  3. Joe Mantegna is posting about it. Looks like filming will begin soon.
  4. Yes, it did. But even at the time, when I watched this as a kid, I wondered how she could have thought it would have been easy or romantic to "keep the home fires burning". How she didn't know people would worry about their loved ones fighting in a war. Even with the romanticism of Hollywood movies, there was still movies like The Fighting O'Sullivans about a family that lost all 6 of their children in the war, and many other examples. Didn't she learn death counts and all that in history classes? I couldn't buy that even Charlene would be that naïve. I could see it still being harder than she expected, but maybe play it out differently.
  5. I think he's all those things - handsome and sweet, and a little bland and boring, :)
  6. I live in St Paul and have actually met him. He is a really nice guy.
  7. I didn't like this either. Didn't make me dizzy, but I just didn't like it. I also thought with that smaller bathroom the shower surround should have been the color of the walls (or close to that) to make the space look bigger. I understand why they removed the coat closet, but I also don't like the lack of coat closet a the entrance. Where do they put coats and boots and such? I didn't see an attached garage with a mudroom or anything. I thought this looked odd, too. And good point about hitting your head. That said, I did like the rest. So overall a good reno. I was also surprised it didn't sell for more.
  8. Chef Justin Sutherland seriously injured in July 4th boating accident I'm surprised with all the restaurants he's opened and all the TV shows he's on, including a current one (Fast Foodies) that he doesn't have insurance!
  9. This is the one that really gets me. It seemed like a no brainer to me - college can be done later. This opportunity is a right now thing.
  10. I don't think they were going to let the tourists drive it. Scott kept talking about photo ops. Being driveable just helps the owners, if they need to move it.
  11. I don't love Christain, in general, so I'd rather he not host or sub. :-/
  12. I never thought of it as Canadian. We did that growing up, too (not every time we made mac & cheese but sometimes). Maybe it's regional? I grew up in southeastern MI, but I also later had friends in southern CA that did it, too
  13. This! Plus Ming Tsai! As noted above Curtis Stone is actually impressive, too (not just a "pretty face"). The only one I didn't know much about was Gabriela Cámara but I had heard of her.
  14. Watched them all, liked them all. :) I hope this gets continued and with the same chefs as Iron Chefs. One minor thing - I don't love the round judging table - not sure why. Maybe I just liked the old layout better with chairman sitting at the end and the judges down the side. Granted with Alton and Kristin sitting there too (and getting to eat!) that would be harder to do. I was very intrigued with all the food from both the challenger and Crenn in her solo battle - all those kinds of milk and with the "pastry" techniques challenge. (Of course, I'd love to taste all the food from all the challenges.)
  15. Yay Buddha!
  16. Ready for the finale? I'm sad another season is almost over, but looking forward to seeing how this shakes out.
  17. We will have this live chat thread open for the season finale! Once the episode has finished, move your conversation to the episode thread.
  18. Original air date: June 2, 2022 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ FYI, we will have live chat for the finale here. Once the episode has finished, bring the conversation back here.
  19. Looks like it will be 4-5 episodes. They mentioned 16 competitors, so 4 eps at least, but I don't know if there will be a final Chopped with the winners of the first 4. It's odd because they are making it like Chris, Maneet, and Scott are all looking for sous chefs so ending with either 4 or 1 wouldn't work.
  20. This was a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house but we only saw 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. I know that often happens in shows like this, and those other rooms probably didn't need much work - just fresh paint on the walls of the bedrooms, but I'd still like a quick look or at least a mention of them.
  21. Original air date: May 26, 2022
  22. The only issue I had with the Boathouse was I didn't see a place for a TV in the main living area. I know many people don't watch TV while on vacation (or don't want to) especially at a cabin the woods or on the lake, but many do if only for when it's raining or something. But the main living area had one wall with the window door, then the wall of windows, then the other half wall of windows, then the stairs and the fireplace with that big hood, then the hall to the bedrooms and open kitchen.
  23. ^ Yes, I , too, switched to the default theme and getting no errors there.
  24. With all the athlete's foot and fungus I'm surprised her foot and ankle weren't unbearably itchy before.
  25. After all that, was there a follow-up on her in the closing? I know there was with the sisters and the bad callous lady. I know they said taking care of the athlete's foot and toenail fungus and infection was first priority before they could consider doing anything else for the club foot, but I thought we might get an update on the fungus and infection stuff.
