  1. I like Amy, but a little bit goes a long way. Also, at 28 & needing some polishing of her vocals, the squeeing nervousness isn't helping; she comes off as a dilettante (which ... yeah). Glad the agent took a harder line with her. It's what she needs.
  2. I wonder what Noah's note said - apparently it wasn't quite vague enough, given how quickly Mare Winningham harrumphed over it. So Scotty was spotted with a hot little brunette number and has a few more on the side. Made me think of the Whitney speculation.
  3. Khan has a pretty sweet crib. I envy his four poster bed in the detoxing guest room. I also noticed his security detail. Too bad Saul didn't have a similar setup when he was CIA Director and Mossad agents were furtively trying to plant bugs in his house while cuckolding him.
  4. My grandmother, who was not fundy, would refer to her sewing/knitting/quilting group as the 'Stitch & Bitch.' Yes, there was always much to hear in her circles.
  5. So-called 'Conversion Therapy' is the next civil rights battle The UN is currently hearing arguments that it constitutes torture.
  6. Joshua Jackson discusses his return to tv: http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2014/11/11/joshua-jackson-talks-about-the-affair/
  7. The spay & neuter clinic was fantastic - major props to Mariah for pulling it off. The problem is always that you need a sustained effort, but hopefully this set the wheels in motion. Tia's family is unconvential in appearance and, judging from the wedding, in spiritual beliefs. The main thing I side-eye has been Perry drinking alcohol given substance abuse in his past (as mentioned above) -- getting high is getting high regardless of the substance. Some people can get clean without 12 steps, but I don't know anyone who is able to maintain social drinking, for instance, while stopping other substances. Hopefully he can.
  8. My brother took his family to watch a calf being birthed at Fair Oaks Farm on their way someplace else. He and his wife thought it was a depressing experience, since they separate mother cow and calf right after birth. Leave minus the cleave, I guess. Fair Oaks does serve a mighty fine grilled cheese sandwich if you're in the neighborhood.
  9. It really comes down to the pacing. Will they reveal enough about the current situation to keep in interesting vs. an exercise in futility?
  10. Hope this is ok! Vanity Fair takes an interesting look at the costume changes that vary by character perspective: http://www.vanityfair.com/vf-hollywood/2014/11/the-affair-showtime-costume-design
  11. Too bad if they're back. I was hoping the 3-week honeymoon scenario really was in play and that they'd have a chance not only to get to know each other in private, but also do any scheming necessary to plan out their lives. Makes me wonder if her pregnancy announcement is forthcoming in short order.
  12. Josh has learned to flash some tongue in order to win the hearts & minds of the faithful Duggar-viewing audience. After all, sucking face has worked for his parents for several years now.
  13. That was brutal to watch and I thought they did well with episode pacing. I suspected Aayan was not long for this world -- love the Fredo's kiss reference above -- but I thought showing his journey, his close escape during the documrnts check, and having him go all Huck Finn on the concrete block in the river amped up the emotional stakes. RIP, Aayan - sorry that your innocence was shattered right before you bit it. Carrie is not a good manager, but we've been shown and told that she is a brilliant recruiter. She had a worldwide network that managed to keep Brody more or less alive with a ten million dollar bounty on him, apparently to pay back favors. In my own non-Homeland related work, I've seen people who wete exceptional at certain aspects of their duties get promoted to management positions. Certainly Carrie's CIA situation stretches credibility, but I can suspend some belief when a show manages to deliver on the emotional level, and this episode did. Fuck the Duck - Chauncey & Aayan forever!
  14. Snogging in the aisles is something Josh witnessed growing up, not a sign of hedonistic rebellion.
  15. We know Jessa doesn't like root beer, so that's ruled out.
  16. No shameface necessary - that sounds sweet. The thing with Josh was the whole Rayban-wearing, whooping and fist-pumping fraternity acting out. It reminded me that the kids (especially, but not limited to, the girls) in this family are taught that their wedding day will be the happiest day of their lives and their penultimate achievement. No wonder Josh was trying to recapture past glory (minus the handsex, fortunately).
  17. After both Derick and Jill commented several times about how special it was not to have a chaperine, I found myself wishing they could have had a wee bit more time as a married couple before expecting their first child.
  18. I guess there weren't any clearance rack dresses in teal or peach.
  19. And then did an Animal House worthy whoop & fist pump.
  20. The little kids on the stage steps were acting up. Josie looked like she was ready to hurl her sign ninja-like into the audience.
  21. That organ playing was more Ride of the Valkyries than Here Comes the Bride.
  22. I wonder how many times we'll see Jana's? hand diving down Jill's cleavage to modest it up.
  23. I think they were trying to do the "teal and peach with grey accents" for Jill's wedding colors, but the closest they could get was turquoise & orange. That's why Derick is wearing orange in the THs.
  24. Perhaps. With my s/o there, I probably would have tried to not imply his mother might die during the ceremony.
