-hell situation to be in!
  25. I could seriously go forever without having to listen to them getting into that "shacking" argument again. You've both made your points, you're not going to change the other one's mind, MOVE IT ALONG!
