  1. Irritatingly, the episode got pre-empted in the DC area because the channel opted to run a 45 minute weather warning about possible tornadoes half a farkin' state away. Which cut out half of Bob <3's Abishola, too.
  2. Did anyone else notice the light stand positioned near the stage, behind the racers at the music challenge? It's in a fleeting couple of shots, on the left side of the screen. Reason I bring it up is that I believe that's how the producers communicated to the judge if the flag order was correct; the couple times you see it flash, it's either green/red/green/red (which corresponded to the lower third graphic with check marks and X's) or all green (for the beard bros getting it right). It's not lit for a long time, just enough to communicate a yes or no result from the judge. Which means that if I ever run the Race, to not only pay attention to where my camera guy is pointing taking a shot when I can't find a clue, to also sneaking a peek around me at a judge station to try and catch a glimpse of any outside messaging for correct answers. 😄
  3. Gah, it really should've ended with Finch and the Machine Gang 2.0 stepping from the shadows and inviting Miles, Cara, and Rakesh into the fold. That crossover/handoff has been stuck in my head since the whole "DARPA" reveal. Slightly tangential: My neighbor works for DARPA and has watched the show in pieces. I tease him mercilessly about it and if he's gotten any new friend suggestions....
  4. Huh, you might be right. It's been ages since I've seen JoA, but that last scene really stuck out, even still. It caused a lot of interesting discussion in the Bear household.
  5. So am I the only one who immediately thought at the twist reveal, that it was similar to how Joan of Arcadia's first season ended with the arrival of the Devil? I think it was the red coat that triggered that thought.
  6. Thank you so much! I got the gist of the ending, which helps immensely.
  7. Seriously pissed. We have GFM set on the DVR to overextend by 30 min due to Fall football shenanigans, and never changed it. Which is good in the sense that we caught 50 minutes of Sunday's ep, rather than 20 (because basketball also does bleed, apparently). AND THE DVR CUT OFF RIGHT WHEN CARA AND MILES SHOWED UP AT THE BEASON'S APARTMENT. There's apparently no article recaps any more (ah, the days of TWoP and when here actually did writing), just video. Which, when you're aching to find out just WTF happened, isn't a solution. (Oh, want to watch the episode? Download our app! Sit through all our ads! Sign up for our site!) I've had to parse out what happened by reading the forum here...so I'm assuming that the two girls were connected due to an organ donor/surgery? And that Cara isn't telling Miles about the interview? Ugh. So annoyed.
  8. D'oh! Damn. Oh well. Guess I'm not an Ashmore expert. 😄 (Also, I failed IMDB-fu, too.)
  9. Just FYI, Aaron Ashmore has had a small recurring role recently on The Rookie as a very Johnny-esque lawyer. And I happened to catch Hannah John-Kamen on an older episode of Death in Paradise. Which was cool, because my wife recognized her from Antman and the Wasp and "that scifi bounty hunter show you watch." 🙂
  10. In my headcanon, I'm firmly convinced the God Account is really just Northern Lights v2.0. 😄 Any minute now, I expect the Machine Gang to make an appearance in the background.
  11. Right before that reveal with Paraminder, I commented to my wife how cool it would be if in the apartment was Harold Finch.... Let the Person of Interest crossover begin. 😊 Seriously though, we so much adore this show and its cast.
  12. Ms. Bear and I were discussing this the other night too, after noticing the scheduling shenanigans. We're hoping CK continues - it's easily our favorite show on FN - and wouldn't mind it if Richard Blais takes over as host. Though our top pick would be Antonia.
  13. :) Thanks. I plan on incorporating them into my larger cityscape scene when I do my winter flip (for the holidays). I still need to find a suitable minifig setup for Carter, too.
  14. I was bored one day and plowing through a bunch of my LEGO... Behold, the Machine Gang.
  15. I'm not 100% sure, but Jessica may need to pay for a credit check to be done - and she doesn't do well with paying for 'fluff' services. Remember how much she scoffed about termites and blew off having an inspection?
  16. https://www.yahoo.com/tv/39-deadliest-catch-39-season-12-boasts-big-1370066074165302.html Wow, Captain Keith separated? Time Bandit fined? Saga repainted? Josh had to sell his majority? (YAAAAY!) This one's proving interesting.
  17. Because driving from Orlando to DC is an 18-24 hour trip (depending on how crappy I-95 is). That's a long round-trip run for a 3-day weekend. (I've driven that trek a few times. It sucks balls.) Absolutely loved this episode! When it got to the AAAOO party with all the "associated Asians" I looked at Ms. Bear and commented "Remember what I told you about white people organizing a pow-wow at university? This, right here." The bad tattoos had me rolling, as did the crack about Chinatown in DC and their penchant for fireworks. Because, totally true. :D
  18. If you can wait, and force your DVR to record the 1 am repeat, those fan pics and tweets magically disappear. :) Regarding Danny - Ms. Bear and I wondered if they didn't air any footage with Jon/Andy conjecturing about Danny doing it because Disco didn't have any concrete footage of him doing it. I'm sure if they had, it'd be all over the episode. So instead, they let Andy harp on about Jon being lazy - and even then, we wondered if that was a put-on. My thinking is, if they'd aired them accusing Pscyho-cookie-monster of sabotaging the pots, the crazy boy would've filed a defamation lawsuit against Disco and the TB. (He's crazy enough to do it, methinks.) So they danced around it but made it as obvious as possible it was Danny's doing without actually saying it. (My nebulous proof? The specific re-airing of his threats to the ship, and Jon's repeated concerns of what Danny would've done if he'd fired him on the spot, away from the dock.) Kind of shocking, too, to hear Wild Bill say he's had him on as crew before, and would've hired him for this season. I wonder if that was pre-camera times, when he was on the Kodiak? Danny must've really been a crazed camera whore (more than Josh!) and chose to go the 'kooky aggressor' route, but it went all kinds of wrong when Philip and Axel wouldn't take his shit.
  19. For those of you stuck with the TwitterTrash during the prime time showing, you'll be pleased to know the rebroadcast (I think at 1 am EST?) doesn't have any of it at all! Which is when we record it because of other Tuesday show conflicts. I'm glad they did pull all the corner screen crap from the regular DC episodes. Such a waste of screen space.
  20. Thanks for the input, TrininisaScorp. Wasn't trying to dis Orlando; was going off my aging recollection of living there. (I grew up in Orlando through high school in the 80s and then my father relocated us all to Chicago.) That, and the sporadic visits to family still there, which clearly doesn't translate into living there as you do. Props for representing the city properly!
  21. HUGELY different. Orlando's a wannabe-metropolitan city with a larger older-white-snowbird population. It's struggled for years to create some sort of identity for itself that isn't "Disney" or "theme park." Whenever I go back there to visit family, I'm constantly in awe of just how white-middle class-blase the place still is. And have a sore neck from the constant "smh" moments when encountering locals. (Or my family.) I currently live in DC but grew up in Orlando (through my teen years), so the cultural disparity totally rings true for me.
  22. Which means it has to be cutting stuff, as the original run ep (with all the screen crap) runs 1 hr 6 min. Which is annoying as hell.
  23. Not only is the Twitter crap annoying, so is the promo bug at the top left corner. That's three corners now clogged with crap, and it impedes the viewing area. I feel like I'm watching YouTube and want desperately to "click" the crap off my screen.
  24. I'm of the opinion that Ward did sight and shoot Buddy from a distance. He fired the gun to give the dog a fighting chance to escape, and used the sniper rifle to track and shoot the dog. (They showed Ward using the rifle earlier.) They didn't, however, show if he actually *hit* the dog, but that's immaterial to the point about his conflicted character they're showing....Ward's "weakness" means he can't/won't shoot someone defenseless in front of him, but to convince himself to follow orders without the baggage, gives them a fighting chance to survive. That's given some weight when you consider how his "execution" of FitzSimmons went down. He could've outright killed them both in hand-to-hand, but didn't. Instead, he gave them a fighting chance to survive by ejecting them from the plane. In his mind, he carried out his orders without having to do it in cold blood. It's splitting hairs, but to someone like Ward, that hair becomes a lifeline to sanity. I'm really liking what they've done with his character, and cannot wait to see how it all plays out.
