Jaha. Poor Raven got such a tired, meandering storyline. Although, it does look like things will start to pick-up for her and Abby on the City of Light plots with the next episode. On Bellamy, I have no idea how they are ever going to redeem him. I don't feel that he actually really understands now how incredibly insane and destructive his actions were. It seems like he still believes he did the right thing with the Grounders but his fear of losing Octavia is what ultimately drove him to try to help Lincoln, Kane, and Sinclair. I feel like he'll probably opt to . I honestly can't wait for this season to end so I can forget all about The 100 and drop it from the DVR. Man, the Arrow threads move super fast. I'm going through everything right now and trying to speed-read all I've missed before the thing that happens tonight (because I'm weirdly OC about this forum). I have a feeling things will be, especially, busy tonight and tomorrow. I really hope the board doesn't run into any Cloudfront issues because this is my safe place and I'm legit afraid to venture into Twitter or anywhere else unless I absolutely have no other choice.

Yeah, I just read it. It was actually a really good interview. Thanks!

Curtis is joining the Team full-time in S5? Oh. I really like Echo, he seems like a fun dude. But I wasn't keen on him becoming a regular. Because that way too many masks thing is still a problem, once he becomes Mr. Terrific. Now, Lyla? YES, please! So, does this announcement of EK getting upped to regular kinda shoot down any spin about possible budget concerns that Arrow might have, which is why somebody gonna get dead on Wednesday, or nah?

Finn Jones? Loras Tyrell? Really?! Wow. Whatever miniscule of interest I had in Iron Fist kinda disappeared. Just give me season 2 of Jessica Jones already, Marvel-Netflix! Not only did they seem to forget Maseo and Tatsu but it's funny that the writer of that article seemed to forget all about Melinda May, too, who is also on AOS and is far more badass than Daisy, with or without superpowers. Is May not considered a superhero?

^ I know! I was, like, come on?! That twist was so unnecessary. Unless, then all right, I'll allow it. But I don't feel that confident about it. I feel like this has the potential to go Katrina drama-levels bad. Ugh. I really hope the new showrunners learned from the suck that was the Crane family drama and just stick with the Mills family drama, which is tons more interesting since I actually care about both Mills sisters.

I think it was a few weeks back when I mentioned that Sleepy Hollow was getting better. I just finished watching last night's episode and, while I still think this season's been pretty enjoyable mindless fun, something happened that I'm feeling very wary about-- . We'll see how that goes. I did laugh at their little product placement of Ford's new SUVs, though. There was even in-show commentary about one of its features. Heh. Also I think I'll delete The 100 from the DVR after this season is over. As much as I want to be free of it already because of all the many things that are making me side-eye it, there are still characters that I feel a little bit invested in, who are keeping me hanging on. Damn you, Octavia, Indra, Raven, and Abby/Kane! If I still watch S4, I might just wait and binge it. I feel like binging this show is better than waiting week after week when I'm left stewing on the problematic shit they pull.

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread

Me after seeing that 3x20 promo last year: Good times! -
I agree that the poeple of Starling City can be dumb. But, in the denizens of SC's defense, should Laurel actually be outed as Black Canary (and it looks like she will be since they put it in her headstone and everything), they have no real reason to suspect Oliver and company are BC's co-vigilantes since Oliver, Diggle, Thea, and Felicity were all publicly kidnapped in their civilian personas then Green Arrow and Black Canary saved them from Darhk after the Christmas Party. And Thea was so sick that she was brought to the hospital in a comatose state right after Roy/Red Arrow had just been seen with GA, BC, and Spartan. The evidence against them all are a bit circumstantial, really. So, plausible deniability.

Well, at least, the Arrow writers are being honest about their blatant re-use of sets? It was nice of the Arrow writers to kinda shine the spotlight on 2 important causes in this episodes -- The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and how bees are dying off at an alarming rate. Sure, Brie Larvan is totally batshit and it would've been nice if a nicer character mentioned the necessity that are bees but I dug her little PSA about the bees and their importance. Because they are important to our ecosystem no matter how annoying they've been portrayed as in movies, damnit! I don't understand Oliver's fighting abilities in the flashbacks. One moment, he's a "gritty" hardened "there's darkness inside of me" guy fighting off Reiter's men/#Poppy's brother and putting them down and the next, he's flailing against Reiter. Okay, Reiter was possessed with the primordial beings or whatever (I wonder if any of the writers have been reading up on Scientology or something... Hail Xenu!). Anyway, Oliver's flailing looked hilarious. It made me laugh. I, also, don't understand Oliver drawing his bow (the first time Team GA tried to save Felicity, Thea, and Donna) at the bees even before they formed into Bee-Man. Was he going to try to hit the tiny bees one by one with his arrows? If he was confident that he could actually hit bees with an arrow then mad respect Oliver. I mean, if James McAvoy can shoot the wings off a fly using a bullet, Oliver probably could do it, too, I guess. Really liked how Felicity totally blew off Mr. Dennis' texts and was okay with being late because she wanted to accommodate whatever Thea needed, first. It wasn't exactly professional of her since she's the CEO but whatever, that dude's such a dick. Second shout-out in a week to Mariah Carey by Berlanti's shows. I'm glad she exists in both Earths. It made me laugh during Supergirl and it made me smile here. I do loves me some (classic) MC.

I've disliked bees ever since that hallway scene with Scully and Mulder they stung Macaulay Culkin in My Girl (thank for the reminder that bees are such cockblockers, Arrow!) but this episode was actually pretty fun, for the most part! There was an overload of questionable acting ('sup, Emily Kinney and PT Board dude, not to mention the regular dose of flashback blandness with the Poppy/Reiter combo) but sooo many bee puns! A+ on the cheese factor, show! Some things did make me go 'huh?!' but I still enjoyed this one. I love that Felicity and Thea saved the PT Board and Donna themselves. But Felicity's whole conversation about leaving the team kind of didn't make sense to me, at first. Not the part where she needed to leave because working with Oliver hurts her but the part where she's tired of helping people/being a "Beacon of Hope" (drink each time someone mentions the episode's title!) for the City. It just didn't feel true to her character? The little bit, at the end, where she tells Thea that she has another plan to help the city did kinda clear that up a little bit more, for me. I still don't understand why she can't do both, though. It's her prerogative if she doesn't want to do both but I want her back on the Team, please! [/Oliverwhine] Curtis is just so terrific, guys. Like super amazing that he accidentally stumbled into the Arrow lair when the dozens of volunteers during Oliver's campaign for Mayor had no inkling about the ~secret elevator. And he did it while sick! I kinda wish he got there because Felicity told him where to go because, really, the lair security is a joke. I don't wike it. I still do like Curtis, though. He's goofy and his geekiness is endearing but I hope they rein in his super amazing-Gary-Stu-ness a bit. Laurel was the bee's knees in this episode. Okay, not exactly that but she didn't really bug me in any of her scenes. Or maybe that's just 'cause I was watching kinda buzzed?

Melissa and Grant are adorable together. The ice cream bit was super cute. I feel like this will be one of those times where I really like Barry more outside of his own show. I hope Barry gets to meet Alex and J'onn, too. I would much rather see him interact with Kara's family than James and Winn, tbh.

This makes sense. Thank you. This will be my headcanon then instead of thinking that the writers are using poor Thea as exposition fairy in a ridiculous way, once again (it still makes me laugh whenever I remember her shouting to no one at all that it was an unmanned machine gun firing at Jessica Danforth in 4x02).
-
Damn, Arrow writers. Why are you like this? I know you need to do the requisite exposition stuff for people who don't pay attention but WHY does it have to be Thea? It's just too unbelievable and dumb that Oliver's sister has no idea about the biostimulant. If Thea doesn't know then do Digg and Laurel and Quentin also not know how Felicity started walking again? Like, do they believe she just miraculously started walking? Oh, Arrow. I always thought Team GA had a keycode or fingerprint scanner or some other biometrics thing that was needed to be able to gain access to the lair. I guess that was just in my head? I mean, I would think extra security measures like that would be important for the security of the hidden arrowcave but what do I know? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But Felicity sending Curtis to the "secret" lair makes sense. I really hope it goes that way. Please be Felicity figuring out a way to send Curtis to the Team to help rather than him just finding the lair by terrific happenstance.

I got Rip Hunter, the first time I did it. I'm thinking whichever character you end up with may have a lot to do with which decade you choose. 'Cause I kept changing from Felicity to Digg and from an Astronaut to a Cowboy, but always the future and I still kept getting Rip. Aw... You and Palmer are totes MFEO! (I'm kidding! I'm kidding! Please don't kill me. I'm aware that your hatred for him runs deep.)

Social Media and Behind the Scenes: AKA Everything Else Not "News and Media"
SleepDeprived replied to Zalyn's topic in Arrow
Wait. They celebrate Easter Sunday on Mondays, too? I know most countries get Good Friday off, especially if it's a predominantly Catholic country, but Monday, too? Damn. A nice 4-day weekend sounds like a good reward for having to fast/abstain throughout the Fridays of Lent (for those who practice that tradition, at least). -
This movie is going to be such a wonderful birthday present for me next year. They all look so freaking badass! I'm, especially, feeling Robin Wright's look the most. I'm very hopeful that this will be great with Patty Jenkins at the helm. Hopefully, Snyder/Terrio didn't really have much influence over anything to do with Wonder Woman's movie. It amuses me greatly that it looks like the Wardrobe/Costume Dept. re-purposed Geomancer's (earthquake dude on The Flash) costume into Brie's cohort/dude in the helmet's outfit. They just made the "pecs and abs" areas a little shinier and gold-ish looking than the gray tones of Geomancer's costume plus added in those bee-hive-looking things on the sides of the suit. Nice effort, guys. Save on that budget as much as you can.
-
Agreed. It does look good and I am kinda interested in the premise of the movie. Still not going to donate to this project, though. Which doesn't really matter since they've already reached and gone over their goal already. Heh.
-
Yeah but Veronica Mars had already been an established cult classic whose fans had been wishing and hoping, for years, to see their favorite snarky PI from Neptune in action for just one more time. Me, included. I gladly contributed to that total. :) This Code 8 project is totally an unknown quantity that is banking on maybe some interest in the subject material (superheroes/robots/AU society), but mostly on the recognition/affection for/involvement of SA and RA, in helping them raise funds to produce it. That they'll be able to raise close to a quarter of a million in one/two days is quite impressive.
-
Man. Arrow fans seem like a pretty well-off group of people. They're certainly very generous and loyally support the cast's ventures. Everything SA has asked of or promoted--HVFF, SA's wine club memberships/parties, his various charities-- plus all other cons that the cast are involved with (SuperHeroes Con in France and City of Heroes in the UK) seem to have been pretty successful.
-
That is an extreme closeup of SA in the FB live video. I actually leaned back from my laptop because SA's face (while lovely) was just way too in my face. Heh. 2 Truths: a) The ark mention--Probably related to Genesis since H.I.V.E.'s plan seems to be wiping the whole world (or just Starling City) and saving the chosen few in an ark of sorts (the underground cornfield?). Kinda like in the bible. b) Oliver leaves the island--'Cause he's finally going to Russia now. Probably. A Lie: Alex is nowhere to be seen--I think we'll be seeing him again, either working with/joining H.I.V.E. so he can be "saved" or being an actual good guy who ends up trying to help but then becomes one of the casualties of Genesis.

Yikes! I do feel sorta bad that, since Batfleck is getting praised a lot for what should've been a Superman sequel, this might mean that Superman won't get his own movie for a very long time. Poor Superman. It seems like he's always in Batman's shadow when it comes to the DCCU. Eh. Whatever. I don't care about the dudes in capes, anyway. As far as I'm concerned, I'm fine with Henry Cavill just looking pretty while Batfleck broods like only Batman can. My main priority is Wonder Woman. And, from what I've read of reactions so far, she is, by far, the BEST thing about the entire movie. Which fills me with so much glee. I'll happily cheer every minute she'll be onscreen, however short it might end up being. I've waited so long to see Wonder Woman on the big screen. Also, even if I do feel that Amy Adams is kinda miscast as Lois/doesn't have as much chemistry with Henry in MOS as I'd like, I can't help but like her in every movie I've seen her in. She'll always be Princess Giselle to me. And she seems like such a sweetheart IRL, too. Not exactly a fanboy (am fangirling Wondy hard, though!) but I am ignoring the reviews and am already set to watch this 2x, actually (once with family, another time with friends). But I read somewhere that the movie needs to make more than $1 Billion worldwide since the production budget for this was massive. Add in the marketing and promotions and, if the movie makes less than $1B then BvS might actually end up being a loss for the WB this year. This is totally unsubstantiated info, though, since I don't think the studio has officially released their budget for this yet? Good thing the WB still have Suicide Squad in their DCCU stable coming up in August, which looks like it might just make a killing in the box office.

I've been catching-up on the pile of season 3 episodes on my DVR of Sleepy Hollow the past few weeks and man, it has gotten sooo much better since they got rid of Crane's family. I'm loving the renewed focus on Abby (and Jenny) and some of the MOTW have seriously been creepy, which is awesome. That Crane family drama really dragged the show down last season. I'm kinda hoping they get to have a season 4 now but from what little of it I've read online, the ratings aren't too hot this season. It'd be such a shame to lose the show now that they've finally gotten back on track.
