  1. I wondered why the women, or at least some of them, were allowed to have fully functioning phones. Someone could call 911, or whatever. I didn't get how the two girls served the drug sale. But then, I didn't get the op from the first episode that had them going to the airport. I liked Teresa's explanation that if she knows too little she's disposable. Clearly she will observe everything and learn and eventually run her own "business". I've never seen the telenovela but I hope they take their time getting there. That said, they veered dangerously close to special snowflake-dom with Teresa this ep. Yeah, she was on the perifery of the drug trade, but, she's never been steeped in it and her situation now is dire. She doesn't know everything and she's not seasoned. Yet.
  2. Agree. Have always felt opening credits were super cheesy. New ones even cheesier. I always tell people they must watch Killjoys but not to be put off by the opening credits as the show is umpteen times better. I'm thrilled this show is back. It makes me so happy to spend an hour in this world with these characters. Loved everything about this episode. No quibbles. Just give me more :)
  3. So, do the four brothers all have different fathers? Is that what that conversation was about? Smurf saying that Catherine was ungrateful…her feigned reluctance to say it. I couldn't tell if that was a veiled threat or not. And I couldn't read Baz's reaction. Pope cuddling with Smurf didn't seem especially disturbing only because she has such a disturbing relationship with ALL her sons.
  4. Cassidy slurping the blood off the floor of the church had me howling! The chainsaw/arm thing too was awesome. This episode had a less cohesive pacing than the pilot, but still lots of fun. I love how they threw a crap ton of WTF at us in the pilot and they're continuing to pile it on here. Really liking the show, especially since I have no comic book baggage to hinder my enjoyment.
  5. With all the dreck that clogs the airwaves it's just incomprehensible to me that a smart, clever, fun show like Limitless gets canned. What a gut punch.
  6. Deacon is like a cockroach. Can't be killed. Which I'm cool with as Todd Stashwick makes any show better. Even the already really, really good shows. ;)
  7. Rewatching… D'avin: You're a creepy little dude. Alvis: Thank you. This exchange! Their expressions and delivery. I love this show.
  8. With all the plot holes and sketchy logic I'm wondering… Is the U.S. getting a heavily edited version? Because otherwise, hooboy. I am enjoying it though, albeit with a lot of eye rolling. The whole alarm testing contrivance for one. Jed being surprised that Roper knows about her kid, even though she keeps his picture in a drawer, that Pine found in the first 15 seconds. Bringing Pine in on a part of the business based on…what exactly? Much hand waving required. My wrists are fatigued.
  9. You don't destroy a virulent and lethal virus by throwing some lighter fluid on it and lighting a match. Yeesh I'm not liking the new Cassie only because I think the actress isn't up to the task. She's fairly one note. I don't remember… how did they resolve the issue with time travel slowly killing Cole?
  10. "My absolute favorite part was the way Elizabeth said "I don't know" when Philip asked "Do you think that guy is really a priest?". Keri deserves an Emmy just for that." Yeah, that was perfect. Why is the sex on this show so very, reliably, awkward?
  11. Matt comes back to his loft after the trial and Elecktra says, "You lost. But not just the trial." Then Matt replies with something like, "It doesn't matter." Really Matt? You're blowing off two good friends with that comment. Not sure what the writers are trying to convey here. I don't think Matt is that fickle, so is he just trying to not worry Elecktra? Or is he so sure that the damage he's caused is easily fixed?
  12. Liked: Chloe and Dr. Linda interacting and working together. Disliked: I think "douche" was uttered more often than Deb said "fuck" on an episode of Dexter. Enough. Overall: Love Dr. Linda!
  13. This Smoove guy was on once before? And they asked him BACK?! For why? He isn't remotely funny. Ross Marquand's voice is yummy, agreed. I'd forgotten how pretty he is; we haven't seen him hardly at all for a while.
  14. I think Rebecca is lying to Brian about the evidence clerk being dead. I think she spoke to him and knows Brian was there. If so, it will be interesting to see how that could play out. I like the light, comedic tone of the series. It's fun. But I'd also like to see it go more serious, more dark at times. It would have more punch in comparison.
  15. 2/4/16 tweet from Tom: Don't forget you lovely tweeple I'm going to be talking #lucifer amongst other things with @JKCorden on @latelateshow tonight!!!!
  16. Yes, I did notice that "Devil's Threesome". Heh. While Lucy has chosen a male persona, and over two eps we've been shown he clearly likes the ladies, I like that they've hinted he's…inclusive. It would be great if he, at some point, found some guy rather dishy and/or seduced a man in the pursuit of solving a case. And speaking of cases, I sure hope they start to move away from the procedural COTW and more towards exploring the politics of heaven/hell and Lucy's existential angst. They don't have to drop case solving entirely but it will get tired fast. And, I have a time question. They've said Lucifer left Hell 5 years ago. But only now DB Angel is trying to get him to come back? Does this have to do with time slowing when he shows up? I'm not good with timey wimey stuff.
  17. In that scene with 2 Vile Lucifer isn't dissing hip hop. He goes out of his way to make clear he doesn't like 2 Vile, specifically. At that moment Lucifer thinks Vile had Delilah killed so he gets very pointed with him.
  18. "I took that more as a meta joke because the actress playing Sandy is a professional dancer, isn't she?" I laughed at her line, " Who wants to watch a bunch of amateur dancers on tv?" Talk about meta. The camera work and overall logistics and choreography of the production as a whole were amazing. But the miccing of most of the singing left a lot to be desired. I think that contributed to the lagging energy in many scenes. Also, were sound issues the reason some songs were tracks for the West coast airing? Specifically SandraDee and Sandy.
  19. Watched the pilot again and two things I picked up this time. 1) D.B Woodside uttering the word "demons". Flashback! Especially since he hasn't aged one iota since Buffy. 2) At the very end, when Lucifer and DBW are talking in the street, he calls him "Lucy". Too funny. And oh how I envy Dr. Linda.
  20. So Uhtred is all broken up over the death of the son that he ABANDONED. Got it. I'm gutted that Leofrich died. I loved that character. No one to call Uhtred assling anymore. And when did the priest become so bloodthirsty and good in a battle? Lastly, the Danish leader converts to Christianity? What did I miss? That seemed to come out of nowhere.
  21. Uhtred is kinda dumb. I knew the other Dane would double-cross them and Uhtred's group made it so easy for them to do so. The plotting is simplistic and juvenile. Uhtred instantly falls in love with every pretty face. Though to my eye they're having a hard time finding pretty woman who are anywhere near as pretty as AD.
  22. I was confused when Brida told Uhtred that she didn't know she was pregnant when she drank the concoction she made. I assumed she was mixing something to make her miscarry when they showed her doing it. I never heard her mention a "vision quest". In fact I have a hard time understanding a lot of the dialogue. The unfamiliar names don't help.
  23. [Mod Note: This topic is a result of separate episode topics being merged into one, as such some comments may be out of order.] Hope it's ok to start an episode thread. I really liked it. However, especially at the beginning, I couldn't distinguish one male character from another. They were all dressed pretty much the same, had grizzled beards, and had a lot of facial similarities. But I think I've got it straight now that most of them are dead. The kid that played young Uhtred was really good I thought. Grown up Uhtred is Channing Tatum's hotter brother. I LOLed at the bathing-in-the-river fake out. I'll definitely be back for more.
  24. I shouted at the screen, "It's only a flesh wound!".
  25. This was fairly bad. Draggy and badly acted a lot of it. A bit of Gladiator and The Return of Martin Guerre thrown in, and something else... What could it be? Something with a blond, shaggy protagonist hell bent on revenge, revenge, revenge. Hmmm
