Phyllis looks like a clown in her disguise get up. Sure, everyone walks around in July, dressed in all black with a hat, and it totally does not attract any curious onlookers. I would give anyone I saw dressed like that today a sympathetic nod, assuming they had just come from or were going to a funeral. If Summer's top had been cut any lower, we could have found out if this character is being played by a human, or a CGI. Gave a whole new meaning to navel watching. At least if Summer was a CGI, there would be the hope of reprogramming. This actress's attempts at playing her, not so much. Today's show was just more of the same: stupid family corporate plots, horribly written, actors with little true enthusiasm for performing such dreck. Attempting to illuminate the viewer by Sharon's contrasting metaphor of corporate management, with baking. What a half-baked idea. The GC Bookstore probably still has a window display touting the book, "Eat, Pray, Love." Has JG managed to summon up enough interest, energy, or talent, to at least write Christian off to camp for a few weeks this summer?

No, the movers were there to supervise an armoured car with security guards, that are not from NE, to transport the Neil Winters all important picture (still a prominent character on the show due to not needing written lines) from Devon's penthouse, to the Chancellor mansion. Neil and Katherine would have wanted it that way.

"Another World" was the soap I lived for! When my 45 y/o son and I get together after a separation (he's left coast, I'm south east) we still sing the theme song for a laugh!! We were so obsessed when Anne Heche played twins. And Ray Liotta....yum!

Watching the rerun retro 4th of July episode today was bittersweet. It is making me less inclined to view what at present is being offered up. I guess the best analogy I can come up with is seeing how really great this show once was, made me think it's current condition is more like "Grey Gardens."

Did Audra check into Danny Romalotti's old room and find that white bedazzled jacket she was sporting with Kyle in the park today? Or was she going for a "dead Elvis" vibe? If Sharon wants to make good use of Cameron's bequest, she should consider hiring 2-3 licensed and effective therapists to work at Crimson Lights! None of her former customers seem to have thrived under her reign, and Cameron himself did tell her she could do better things with her life, right before she killed him.

I started watching soaps in 1955, at age 5. "Love of Life" & "Guiding Light." Made a pilgrimage for a "meet and greet" of Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) @ the New Orleans World Fair in 1984. Never walked away from a soap because of angry feelings about a character, but my sense of anger now (which has caused me to opt out from viewing quite a bit lately) is at writer JG's giving us poorly written plots, and his terrible scripting of people involved in them

It's a soap opera, not Shakespeare. The whole genre has been based for decades on viewers watching and liking some characters, disliking others, holding grudges, and hate watching, etc. Soap Opera 101.

You know we had 2 Ashton Lockes and the Velour Starke, who were both identified as being badder than bad, bad Leroy Brown, and meaner than junkyard dogs, for months on our screens. We finally get a bonafide badass with Cameron, and he's rapidly dispatched with. IMO, he was one of the best actors they've had on set in several years. That made it pretty clear to me why his time on the Y&R was limited, with his skills, he can probably still land other gigs, unlike the rest of the cast. Well, Michael did do Broadway recently, but the rest of them could probably only work in a direct to video flick called "Sleepwalkers' Ranch."

Guess today's episode's common theme was "Justifiable Homicide" featuring Phyllis and Sharon. The huge hole in the narrative was the elimination of Phyllis' responsibility and agency in bringing Velour Starke to GC in the 1st place, to terrorize and possibly murder the object of her psychotic obsessions, Diane. The scenes between Phyllis and Michael were some of the worst yet, they both seemed off and amateurish to me, with very little acting from either of them apparent. More like two buddies getting together and doing a script reading. Sharon and Nick giving their pathetic attempts at being bogus emotional support people to Sally and Adam. Sally seems to have gone all Goth (or did they cut the lighting directors too?) with pale skin and darker hair to either accentuate her grief, or alert us to the fact that the show no longer seems to employ any hairdressers. The budget has also either quit paying for Sharon's extensions, she is fighting traction baldness from wearing them for so long, or she's decided to go for a summer of, "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee." Only uplifting part was the pending incarceration of Summer, my only caveat to that is: Why is it taking so long?

IMO, if Kyle hooks up with Audra, afterwards that pompadour of his will look like he stuck his finger into an electric light socket. I totally agree with you regarding Sally's financially motivated maternal aspirations, to the point where I silently refer to that baby as "Hava Hope."

OMG Nick went to the hospital still wearing his sewer shirt. He was hugging post C-section Sally in it. Is there no end to the careless indifference to details on this show? I disliked Victor telling Adam all he had to do to get support from him was "ask," which seemed peculiar, based on how he is always proactively monitoring Victoria's life for any little problem he can fix, before she even knows she has one. I guess there will be alot of test dummies for Danny & Chelsea's Omega Sphere mental fitness game this summer, with all the trauma that's recently made the rounds. Maybe Billy will need to set up a permanent advice booth for the suicidal. I see that Sharon and Nick might be able to start group therapy/coffee klatsch sessions for the recently homicidal at Crimson Lights now. They seemed very comfortable sitting round schmoozing while still wearing their post sewer attire, discussing their justifiable manslaughters. IMO, much more so then Nick did trying to comfort Sally in his infested clothes

Go, ahead, call me a slacker, but I tuned out when Sharon prioritized rustling up soup and grilled cheese sammiches rather than Faith and her getting some showers and into clean clothes. Hadn't they just spent more than a few hours in a sewer? They wouldn't have been sitting anywhere in my house. Spent the rest of the show studying CEU's to renew my nursing license. I guess I got subliminally motivated by the woeful lack of supporting medical staff in the GC hospital. Not even the usual social worker to talk with a patient after an infant death.

Watched the last few minutes....long enough to catch the drift that today's theme was "Save the mom or my kid?" for both Nick & Adam. I think Sharon might be getting a new outfit as soon as Faith is no longer "The Bomb." The guy that played Cameron is a great actor, IMO. I laughed out loud during the previews when Nick started challenging Chance's competency at explosives disarming! Like, just what would have been Big Nick's back-up plan? Call the Newman Enterprises fabulous security guards?

Gallbladder stones or inflammation, also. Sitting around that hotel room, or laying in bed, combined with a diet of "take out" food has been no bueno.

Seems like the show has an inordinate number of feminine victims: Faith, Sharon, Victoria, and Elena. Sally had been abandoned by Nick, while he rescues Sharon, Chelsea requires that Billy buttress her up with her parenting, and life in general. Phyllis, Diane, Summer? All primary or secondary victims of Stark. Ashley getting set up now to be abused by Tucker. I find these storylines to be regressive in every way, and the gratuitous abuse and violence involved in the Cameron, Faith, & Sharon storyline will have me "noping" out on this show for now.

So are the show's hairdressers completely gone now? Because Ashley, Abby, and Sally today? IMO, all of them should have refused to perform, until someone got their heads into a presentable state. The bickering scene with the Abbott siblings, and their significant others was gratuitous, nothing to advance any plot other than being filler between commercials. Billy and Chelsea discussing Connor's mental health being hereditary? Maybe Chelsea should save that conversation to have with Connor's father first. And let's be sure everyone knows that personality disorders (psychopathy, narcissism) like Chelsea's are not genetic. More likely, Connor, as most teenagers will, has seen thru the facades of the so-called adults surrounding him, and it sickens him, just as much as it revolts me to watch. I would say the adults around him have feet of clay, but that would be a gross overestimation. Overall, the entire episode was styrofoam packaging in support of the last 15 seconds of Sharon learning where Faith was bound and gagged, and get her orders of how to proceed from Cameron. I've seen that hairstyle (or lack of) on women like Nikki before! It is exactly how they look after the shampoo girl has finished, and put them back into their wheelchair to wait, until they are ready for their hair rollers or blow dry. The longer Summer sports that peach accordion pleated jumpsuit, the worse it gets. Nope to the matching lipstick, and she needs to get her "team" on the same track. Right now, they are all over the place, one high, one sideways and low. Glad to see Victor checking out Nate and Audra's "It's a Small World" ride domination plans. Bad move for Grampire to assist in that EMT search. Oh, my, art imitates life today!! Show has kidnapped Faith. What a metaphorical plot device here ... same as the audience's faith in this show was kidnapped, a long, long time ago.

Maybe Stark was as sick of Phyllis' curtain style hairdo as I am, and was planning on giving her a less identifiable "look" before she took off to start her new identity? Should have brandished some pliers, and a file, to modify her veneers too.

Nobel Prize nominations this year will be October 2-9, 2023. Looking forward to Phyllis getting nominated for the genius and courage she demonstrated in murdering Stark. Phyllis is having a real easy time with her lines these days: "I'm sorry. It's my fault. I'll make this right. I'm sorry." Wash, rinse repeat. Kyle looked like he was auditioning for a laxative or stool softener ad today-so constipated. So the only plot point for Faith coming back to GC was for Cameron to murder her cat? Gratuitous violence, IMO. Sharon or Nick can't extrapolate that occurrence to suggest Cameron might escalate to humans, and go for another Sharon/Nick adjacent victim like Mariah, her baby, pregnant Sally, or Christian-in-the garage? No bottom veneers on Nick's chaw stained lower teeth today, looks so low class for a supposed scion of GC's elite. Where are his teeth? Soaking in a Dixie Cup in Sharon's bathroom? How's he gonna take a bite out of crime? I guess the customers having to drink their coffee @ Crimson Lights, without their complimentary therapy sessions from the cafe au lait counselor, will be expecting price reductions. Anyway, wondering if Duper Girl ran away with her mom? I blame Diane, lol.

Yeah, I am a human animal that was hurt by viewing that scene. To add insult to injury, it looked identical to my cat, Buddy. You are right, the person responsible for it needs to be held accountable.

So show jumped the shark today with a cat corpse. Maybe they can hang Borgnine's pic next to Neil's at the Winters Jazz Lounge. Congratulations, Kyle! You found out you're married to a version of Phyllis 2.0. That double breasted suit did Nostrils no favors, I expected him to break into the old soft shoe revue, twirling a cane and waving a straw hat at any moment. Glad Kyle walked out on Liar Girl, let's hope he just keeps going, heh?

Confess to not being able to watch most of this episode. Thought Ashley had a "Baby Jane" look going with her hairdo. "I've written a letter to Daddy..." and I was relieved when Tucker more or less told her to move on from the obsessions of the Coven. She is too accomplished and intelligent for this IMO, whatever her concerns about her Jackie and Jabot. Then Phyllis came on with more of her deflections and dissembling, so I noped out. If anyone from the show production staff reads here, this is the stuff of Dynasty and Dallas, circa 1980. This IMO is NOT anything that will attract the young female summer viewers the show hopes to hook. These are not patterns of behavior young women respect anymore, no matter "What Diane Did." It is categorized now as mean girl at least, and bullying. It is also ageist towards the actresses performing this storyline. Most women of their ages, possessing the financial, educational, vocational, and social statuses enjoyed by the Coven, would not see Diane as anything more than a trifling annoyance that they would have ample resources to deal with in the here and now, should the occasion occur.

ITA. The ways the coven have tried to "force the universe" to expose Diane has been repugnant to watch, in the light that not one of them can claim to be standing on a moral foundation superior to Diane's. They could have all sat there with their mouths shut and let life play out. Jack and Kyle would have just looked like well-intentioned idiots. As things stand now, even if they were "right" about Diane, the coven participants all look psychotically obsessed by a need for revenge that they seem to have been personally spared for their own misdeeds. IMO, this is a storyline suffused with horribly misogynistic stereotypical tropes. A terrible look for women in general. I am surprised these actresses agree to continue perpetuating this narrative, whether Diane is ultimately revealed to be "guilty" or not.
