  1. Is there something wrong with him? I mean medically?
  2. Another fun episode. Contrary to our feverish speculation, no one had Covid, there were no fights, and no one quit. It was mostly very mellow. Even Shanna and Lamar were getting along! Poor Marai though. I have to keep reminding myself that even though she comes across as sweet and adorable, she's actually a tough-as-nails, driven Olympic competitor. I don't think she'll just curl up in bed and give up. I laughed to see Cynthia wearing the giant purse on her head at the nomination ceremony. It looked so random. Meanwhile I noticed Todd pulling his hoodie up for what he probably expected to be his nomination. He was probably as surprised as ChrisK when it wasn't him. I know Todrick is good socially, but how many alliances can one person handle? It occurs to me that part of the CBB contract probably says that they won't show the celebs doing anything stupid or super embarrassing. Otherwise I doubt if they'd get anyone. It's just a theory though. We'll see. Everyone is being so reasonable and good-natured. I wonder how long it will last?
  3. Yes, he will, as soon as the live feeds start. (Whenever that is!)
  4. I'm going to watch that! (Between Covid and winter, I'll watch anything.)
  5. What does he mean "I don't know what she's doing"? 😁
  6. I thought the same about Lamar. I'm not a fan of Carson's especially, but I thought he made the perfect host for the first episode. He was funny, charming, and made everyone feel at ease, which was badly needed.
  7. I just read the links you sent, and watched a YouTube video about her "diet". Up till now, all I heard was how boring Teddi was. Now I can't wait to watch her, to see what a mastermind of wellness and scammery she is. If nothing else, she's going to do whatever it takes to win $250,000. Scruples don't appear to be a problem for her.
  8. I'm all in! 🤣 (With you, not with Teddi and her expensive starvation..) This whole scam is so extreme that I have to ask if it actually is $40/day, or were you joking? This is all horrifying. I can't imagine how much mental and physical damage this program has done. Meanwhile, now I cannot wait to see what Teddi actually eats, and whether or not she tries to brow beat the other celebs over eating more than a toddler's worth of food per day. (Good luck with that. These celebs didn't get where they are without having very definite ideas about what and how they want to eat.) Now I'm dying to see Teddi trying to tell Meisha she's eating too much. 😁😁
  9. He did seem very uncomfortable, standing off to the side a lot. I think a lot of comedians are notorious for being quite unfunny and often shy or cranky in person. I was just shocked they let him do the challenge, falling down onto the mat, given the fact he broke his neck a few years ago. It seems awfully risky.
  10. Oh no, what's the story with Teddi and food? Is she the self-appointed clean eating police? I'm in favour of lots of drama, obviously, as long as the drama doesn't all happen off-screen, ending with them cancelling the season. I haven't forgotten the huge letdown when that season of BBCan got shut down by Covid just as things were getting good. (Maybe if I say it out loud it won't happen. I'm really counting on CBB and this thread to get me one month closer to spring.)
  11. On RHAP they're speculating that either someone quit or else someone is getting tested for Covid. Just speculation!
  12. I had the impression that the celebrities were playing for charity. Do they keep the money?
  13. I was about to say, "It's simple. Call them Chris K and Chris...... K?" I see the problem. 😁. Can we call them Kattan and Kirkpatrick?
  14. Julie said someone had to volunteer to be host, and Todd seemed happy to do it.
  15. I really enjoyed this! It was a lot of fun. I don't think so. I think that was Justin Timberlake. I'm pretty sure Chris has back issues, like a fused spine or something. He looks like he did, so I was surprised he was able to do the challenge. I thought Carson and Cynthia were great choices to greet everyone. Cynthia's faces when she had no clue who she was greeting made me laugh. I think Carson will generally be a very popular HG. Marai looked adorable in her ice princess dress, but the UFC fighter looked incredible and super dramatic, hanging there in that gorgeous blood-red gown, covered in gold. I don't know if she has a sense of humour though, so that could work against her. I have to admit that so far no one is rubbing me the wrong way, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Another blizzard coming, so it's not like I have anything else planned. 😏
  16. My mid-winter/Covid blahs are so bad that I actually keep looking at the clock to see when the show starts. Isn't that sad? That tells you how exciting my week has been so far. One thing I'm looking forward to is discovering unexpected quirks of the HGs. Wasn't it Joey Lawrence who turned out to spend almost an hour a night on his facial skincare routine? I didn't see that coming. And Shannon Elizabeth, who started out so cheerful and fun turned out to be incredibly tightly wound, and almost obsessive about her extremely restrictive vegan diet, about which she had zero humour. That also surprised me. Sometimes it's the celebs you least expect to be weird or crazy who are the weirdest, and the ones you fully expect to be obnoxious and bonkers, like Tom Green, turn out to be quite likeable and low key. Can't wait to see who is which this season!
  17. The opening credits are gorgeous. But... I'm probably not going to be able to keep watching this. The production values, the clothes, sets, etc. all fantastic. But the stilted dialogue! The "witticisms"! The complete lack of real humour! I'm experiencing non-stop cringe. I mean I feel physically uncomfortable. It's like a play written by androids. They know what words humans use but not how actual humans talk. Since I've seen some of these actors be breathtakingly good in other roles (Carrie C in The Leftovers!) I know it has to be the writing and the direction. I don't think I'm going to be able to overlook this much longer. I'll probably still come here to this thread though to keep up with the story. Who knows? Maybe things will gel later in the season and I'll come back. ETA. One last gripe before I go. Although I find Cynthia Nixon's character to be one of the most likeable in the cast, I find the way they have her relating to her sister to be incredibly unrealistic. Agnes is pretty much one-note, endlessly critical, stern and biting, always bossing Ada around, while Ada looks on at all times smiling and serene, acting almost oblivious. Yet it's not a case where Ada looks on Agnes's bitterness fondly, like she's a cranky child. Agnes has real power, and everyone walks on eggshells around her, except for Ada who just smiles and occasionally contradicts Agnes without looking nervous. There is literally no way this dynamic would exist in the real world. At the very least, Ada would feel hidden resentment at Agnes, or struggle to conceal her true feelings of disappointment and disagreement with the woman who had all the money. I find the characterization of Ada to be shallow, like she's too simple to do anything but smile and say kind things. (Like Beth in Little Women.) Sorry, that was weird but I needed to say it. Carry on. 😁
  18. I agree about Marian, but one of Meryl's daughters (I think Mamie?) was incredible in Mr. Robot.
  19. I'm so ready. Between Covid and winter, I need a good distraction and I've already watched Netflix. All of it. Sounds nice! I don't know who decided it wasn't BB if the colour scheme didn't make the eyes fall out of your head. I'm glad they've finally pulled out the big decorating guns for these world class entertainment icons. Anything for the celebs. 😁 (I get why fading celebrities go on these shows. It must be awful to have to give up the perks and power even D listers have. Not that I would know.)
  20. Those videos are unavailable to Canadians. 😢. Give us a hint?
  21. The danger of an older cast on CBB is that they'll all be so aware of being filmed, and with so much past experience, that everyone will be super guarded and boring. Or act out in very calculated ways. Let's hope not.
  22. That's so interesting! I never knew this. Watching that video, you see why the richer women had ladies maids to look after their clothes and help them dress, and do their hair. I get claustrophia at the thought of having to be encased in a corset and/or all that heavy fabric. Just getting dressed and undressed two or three times would have taken up half their day.
  23. I just started watching Rob and Taran on RHAP discussing the CBB cast and they both admitted they hardly knew who any of these people were. Rob's comment was "We saw the list and we were....whelmed." 😁
  24. Yes, I think this could be the least known bunch of "celebrities" we've had so far. I'll still watch though because it's in February. Nothing else to do but stare at snowbanks and try to stop eating so much. 😁
